Abstract

The origin of this research stemmed from the researcher's observation of students from early childhood to adulthood who still lacked morality towards others, particularly their parents. This study employs a case study research design and a qualitative methodology. The data sources used are primary and secondary sources. In collecting data, the researcher used interviews, observations, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and verification. In order to verify the validity of the data, the researcher employed triangulation techniques, gathered information from multiple sources, and utilized reference materials. The study's results show that students at TPQ (Taman Pendidikan Qur'an) Al-Barokah Pule Macanan implement the book Washoya Al-Abaa 'Lil Abnaa' in their moral formation by preparing materials and creating lesson summaries. Students at TPQ (Taman Pendidikan Quran) Al-Barokah Pule Macanan learn the Kitab Washoya Al-Abaa’ Lil Abnaa’ in three weekly meetings, namely every Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Learning activities consist of introduction, content, and closing. Supporting and inhibiting factors for learning the Kitab Washoya Al-Abaa’ Lil Abnaa’ in the formation of morals of students at TPQ (Taman Pendidikan Quran) Al-Barokah Pule Macanan are changes. We observe the changes in two areas: moral knowledge and student behavior.

Abstract

SMA Darul Ulum 2 Unggulan BPPT Jombang has successfully integrated the Merdeka Curriculum effectively, supported by academic supervision practices carried out by the school principal. The purpose of this supervision is to prepare and optimize the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, as evidenced by the school's achievements as the best in Jombang and the high number of students accepted through the SNBP. However, there are several challenges in the implementation of supervision, including the presence of teachers who have surpassed retirement age, time limitations, and variations in human resources. This study aims to identify the role of the school principal in academic supervision that supports the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, as well as the factors that contribute to or hinder this process. The research method used is qualitative with an interactive approach, and data is collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis. Data analysis is conducted through triangulation, verification, reduction, and systematic presentation. The study's results reveal that the principal's academic supervision encompasses four important aspects: pre-observation, socialization, mentoring, and monitoring. Nevertheless, various obstacles such as teacher age, time constraints, and varying competencies among teachers need to be addressed to enhance the effectiveness of supervision.

Abstract

Qur’an Education Park (TPQ) acts as a solution to improve Qur’an literacy among children who have limited access to formal religious education by implementing a systematic Qiro’ati method and emphasizing the use of tajwid from the beginning of learning. This study aims to examine the application of the Qiro’ati method at TPQ. H. Achmad Ali and to explore the efforts made by teachers in developing children’s Qur’an reading skills with the Qiro’ati method. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative, with research subjects including the head of TPQ, teachers, and students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The results of the study showed that teachers made various efforts to develop students’ Qur’an reading skills through the application of the Qiro’ati method at TPQ, namely providing examples of how to read the Qur’an with tartil and clearly, listening to readings individually, approaching through the pre-volume method, providing repetition material, habituating reading the Qur’an continuously, packaging learning with interesting games, providing motivation, reading additional material during rows, and holding coaching for teachers. This research contributes to providing practical insights into the implementation of the Qiro’ati method at the local level so that it can be a reference for other TPQs in increasing the effectiveness of learning to read the Qur’an.

Abstract

Dormitory facilities in Islamic educational institutions play a pivotal role in fostering discipline and supporting academic achievement among students. However, many institutions face challenges in maintaining effective management due to limited resources and inconsistent policies. This study aims to explore the strategic management of dormitory facilities and its impact on student discipline and academic achievement. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and document analysis at Dalwa 4 dormitory, Pondok Pesantren Darullughah Wadda’wah. The findings reveal that strategic planning, resource optimization, leadership practices, and student engagement programs are key factors in achieving effective dormitory management. Structured routines and transformational leadership approaches significantly enhance discipline, while well-maintained facilities and engagement activities contribute to improved academic outcomes. Additionally, mnemonic techniques were found to reduce student anxiety and support learning retention. This study contributes to the literature by providing a comprehensive framework that integrates strategic planning, leadership, and engagement practices for holistic student development. It offers practical recommendations for administrators to optimize dormitory management and suggests future research to include multi-institutional and mixed-method approaches for broader generalization.

Abstract

Religious moderation is essential for promoting harmony among religious communities in Indonesia. Principals play a crucial role in integrating this principle into school environments. This study aims to examine how the principal of MAN 1 Garut applies religious moderation through his leadership. A descriptive qualitative method with an ethnographic approach was used, with data collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation. The findings reveal that the principal applies three stages in promoting religious moderation. The first stage is planning, which is carried out collectively with school staff and stakeholders. The second stage is implementation, where the principal employs a transformational leadership style, focusing on inspiration, empowerment, and providing exemplary behavior to the school community. The third stage is supervision, which involves evaluating and monitoring the effectiveness of the religious moderation program. Despite these efforts, the study identifies challenges, particularly from students who exhibit critical thinking regarding differences in religious views. These challenges require the principal to continuously adapt strategies to foster understanding and tolerance. This study contributes valuable insights for fostering inclusive, harmonious, and tolerant education, particularly in the context of Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

Character education plays a central role in shaping students into individuals with integrity and competitiveness. One of the approaches used to instill character values is through the Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila dan Rahmatan Lil’Alamin (P5P2RA) based on local wisdom. This study aims to examine the planning, implementation, and evaluation processes, as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of character education through P5P2RA grounded in local culture. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation. The study focuses on the application of character values such as faith and piety, love for the homeland, mutual cooperation, responsibility, creativity, proper manners (ta’abbud), and a dynamic and innovative attitude (tatawur wa ibtikar) within project-based learning activities that highlight local potential. The findings reveal that the implementation of P5P2RA based on local wisdom is fairly effective in developing students' character. Activities such as constructing miniature traditional houses and showcasing student work (Gelar Karya) encouraged students to collaborate, think critically, and appreciate local culture. However, the program still faces several challenges, including low active student participation in project creation, lack of enthusiasm, and limited transportation funding for field exploration activities. Nevertheless, the school has demonstrated its commitment to overcoming these obstacles by optimizing internal resources and implementing innovative strategies.

Abstract

The increasing demand for qualified Qur’an teachers in the digital era requires innovative training models that combine pedagogical quality with technological accessibility. The Tilawati Method, a widely used system for Qur’anic recitation instruction in Indonesia, has been adapted into an online format to meet this need. This study aims to optimize the implementation of online-based Qur’an Teacher Training using the Tilawati Method with a SWOT analysis approach to improve the quality of education. This study uses a qualitative method with data collection through interviews, observations, and documentation studies that are analyzed using a SWOT matrix. The results of the analysis show strengths such as time flexibility, cost efficiency, and detailed program structure; weaknesses such as dependence on internet connections and limitations of practice sessions; opportunities in equitable access to Qur’anic education; as well as threats in the form of infrastructure constraints and miscommunication between institutions. The proposed strategy includes technology optimization, improving post-training assistance services, and strengthening cooperation between central institutions and branches. This research is expected to be the basis for the development of Qur’an-based education policies based on the Tilawati Method that is continuous improvement.
