Abstract

This study was conducted to develop a local wisdom-based E-comic as a learning medium that aimed at improving the understanding of regional economic concepts among fifth-grade elementary school students. The study was motivated by the low level of students’ comprehension regarding regional economic material and the limited availability of engaging and contextual learning media. The ADDIE development model was employed in this research. The product was designed in the form of a digital comic that features interactive visual narratives, with content focused on regional economic themes integrated with the local wisdom of Tulungagung Regency—such as economic activities, leading local products, and the potential of the creative economy. The research was carried out with fifth-grade students from State Elementary School 2 of Pucung Kidul, Tulungagung as participants. Data were collected through observations, questionnaires, interviews, document analysis, and concept comprehension tests. The e-comic was validated by media and content experts, and it was found to be highly valid and appropriate for use. Positive responses were obtained from both teachers and students, indicating that the e-comic was considered feasible and practical for learning purposes. Small-scale and large-scale trials were conducted, and the results showed that students’ conceptual understanding was significantly improved through the use of the local wisdom-based e-comic, as supported by the analysis of a paired sample t-test. To sum up, the developed e-comic was proven to be valid, practical, and effective in enhancing the understanding of regional economic concepts among fifth-grade elementary students.

Abstract

Technology integration is crucial for modern education. This study investigates the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-assisted learning videos to enhance sustainability awareness among elementary students, an area where awareness remains low according to PISA data. A quantitative survey method was employed, utilizing a Likert-scale questionnaire to assess three aspects of sustainability awareness (behavioral, emotional, and practical) among 19 fourth-grade students at SDN 156 Palembang after video intervention. Results indicated a high level of sustainability awareness with a mean score of 3.5 (on a 4-point scale) and an overall percentage of 87.73%. All three aspects scored highly (86-89.2%), falling into the 'habits that are often/always done' category. The study concludes that AI-assisted learning videos are an effective tool for significantly improving sustainability awareness and behaviors in young learners, offering an innovative solution for environmental education

Abstract

This study aims to develop technology-integrated Problem Based Learning (PBL) teaching materials for Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) to improve the critical thinking skills of elementary school students. The research model used is research and development (R&D) with reference to the 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The research subjects were fourth-grade students at SDN 1 Bagik Payung and SDN 1 Terara. Data collection instruments included tests (pretest-posttest) and non-tests (expert validation questionnaires, student and teacher response questionnaires, and observations). The validation results showed that the teaching materials received a “Very Good” rating from technology experts, subject matter experts, and language experts. The small-scale pilot test demonstrated an average score increase from 59 to 88 at SDN 1 Bagik Payung and from 58 to 85 at SDN 1 Terara, with a moderate N-Gain category. The large-scale pilot test resulted in an average score increase from 57.33 to 89.33 at SDN 1 Bagik Payung and from 56.84 to 88.95 at SDN 1 Terara, with a high N-Gain category. Student and teacher responses to the product were also in the “Very Good” category. Thus, the PBL-based instructional materials integrated with technology developed have proven to be effective, feasible, and usable for enhancing elementary school students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Global environmental crises, driven by unsustainable economic practices, highlight the urgent need for a transition toward a green economy. Education plays a crucial role in this transition by fostering green behavior among the younger generation. However, a significant gap exists in the availability of specific teaching materials that integrate green economy concepts into the economics curriculum within a local context. This study addresses that gap by developing and testing a digital-based Green Economy Module for 10th-grade students in an environmentally vulnerable region. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, this study created a learning module that underwent rigorous validation by content, language, and graphics experts, achieving a "very feasible" rating (94.40%). The module's practicality was confirmed with a "very practical" rating from students (97.2%). A quasi-experimental design was used to measure effectiveness. The results showed that the module is significantly more effective than conventional methods in enhancing students' cognitive understanding. Furthermore, the module was found to be effective in shaping students' green behavior, raising the overall average from 59.6% to 70.6%. The findings confirm that a digital-based Green Economy Module, when developed with a contextual approach, can be an innovative and effective solution for improving student understanding and fostering sustainable behavior.

Abstract

Development of LKPD based on integrated PJBL Technology to improve student learning outcomes in elementary school mathematics subjects in grade V SDN 01 Terara using the ADDIE model. This research aims to develop PJBL-based LKPD that is integrated with technology by achieving the level of validity in the development process and the effectiveness of the developed LKPD. The data collected through observation and dissemination of questionnaires to expert experts and user response questionnaires, namely teachers and students. The quality of LKPD is measured based on two main aspects, namely the effectiveness of a product, and validity. The feasibility of the product was obtained through the evaluation of material experts, with a magnitude of 60%, a linguist's assessment of 70%, and a technologist's assessment of 63%. LKPD products based on PJBL integrated technology are said to be effective on the reciprocity of users by teachers by 71% and product users by students by 70.14%. Based on the results of the posttest and performance, the technology-integrated PJBL-based LKPD was also declared effective in improving student learning outcomes in mathematics subjects. Thus, it can be concluded that the PJBL-based LKPD product integrated with the technology developed is effective, and valid and suitable for use.

Abstract

This research explores the role and preservation of the Hikayat tradition in Denggen Village, Selong District, Lombok, and its impact on the community. Using a qualitative approach, the study involved in-depth interviews with 12 informants, including local community members, pembayun (hikayat readers), and traditional leaders, selected for their deep knowledge of the Sasak culture and tradition. The findings reveal that the Hikayat tradition serves key functions: as a medium for da’wah (religious preaching), moral education, and the preservation of cultural values. It also plays a critical role in fostering solidarity and strengthening social ties during traditional events. Despite challenges posed by globalization, the community continues to adapt the Hikayat tradition, modifying its delivery methods and incorporating translations to maintain its relevance. Concrete recommendations for its preservation include greater community involvement and targeted government support for cultural initiatives, ensuring the Hikayat’s sustainability in modern times

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of digital literacy on critical thinking skills and social studies learning outcomes among seventh-grade students at SMPN 1 Lenek. Employing a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design, the research involved both experimental and control groups, with the experimental group receiving digital literacy-based interventions. Data were collected using descriptive and inferential analyses, including normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing with SPSS software. The results revealed that students in the experimental group achieved higher post-test scores in both critical thinking skills (M = 74.44) and social studies learning outcomes (M = 84.44) compared to the control group (M = 55.56 and M = 59.44, respectively). The findings confirmed that digital literacy significantly improves students’ critical thinking abilities and academic achievement in social studies. This study highlights the importance of integrating digital literacy into classroom instruction to foster higher-order thinking skills and enhance learning outcomes.
