Abstract

The community service activity aims to enhance financial literacy and financial awareness among eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Wonosari through a structured and contextual financial literacy training program. The activity was conducted using interactive lectures, case discussions, classroom dialogues, and student reflections on daily financial habits. The training materials covered basic financial literacy concepts, financial levels, spending quadrants, and financial intelligence. The results indicate that the program improved students’ understanding of personal financial management, the ability to distinguish between needs and wants, and awareness of the consequences of financial decisions. Students also demonstrated initial awareness of managing their allowance more wisely by planning expenditures and considering simple financial planning practices. These findings suggest that financial literacy training at the secondary school level plays a crucial role in establishing an early foundation for responsible financial behavior and long-term financial readiness.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of a community empowerment program through halal certification assistance to enhance the competitiveness of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Ciro-Ciroe Village. The community service activity was conducted on November 24, 2025, involving 30 community members, particularly MSME actors. The methods applied included lectures, direct socializati on, interactive question-and-answer sessions, and administrative assistan ce related to the halal certification registration process. The program stages consisted of preparation, socialization through lectures, interact ive discussions, and technical assistance. The results indicate an increased awareness and understanding among MSME actors regarding the importance of halal certification, improvement in product quality through the implementation of the halal assurance system, and simplification of the halal certification registration process. In addition, the program fostered collaboration among MSMEs and addressed various implementation challenges through practical solutions. Overall, comprehensive halal certification assistance proved effective in strengthening MSME capacity and enhancing product competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.

Abstract

The Saving Challenge Program was a community service activity conducted by university students participating in the Community Service Program (KKN) in Bahliran Siborna Village, Panei Subdistrict, Simalungun Regency, from August 17 to 28, 2025. This program aimed to foster early financial literacy by cultivating saving habits among children. The target participants included kindergarten and elementary school students. The program was implemented through interactive educational sessions emphasizing the importance of saving, followed by a daily saving challenge conducted over a two-week period using specially prepared piggy banks. The results demonstrated a high level of enthusiasm and active participation among the children. Most participants were able to achieve, and in some cases exceed, the predetermined saving targets. In addition to improving basic financial literacy, the program contributed to the development of discipline, financial independence, and positive money management habits. Overall, the Saving Challenge Program shows strong potential as a community-based financial education model that is both effective and sustainable.

Abstract

This paper discusses the implementation of a visual design-based digital marketing strategy using the Canva platform to improve the competitiveness of Pondok Tani MSME products in Samosir Regency. Through community service activities structured in four stages: problem analysis, design planning, design implementation, and evaluation and monitoring, the team helps business owners improve the packaging of traditional products such as bandrek, sasagun, and tipa-tipa to make them more attractive and professional. This approach aims to strengthen product identity, increase visual appeal, and support effective digital marketing, so that local products can be more easily recognized and compete in national and online markets. The evaluation shows that this collaboration not only improves packaging quality but also increases business owners' understanding of the design and digital marketing process, and encourages the sustainability of local culture-based product development.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to provide the Amanah MSME group with an understanding of the importance of branding for products in order to enhance competitiveness and expand market reach. Appropriate branding enables MSMEs to create a strong product identity that aligns with market characteristics, which is expected to increase sales and improve economic welfare. The methods used in this activity included training sessions and practical mentoring for the Amanah MSME group. The training materials covered basic concepts of branding, simple market analysis using mobile phones, and hands-on practice in determining suitable branding strategies for MSME products. After the training, participants gained a broader understanding of the market and were able to independently develop branding for their products. The results indicate that this activity effectively increased participants’ knowledge and skills in product branding, thereby supporting the development of more competitive and sustainable MSMEs.

Abstract

River cleanup activities by students are a form of community service aimed at improving environmental quality and building ecological awareness. This program is implemented through Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), which utilizes local assets, such as a culture of mutual cooperation, leadership, and village facilities, to encourage participation. Activities include identifying river problems, joint cleanup actions with residents, and education on the impact of waste on the environment. The results show improvements in river conditions, increased awareness of the importance of protecting rivers, and the establishment of sustainable cooperation between students, the government, and residents. In addition, this activity serves as an educational tool that encourages long-term behavioral change, so that the community better understands that environmental preservation is a shared responsibility. This shows that the involvement of students as agents of change can be a major driver in empowering the community to protect the river ecosystem in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to enhance business management understanding and raise awareness of coconut coir–based product branding among coastal MSMEs in Lansilowo Village, Konawe Islands Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. The program was implemented through several stages, including initial observation to identify community needs, socialization activities, educational sessions on basic business management and product branding, and interactive discussions with participants. The results indicate an improvement in participants’ understanding of fundamental business management, such as cost management, simple business planning, and basic financial recording. In addition, participants gained greater awareness of the importance of product branding in increasing product value added, market appeal, and competitiveness of coconut coir–based products. This activity contributes positively to local economic development and the strengthening of coastal MSME capacity, particularly by optimizing the utilization of coconut coir as a value-added economic resource in Lansilowo Village, Konawe Islands Regency.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance awareness and active participation of the academic community at Sunan Giri University Surabaya in creating a clean, healthy, and sustainable campus environment through collective collaboration. The program was conducted from November to December 2025 by transforming unused vacant land within the campus area. The Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach was employed, emphasizing the utilization of internal assets such as human resources, social capital, and physical environmental potential. Activities included socialization sessions, collective clean-up actions, reuse of waste materials, planting of ornamental and food crops, and strengthening solidarity through collaborative activities. The results indicate increased collective awareness of environmental cleanliness, strengthened shared responsibility, and the creation of green campus spaces that support a conducive learning environment. This program demonstrates a sustainable community engagement model that positions the campus as a living laboratory grounded in collaboration and environmental sustainability.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve economic empowerment for PKK women in East Cempaka Putih Village, Central Jakarta, through training in clothing embroidery skills. The program was initiated by the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas YARSI, in collaboration with PKK Working Group II as part of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The training focused on enhancing participants’ practical skills in embroidery using embroidery machines, with the objective of increasing household income and encouraging the development of small-scale home-based enterprises. The methods included knowledge transfer on the importance of economic empowerment, introduction to embroidery tools and materials, and hands-on practice using embroidery machines. The program was conducted in eight meetings, and participants showed high enthusiasm and attendance throughout the sessions. Evaluation was carried out by assessing the quality of embroidered products produced by participants. The results indicated that most participants were able to operate embroidery machines and produce marketable embroidered items, demonstrating the program’s potential to support sustainable community-based economic activities.

Abstract

Plastic waste remains a significant environmental problem in Legetan Village, Bener District, Purworejo Regency. Improper waste management has led to environmental degradation, reduced village aesthetics, and decreased community well-being. These conditions indicate the need for practical and community-based waste management initiatives. This Community Service Program aims to reduce plastic waste volume while enhancing community awareness, knowledge, and active participation in waste management through eco-block innovation. The methods applied include observation, socialization, training, hands-on practice, and community mentoring using a participatory approach. The results indicate positive changes in community attitudes, improved understanding, and increased skills in plastic waste recycling. The community successfully practiced eco-block production as an alternative solution for managing household plastic waste with functional, environmental, and sustainable value.
