<![CDATA[Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan makna gramatikal, leksikal, referensial, dan nonreferensial dalam cerpen Surat Rahasia dari Tuhan karya Amelia Bunga Novitasar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis makna yang terkandung dalam karya sastra cerpen. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif. Mendeskripsikan makna kata dalam cerpen surat rahasia dari Tuhan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan teknik baca dan mencatat. Data dianalisis menggunakan teori semantik tentang makna kata. Data dalam penelitian ini yaitu makna kata gramatikal, leksikal, referensial, dan nonreferensial dalam cerpen Surat Rahasia dari Tuhan. Sumber data yaitu cerpen Surat Rahasia dari Tuhan karya Amelia Bunga Novitasar. Makna gramatikal ditunjukkan dengan proses pelekatan kata yang berupa prefiks dan sufiks. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 6 kata yang mengandung makna gramatikal, terdapat 4 kata bermakna leksikal, terdapat 8 kata bermakna referensial, dan terdapat 9 kata bermakna non referensial.]]>

<![CDATA[Metaphysical is a literary genre that combines philosophical ideas with emotional depth and deep analyses of nature. One of the famous authors in this genre is John Donne, who is known for his profound themes, distinctive style, and skillful use of conceit in his poetry. This paper aims to explore the influence of John Donne's work on metaphysical poetry and assess the contribution and striking elements of metaphysics in his selected poems by examining Donne's use of conceit. The research aims to examine how John Donne influenced the poetry of metaphysics and explore the assessment of his literary endeavors as well as metaphysical elements. The research has uncovered new perspectives from a metaphysical standpoint on religion, the universe, love, and death.]]>

<![CDATA[Most students in junior high school, especially seventh grade, had difficulty learning vocabulary. Even though vocabulary was very important for language learning. Duolingo could help with this problem because Duolingo could make students more interested and less bored when studying. The purpose of this research was to find out whether there was an effect of the Duolingo Application in increasing the vocabulary mastery of 7th grade students at SMPN 32 Bandar Lampung in the 2023/2024 academic year. This research methodology used in this research was quasi-experimental design. The population of this research was all 7th grade students of SMP Negeri 32 Bandar Lampung for the 2023/2024 academic year with a total of 180 students. This research sample consisted of two classes, namely class 7B with a total of 34 students as the experimental class, and class 7C with a total of 33 students as the control class. This meant that the total number of samples for this research was 67. The experimental class used Duolingo Application, while the control class used the “When English Rings a Bell” textbook and dictionaries. The sample for this research was determined using a cluster random sampling technique. The treatment was carried out in first meeting. In collecting data, this research used a test instrument in the form of 40 multiple choice questions. Before giving treatment, a pretest was carried out. Then, after the treatment has been carried out, a post test was given. The results showed that there is a significant difference in student scores before and after treatment. This research used hypothesis testing, especially the T-test, to find out whether the Duolingo Application had a significant effect on students' vocabulary scores. And the results show that Sig. (ρvalue) = 0.000 < α = 0.05. So Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. It can be concluded that there is a significant effect of using the Duolingo Application on increasing the vocabulary mastery of 7th grade students at SMP Negeri 32 Bandar Lampung in the 2023/2024 academic year.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this study is to ascertain how students at STISIPOL Candradimuka Palembang feel about teachers using code switching when teaching English. The study sample consisted of 37 students from the Social Welfare Science course. The Qualitative survey research design was applied in this study. The questionnaire was spread to the students as the research instrument to investigate students’ perception. The result of the questionnaire was analyzed by using the Likert scale to know the degree of agreement and disagreement. The study's findings demonstrated that students had a positive perception of teachers who code-switch between Indonesian and English because it makes learning the language more fun and motivates them to try having conversations in it.]]>

<![CDATA[This study addresses the critical gap in utilizing YouTube as an ICT tool to enhance pronunciation skills among seventh-grade students in Mojokerto. Grounded in multimedia learning theory, the research employs a descriptive qualitative approach to examine the impact of YouTube-based pronunciation lessons. Findings reveal that the teacher's strategy of creating and implementing pronunciation videos on YouTube significantly improved students' pronunciation skills and was perceived as highly effective by the learners. These results underscore the transformative potential of digital platforms like YouTube in revolutionizing English language education, particularly in pronunciation.]]>

