The objectives of this research are 1) To find out how gender is in the interpretation of Quraish Sihab and Ibn Asyur. 2). This research is Library Research, this research uses a comparative approach. Data collection techniques: 1) Collect and search for references relevant to the research object. 2) Classify books based on type (primary and secondary). 3) Selecting data, namely selecting and retrieving data related to research. 4) Verify and confirm data with other sources to ensure its validity. 5) Interpret the data that has been collected. The results of this research are that men are considered superior to women because they provide a dowry and support, have more physical strength and intelligence.

Abstract

Islam came with the spirit of scientific progress for mankind.  The Prophet Muhammad SAW as the bearer of the Islamic message with his tarbiyah system which emphasized faith, love of knowledge, beauty of morals and role models succeeded in bringing a nation that was previously left behind to become an advanced nation and become the center of scientific civilization.  However, unfortunately this glory is only a memory, because Muslims themselves are starting to abandon their teachings and have forgotten the concepts established by their Prophet.  Now Muslims are again facing new challenges with the emergence of pluralism which is felt to have invaded the world of education.  This understanding of pluralism is certainly dangerous for the young generation of Muslims, because this understanding of pluralism instills the teachings of relativism, gives a wrong understanding of tolerance, and dwarfs Islamic law.  So to fight this pluralism, it is necessary to re-implement the Nabawiyah tarbiyah concept in the education system.  Because the main root of this pluralism is Muslims' ignorance of the true teachings of Islam, so they are easily influenced by outside whispers.

Abstract

Morals are the implementation of one's faith when meeting other people, other creatures or even meeting their Lord. So the discussion will not run out of time. Then in modern times, people begin to appear who heresy someone else just because they think that person does not practice morals in accordance with the guidance of the Prophet. The accusation is often leveled at the Sufis, especially the Sufis who often 'uzlah and do things outside the habits of other humans. Even though this is not true, the true Sufis are people who do worship both socially and individually in a way that is based on the Prophet Muhammad Saw and they will do it with sincerity. So we aim to combine the thoughts of a hadith expert with a Sufism expert to see how true the irregularities they throw at the Sufis are. This study uses a literature review method or literature study with analytical techniques comparing the opinions of two figures related to noble character. This study aims to find common ground between the opinions of Sheikh Abdul Wahhab al-Sya'rani and Sheikh Muhammad Abdul Aziz al-Khawli regarding morality.

Abstract

The role of women as breadwinners is often considered unusual in Muslim societies, which traditionally associate this role with men. However, in Konang Galis Village, Pamekasan, the phenomenon of women working or even being the main providers for their families has become a common occurrence, unbound by local religious or cultural norms. This study aims to understand the reasons women become breadwinners, their feelings about this role, and the responses from those close to them. Additionally, the research explores their income levels and their hopes for the future of their households. This study employs a qualitative method with a case study approach in Konang Galis Village, Pamekasan. Data were collected through documentation from interviews with two female breadwinners and direct observations in the field. The findings indicate that the reasons for women working vary, ranging from personal desires to economic factors, such as husbands who are unable to work. There is no coercion from any party; in fact, there is support from family and the surrounding environment. The informants earn sufficient income to meet their family needs and express a desire to continue working in the future. This research provides insights into gender dynamics within household economic roles in rural Muslim communities. The results of this study can serve as a reference for gender studies, social policies, and economics, as well as for further research in sociology and Islamic studies.

Abstract

The reform of Islamic thought in the Middle East and South Asia emerged as a response to colonialism and the challenges of modernity. Figures such as Jamaluddin Al-Afghani, Muhammad Abduh, Rashid Rida, Hassan Al-Banna, Sayyid Ahmad Khan, Abul A'la Maududi, Ali Shariati, and Muhammad Ali Pasha initiated religious reforms that significantly influenced the struggle for independence in the Islamic world. However, comparative studies on their contributions to independence movements in these two regions remain limited. This study aims to analyze the ideas of key Islamic reformers and examine their relevance in addressing contemporary challenges. Using a qualitative historical approach, this research explores how these reformers integrated Islamic teachings with modern advancements in education, governance, and law to resist colonialism. The findings show that Islamic reformers played a crucial role in shaping nationalist movements, reviving Islamic identity, and supporting the establishment of independent Muslim nations. Their advocacy for education, ijtihad (independent reasoning), and political unity formed the foundation of anti-colonial resistance. In conclusion, Islamic thought reform not only contributed to national independence but also continues to influence contemporary Islamic governance and social movements. This study offers valuable insights into the dynamic relationship between Islam, modernization, and political independence, and provides a basis for further research on the relevance of Islamic reformist thought in the modern era.

Abstract

Translanguaging has emerged as a significant pedagogical approach in multilingual classrooms, allowing learners to fluidly navigate between languages to enhance comprehension and engagement. In linguistically diverse settings, particularly those involving indigenous learners, translanguaging serves as a bridge between students’ home languages and the target language, fostering more inclusive and effective learning experiences. This study explores an English teacher’s perceptions, applications, and challenges in implementing translanguaging in a multilingual classroom. Using a narrative qualitative approach and purposive sampling, the study focused on an English teacher at Hinandayan National High School, Agusan del Norte, who has experience teaching Higaonon learners. Thematic analysis was employed to examine the data. Findings indicate that while the teacher perceives translanguaging as beneficial for enhancing learners' comprehension, some students still struggle to improve their English academic performance. The teacher frequently relied on translation to facilitate understanding, yet specific translanguaging strategies were not explicitly employed due to a lack of formal training. A major challenge arose in writing activities, as learners preferred to use their mother tongue, requiring the teacher to reinforce the importance of English usage. The study recommends selectively integrating translanguaging for learners struggling with English comprehension and providing teachers with specialized training to maximize its effectiveness.
