Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Social Media Marketing and Word of Mouth on Marketing Promotion with Brand Image as a mediating variable in Flamboyan Gorontalo MSMEs. This study is motivated by the importance of utilizing social media and word of mouth communication in increasing the effectiveness of MSME marketing promotion amidst increasingly competitive business competition. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a survey technique. Data were obtained by distributing questionnaires to consumers who have purchased Flamboyan Gorontalo MSME products. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling. Data analysis was carried out using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Square (PLS) through the SmartPLS application. The results of the study indicate that Brand Image has a positive and significant effect on Marketing Promotion. Word of Mouth has a positive and significant effect on Brand Image. Conversely, Social Media Marketing has no significant effect on Brand Image or Marketing Promotion. In addition, Word of Mouth also has no significant effect on Marketing Promotion. The results of the indirect effect test indicate that Brand Image is unable to mediate the effect of Social Media Marketing on Marketing Promotion or the effect of Word of Mouth on Marketing Promotion. The research findings indicate that the success of marketing promotions in the Flamboyan Gorontalo MSME is more determined by the strength of its brand image than by social media marketing activities and direct word-of-mouth communication. This research contributes to the development of digital marketing and brand management literature, and provides input for MSMEs in designing marketing strategies that focus on strengthening brand image to increase the effectiveness of marketing promotions and business competitiveness.

Abstract

The transformation towards a green economy is a major challenge for regions still dependent on the extractive sector. Sustainable development literature emphasizes that integrating environmental policies into regional economic systems is a prerequisite for inclusive and resilient long-term growth. This study aims to analyze the influence of waste management on regional economic performance within a green economy framework in the Banjarbakula Metropolitan Area, South Kalimantan Province. The study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory design and multiple linear regression analysis on data from 2021–2025. Waste management variables include policy and regulatory inclusiveness, budget adequacy, community participation, law enforcement effectiveness, multi-stakeholder partnerships, waste processing technology, and carbon trading, with Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) as the dependent variable. The results show that waste management effectiveness through the seven independent variables mentioned above simultaneously has a significant effect on GRDP. Partially, the policy dimension, community participation, and law enforcement effectiveness show a relatively stronger influence. These findings confirm that waste management has the potential to be a strategic instrument in driving green economic transformation at the regional level.

Abstract

In an increasingly competitive business environment, organizations are required to implement strategies that not only enhance organizational performance but also promote long-term sustainability and customer retention. This study aims to examine the impact of Sustainable Marketing Strategies and Career Development Opportunities on Employee Productivity and Customer Loyalty in Jakarta. A quantitative research approach was employed using a survey method involving 200 respondents working in various organizations across Jakarta. Data were collected through structured questionnaires measured using a five-point Likert scale. The analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS 3). The results indicate that Sustainable Marketing Strategies have a positive and significant effect on Employee Productivity (β = 0.382, p < 0.001) and Customer Loyalty (β = 0.291, p < 0.001). Career Development Opportunities also significantly influence Employee Productivity (β = 0.467, p < 0.001) and Customer Loyalty (β = 0.177, p = 0.010). Furthermore, Employee Productivity exerts the strongest direct effect on Customer Loyalty (β = 0.431, p < 0.001). The structural model explains 65.3% of the variance in Employee Productivity and 71.2% of the variance in Customer Loyalty, indicating substantial predictive capability. The findings suggest that organizations should integrate sustainability-oriented marketing initiatives with employee development programs to enhance workforce productivity and strengthen long-term customer loyalty. This study contributes to the literature by providing an integrated framework that combines external sustainability strategies and internal human resource development practices within a single model.

Abstract

Topographic surveying in mining operations is used to determine the actual progress volume of excavated material. In open-pit mining, overburden volume can be estimated from Total Station survey data through surface-to-surface volume calculation and compared with production volume obtained from Truck Count data. This study evaluates weekly overburden volume estimates derived from Total Station survey data and compares them with Truck Count volume data. The results showed that the volume difference in Week 1 was -43.11 BCM with a deviation of -1.1%. In Week 2, the difference was +126.06 BCM with a deviation of +1.6%. In Week 3, the difference was -59.87 BCM with a deviation of -1.6%, while in Week 4, the difference was -112.97 BCM with a deviation of -1.1%. The total volume difference was -89.89 BCM, with an overall deviation of -0.4%. The paired t-test indicated no statistically significant difference between Total Station survey-based volume estimates and Truck Count data. Therefore, both approaches can be considered comparable for estimating weekly overburden volume in open-pit mining operations.
