Abstract

Character education is an essential effort in shaping students to become individuals with good morals, particularly through strengthening the value of discipline. Schools play a strategic role in fostering students’ disciplinary character, one of which is through Scout extracurricular activities. This study aims to examine in depth the implementation of disciplinary character values through Scout extracurricular activities in fifth-grade elementary school students, along with the supporting and inhibiting factors. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, field notes, and documentation involving Scout instructors, fifth-grade classroom teachers, and fifth-grade students. The findings reveal that Scout extracurricular activities contribute to the implementation of disciplinary character through students’ compliance with rules, adherence to instructors’ directions, and responsibility in completing tasks. Supporting factors include cooperation among school members, instructors’ firmness, and adequate facilities and infrastructure. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors consist of differences in students’ motivation levels and limited activity time. The study concludes that Scout extracurricular activities are effective in fostering students’ disciplinary character when supported by consistent guidance and a conducive school environment.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out and analyze Implementation of multicultural-based Islamic religious learning for students in the era of globalization. This research method uses library  research used to collect data from various library sources relevant to the research topic. The data collection techniques employed by the researcher include documentation, with the researcher themselves serving as the core instrument. After the data is obtained, the researcher processes it by reading and analyzing it, then drawing conclusions. The findings of this study indicate that The application of multicultural-based Islamic religious learning to students can be implemented through: 1) preparing a Learning Plan, 2) the learning process takes place effectively through effective teaching.(effective teaching) and active learning (active learning), 3) Development of Islamic Religious Education Learning Materials based on multiculturalism and 4)Teacher competence in integrating multicultural values. This research provides a valuable contribution to the development of inclusive Islamic Religious Education learning strategies that are relevant to the multicultural context in Indonesia.

Abstract

Literacy reading skills, especially elementary school students, are crucial aspects. However, there is still a lack of quality books, particularly at the C level (Semenjana). The purpose of this research is to create a tiered storybook with Pancasila Student Profile content in digital and print formats. The research method used is a research and development (R&D). The research subjects consist of 21 school principals, 5 teachers, and 10 fifth-grade students from several elementary schools in  Moyudan District, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively. The result of this research is an analysis of the needs that are suitable for students' needs to create a tiered storybook product named "Cerita Seru Panca and Sila" containing all dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile accompanied by a reading learning module for fifth-grade that has been validated as suitable by experts and stakeholders. With this product, it is hoped that students can enjoy a pleasant reading experience while enhancing their literacy.

Abstract

This study examines the pre-learning cleanliness culture as a mechanism of the hidden curriculum in the internalisation of character among elementary school students. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews and documentation of school practices. The findings reveal that the internalisation of values does not occur through formal instruction but rather through repeated practices that directly shape moral experiences. Three main dimensions were identified: behavioral habituation that establishes patterns of discipline, teacher modeling that provides moral legitimacy, and school structures that maintain the consistency of these practices. The interaction of these three elements forms an implicit learning ecosystem in which values manifest as lived actions rather than merely as taught concepts. These findings also reveal that, without reflection, practices can lead to mechanical compliance, requiring a balance between action and awareness. The novelty of this research lies in the conceptualisation of the Embodied Hidden Curriculum, which positions everyday practices as the primary locus of character formation. This research contributes to expanding the discourse on character education by emphasising that the power of moral transformation often lies in simple actions consistently repeated within school life.

Abstract

The accelerating development of artificial intelligence (AI) has increasingly reshaped English as a Foreign Language (EFL) pedagogy, particularly in supporting language learning and linguistic development in higher education contexts. This study aims to critically examine the opportunities, challenges, and pedagogical implications of AI integration, with a specific emphasis on language skills development, particularly writing and speaking. Employing a qualitative research design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis involving English lecturers and EFL students. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify recurring patterns and experiences related to AI-supported language learning. The findings indicate that AI significantly enhances language learning by supporting the development of writing accuracy, grammatical control, and speaking fluency through immediate and adaptive feedback. AI also promotes learner autonomy and increases engagement in language production activities, enabling students to practice language skills beyond classroom constraints. However, challenges were identified, including students’ overreliance on AI-generated outputs and limited deep processing of linguistic forms. This study contributes to the growing body of research on AI in English language education by providing qualitative insights into how AI supports language learning processes and language skills development. The findings offer practical implications for designing pedagogically grounded AI-assisted language learning environments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of achievement motivation in problem-solving skills among male and female elementary school students. A descriptive qualitative method was applied with six fifth-grade students from SDN Rancapurut as participants, consisting of three males and three females. Data were obtained through problem-solving tests, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed thematically using Nvivo software. The findings indicate that female students tend to be more detailed and systematic in understanding and planning solutions, while male students are more efficient and pragmatic in execution. Achievement motivation serves as a key factor influencing students’ persistence and consistency across problem-solving stages.

Abstract

The policy of the full-day school system in Indonesia has a strong relevance to the psychological well-being of children. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Full Day School system on children's psychological development at SMPIT Luqman Al-Hakim Slawi, Tegal Regency. This research used a quantitative approach with a field research design. The population of this study consisted of all students, with a sample of eighth-grade students selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data collection techniques included questionnaires, observation, and documentation, while data analysis was conducted using normality test, linearity test, descriptive analysis, Pearson Product Moment correlation, simple linear regression, t-test, and coefficient of determination. The results showed that the Full Day School variable was in the good category with a percentage of 79.65% and children's psychological development was also in the good category with a percentage of 78.51%. There was a positive effect between Full Day School and children's psychological development with a correlation value of 0.574, which is categorized as moderate. The hypothesis test showed that the t-value of 6.902 was greater than the t-table value of 1.984, indicating a significant effect. In addition, the contribution of Full Day School to children's psychological development was 32.9%. Thus, the Full Day School system has a positive and significant effect on children's psychological development. Keywords: Full Day School; psychological development; education. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh sistem Full Day School terhadap perkembangan psikologi anak di SMPIT Luqman Al Hakim Slawi Kabupaten Tegal. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian lapangan. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa, dengan sampel siswa kelas VIII yang dipilih menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket, observasi, dan dokumentasi, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan melalui uji normalitas, uji linearitas, analisis deskriptif, korelasi Pearson Product Moment, regresi linear sederhana, uji t, dan koefisien determinasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan Full Day School berada pada kategori baik dengan persentase sebesar 79,65% dan perkembangan psikologi anak juga berada pada kategori baik dengan persentase sebesar 78,51%. Terdapat hubungan positif antara Full Day School dan perkembangan psikologi anak dengan nilai korelasi sebesar 0,574 yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa nilai t hitung sebesar 6,902 lebih besar dari t tabel 1,984 sehingga terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan. Selain itu, kontribusi Full Day School terhadap perkembangan psikologi anak sebesar 32,9%. Dengan demikian, sistem Full Day School berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap perkembangan psikologi anak.
