Abstract

Amidst audience saturation with digital advertising that is too neat and conventional, a new approach has emerged known as brainrot content and anti-trend, namely a communication strategy that utilizes absurd visuals, hyperbolic humor, and low-budget aesthetics. This study aims to analyze Kitabisa.com's communication strategy in its viral zakat campaign through a social media approach.brain rot, as well as in-depth analysis through Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotics to examine the elements sign, object, and interpreter in advertising content. Furthermore, the campaign was also read through the marketing mix (8P) framework to assess the extent to which this strategy deviates from or transforms traditional marketing norms. The analysis shows that Kitabisa.com strategically packaged religious messages in a fun parody format that resonates with youth digital culture. This strategy successfully generated high engagement on social media, reduced the audience's psychological distance from the issue of zakat, and organically expanded the promotional reach. This campaign demonstrates that absurd humor and unconventional visual communication can be an effective approach in values-based philanthropic digital marketing.

Abstract

Marriage-themed films are a genre that not only depict harmonious and romantic married life but also reflect power relations and socio-cultural dynamics within a society. This study uses a qualitative approach with Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis method. The results show that the film Pasutri Gaje perpetuates and disrupts existing discourses regarding marriage in Indonesia. The discourses it attempts to perpetuate are the underprivileged status of civil servants and the social pressures that arise from the surrounding environment to have children. Both of these discourses are currently close to the reality of Indonesian society. Meanwhile, the discourse being disrupted in this film concerns fertility issues, which can also be caused by the desire to have children, including men who are portrayed as masculine. This is because fertility issues in Indonesia are more detrimental to women. The contribution of this study is that financial issues are the root of problems in married life. Therefore, this research is expected to provide insight for the government in reforming the welfare system for civil servants.

Abstract

Public trust in law enforcement supervisory agencies is an important foundation for democracy and the rule of law in Indonesia. The Indonesian Attorney General's Commission, as an independent agency that supervises the performance of the attorney general's office, faces the challenge of building credibility and public trust through effective communication and optimal responsiveness to complaints. This study aims to determine the influence of dialogic communication and responsiveness to complaints on public trust in the Indonesian Attorney General's Commission. The study used a survey method with 120 respondents using purposive sampling. Dialogic communication includes mutuality orientation and an atmosphere of openness, while complaint service responsiveness includes speed of response, consistency of follow-up, and transparency of the process. The data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis with SPSS version 26. The results showed that dialogic communication and complaint service responsiveness had a significant effect on public trust of 89.0% with an F-statistic = 471.44 (p < 0.001). Dialogic communication had a significant effect with a correlation of r = 0.9203 (t = 25.55, p < 0.001), while the responsiveness of complaint services had a significant effect with a correlation of r = 0.9167 (t = 24.91, p < 0.001). The findings confirm the importance of dialogic communication and responsive services in increasing public trust in law enforcement supervisory agencies in Indonesia.

Abstract

Digital transformation has reshaped the way communities access information and services, including through the role of Community Information Groups (KIM). This study explores the transformation of KIM Pojok Jatirogo from a community-based information medium into a facilitator of integrated marketing communication and a provider of digital services. The objectives are to describe the transformation process, analyze communication strategies, and evaluate the impact on local economic empowerment. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, involving in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal that KIM Pojok Jatirogo successfully integrated public information functions with digital services such as PJEK Delivery, Digiplain Digital Marketing, and Tour & Travel. Operational data indicate substantial growth: PJEK orders increased from 622 per month in 2018 to more than 4,000 per month in 2025, while MSME supported by Digiplain grew from 5 in 2019 to 300 in 2025. By applying Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) strategies that combine WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok and offline events, KIM enhanced both community engagement and UMKM competitiveness. These findings reinforce Diffusion of Innovation theory (Rogers, 2003) and the social capital concept (Putnam, 2000), highlighting the importance of change agents and trust networks in the success of community-based innovation. This study concludes that community-driven digital transformation strengthens local economic ecosystems and enhances KIM’s legitimacy as a strategic partner of local government. The scientific contribution lies in offering a replicable model of community-based integrated marketing communication with implications for MSME development and rural digital economy building.

Abstract

This study investigates how debates on Syariat Islam in Aceh have shifted from formal religious spaces into TikTok’s fast-paced, visual, and algorithmically curated environment. Using a digital ethnographic case study, the research analyzes a selection of TikTok videos and comment interactions produced by ulama, journalists, activists, political actors, and ordinary citizens to understand how Islamic political communication is constructed and contested in everyday digital life. Through reflexive thematic analysis, five key dynamics emerge: Syariat Islam as a moral identity that is both affirmed and problematized; tensions involving justice, gender, and political use of religious norms; humor and satire as subtle forms of critique; shifting religious authority from traditional scholars to digitally influential creators; and the strong role of algorithmic amplification in shaping public perception. The findings enrich theoretical perspectives on the digital public sphere, mediatized religion, and media ecology by illustrating how religious meaning is increasingly shaped by visual performance, emotional engagement, and platform logic. Practically, the study highlights the need for policymakers, religious institutions, and dakwah organizations in Aceh to adopt communication strategies that are adaptive, dialogic, and digitally literate. It also opens pathways for future research across platforms and deeper methodological

Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence (AI) has fundamentally transformed the digital media ecosystem, particularly in the processes of information production, distribution, and legitimation. While AI enables efficiency and content personalization, it simultaneously raises critical challenges to media integrity and communication ethics. This article aims to critically examine the role of artificial intelligence in shaping the crisis of digital media integrity, with particular attention to algorithmic disinformation, biased information distribution, and the ethical implications of AI-based media practices. This study employs a qualitative approach through a literature review of ten international scholarly journals published between 2015 and 2025. The findings indicate that AI functions as a structural actor within the digital media ecosystem by reinforcing the logic of the attention economy, accelerating the spread of disinformation, and reshaping journalistic ethical standards. At the same time, AI also presents potential as a tool for disinformation mitigation when supported by ethical frameworks, algorithmic transparency, and effective governance. This article concludes that digital media integrity in the age of artificial intelligence constitutes a systemic issue that requires a multidimensional approach integrating communication ethics, technology regulation, and platform accountability.