<![CDATA[This study investigates the effect of the Team Word-Webbing technique on reading comprehension among tenth-grade students at MAN Koto Baru, Dharmasraya. Reading comprehension is critical for language acquisition and academic success, as it encompasses the ability to extract and interpret meaning from text. Despite its importance, many students struggle with reading comprehension due to various factors including limited vocabulary and insufficient engagement. To address these issues, the study employed a quantitative experimental design, using a quasi-experimental approach with an experimental group and a control group. The research involved a pre-test and post-test assessment to measure reading comprehension levels before and after the implementation of the Team Word-Webbing technique. The experimental group was taught using this technique, which involves organizing ideas visually to enhance understanding, while the control group received traditional instruction. The sample consisted of two classes selected through purposive sampling, with data analyzed using t-tests to compare outcomes. Results indicated that the Team Word-Webbing technique significantly improved reading comprehension compared to conventional methods. The experimental group demonstrated higher post-test scores, with statistical analysis revealing a significant difference (p < 0.05). This suggests that Team Word-Webbing enhances students' ability to understand and retain reading material by facilitating better organization of ideas and active engagement. In conclusion, the study supports the effectiveness of Team Word-Webbing as an instructional strategy to improve reading comprehension. This technique not only aids in comprehension but also promotes active learning and student interaction, making it a valuable tool for educators aiming to enhance reading skills in the classroom.]]>

<![CDATA[This study investigated the validity and reliability of a General English Course assessment tool at Universitas Harapan Bangsa. Using a quantitative descriptive technique, the study examined the assessment items using point-biserial correlation for validity and Cronbach's alpha for reliability. While the instrument had high overall reliability, several items needed to be revised to improve its validity. The findings indicate that the assessment instrument is generally reliable and valid; nevertheless, continuing monitoring and adjustment are required to maintain its quality and assure accurate evaluation of student English competence.]]>

<![CDATA[The problems of this research were students students cannot write in a good form, students often do nit remember the general structure of the text well, and cannot find the the right words to write. The research aimed to find out the Impact of Padlet Application on Improving Students’ Writing Skill at SMPN 30 Padang. Padlet is an online tool that allows users to create virtual bulletin boards where they can post various types of content such as text, images, videos, links, and documents. This research used quantitative method with a pre-experimental approach and data collection was carried out using pretest and post test to analyze the effect of using Padlet application on students at SMPN 30 Padang who consisted 33 students from class VIII.I who has choosen using cluster random sampling. The research result show that Padlet application can improve students’ writing skill. The pretest result showed average score was 55,60 and the post test was 70,88. After data was collected, the data was analyzed using t-test formula. The result of the analysis showed that value of t-test > t table is 7,067 > 2,03693. The last hypothesis shows that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. It means there is a significant influence on improving students’ writing skill using Padlet application.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to analyze the role of Baitul Maal wa Tamwil (BMT) as an Islamic microfinance institution in eliminating loan shark practices in communities, particularly in Java and Sumatra. Loan shark practices persist due to the ease and speed of loan disbursement, despite the high interest rates that entrap small communities in difficult-to-escape debt cycles. BMT offers a fair and interest-free Islamic financing solution based on profit-sharing principles and a more inclusive approach. This study discusses BMT’s financing strategies, such as lenient requirements, fast processing, and financial education programs designed to compete with loan sharks. The main findings indicate that BMT plays a significant role in providing fairer financing access to small communities and helping reduce their dependence on loan sharks. However, this study also reveals several challenges BMT faces, such as limited capital, strict regulations, and low financial literacy among the public. These challenges hinder BMT's ability to effectively compete with loan sharks in terms of speed and accessibility. The results of this study emphasize the importance of strengthening BMT’s capital, developing human resources, and innovating Islamic financing products so that BMT can play a more prominent role in eradicating loan shark practices in the community. With the right strategy and support from various stakeholders, BMT has great potential to continue growing as a more equitable and empowering financing solution.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to analyze the use of technology in English language learning in Class XI E at SMA N 2 Bangli. The technologies used include laptops, LCD projectors, and applications such as Kahoot, Quizizz, and PowerPoint. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques consisting of observation, checklists, and field notes. The results show that the use of technology helps to enhance students' motivation and engagement in learning. Students become more active, and the learning process becomes more interesting due to the use of visual and digital media. However, some challenges include limited access to technology for some students and technical issues such as unstable internet connections. This study suggests improving the school's technological infrastructure and providing training for teachers to effectively integrate technology into the classroom. With adequate support, the use of technology can significantly improve the quality of English language learning.]]>
