Abstract

The background of this research is to find and examine the symmetrical and paradoxical experiences when meeting and being present, melting, being sucked in and separated in the midst of the dynamic and timeless period. Learning and learning outcomes as downstream products of learners often eliminate the process as an essential part of the experience and even become different processes of handling, mentoring and regulation even though ostensibly in the name of context and sustainability but eliminating the voices of learners. The purpose of this research is to explore the extent of experience capable of self-reflection and then the research subjects are capable of weighing, deciding and empowering themselves for their efforts or conditions of shock that bring an atmosphere of amazement. This research is based on qualitative research with data search techniques through an interview process with three research subjects who hold the status of students in the city of Palangka Raya. The results showed that filling learning time during the pandemic and post-pandemic signaled that responsibility, independent learning, questioning competence, self-building and recovery were buildings that transformed as solidarity across psychologically vulnerable subjects amid the uncertainty of time and life.

Abstract

Abraham Maslow, a pioneer and founder of humanistic psychology, put forward Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs which comprises five stages: Physiological Needs, Needs for Safety, Needs for Love and Social belongings, Needs for Respect, and Needs for Self-Actualization. Hierarchy is one of the noteworthy features of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. Given the cultural context of Chinese universities where students are inherently influenced by Confucianism and collectivist national culture, attending to their needs at each of the five stages is instrumental for their success in life. To better tackle the psychological issues that students from universities may have, leaders at universities need to establish organizational policies and provide efficient counseling services to students from universities in China.

Abstract

This research examines Talawang shields, which have received little attention in scientific studies. Talawang shields are a cultural treasure for the Dayak people of Kalimantan, featuring intricate carvings, motifs, colours, and universes that blend art with local-global philosophical meanings. This is a qualitative research study that utilises previous studies as a secondary source of data. Additionally, the researchers provide evidence in the form of images of Talawang shields, which are considered an artistic luxury in Indonesia. The study also includes important interview results from credible sources with a cultural perspective to support the data. The results indicate that the Talawang shield serves as an art space for fashion and architecture, as well as a symbol of courage, responsibility, and loyalty. When presented to readers, observers, and art workers, the Talawang shield conveys multiple meanings.
