Abstract

This article discusses the use of technology and learning models on student learning outcomes and interests in elementary schools. In elementary schools, learning innovation is very important to improve education and student learning outcomes. Using technology and implementing innovative learning models as a strategy to make learning more effective, interesting, and meaningful. Interactive applications, digital devices, and online platforms are some of the technologies that help students be more actively involved in class, such as quizz application training, digital dictionaries, educational games, learning videos, and so on that make learning more fun and interactive. In addition, learning models such as project-based learning (also known as Project-Based Learning), cooperative learning Think Pair Share, and problem-based learning are used to improve student learning outcomes and increase their interest in learning in elementary schools. An effective combination of appropriate teaching techniques and technological support has been shown to improve student understanding, enthusiasm, and learning outcomes at the elementary school level. Thus, educators must continue to innovate and keep up with technological advances in order to provide optimal learning experiences for their students.

Abstract

One of the important competencies that elementary school students must have in learning Indonesian is understanding sentence structure. However, conventional learning approaches are often uninteresting and do not meet students' learning needs. The purpose of this study was to determine how effective books are as a learning tool in improving students' understanding of sentence structure in grade IV of SD Negeri 12 Langsa. This study used qualitative descriptive methodology and case studies. After the e-book was displayed during the learning process, the researcher gave students a questionnaire to find out their responses and their level of understanding of the material. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires with teachers. The study showed that the use of e-books increased students' attention, understanding, and interest in learning. Students can understand sentence structure more clearly and enjoyably thanks to the visual display and interactive features of the e-book. The results show that e-books can be an effective tool for teaching. In addition, these findings encourage teachers to use technology in teaching Indonesian in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research is a quantitative research using quasi-experimental design. Before receiving treatment, the experimental group and the control group were given a pre-test to evaluate students' science literacy. The location of the research was carried out on Jalan Lintas Riau, class IV SDN 0401, Pasar Ujung Batu Village, Sosa District, Padang Lawas Regency, North Sumatra Province. The research time was carried out in the odd semester in July-October 2024/2025. The sample of this study used 25 students, namely the experimental and control classes. The data collection technique for this study used tests and interviews. Based on the results of the study, the increase in students' science literacy skills was also strengthened by empirical findings in this study, where the average post-test score in the experimental class reached 80.16, much higher than the control class which only reached 73.20. In addition, the results of the t-test showed a very small significance value (p = 0.000056), indicating that the difference in learning outcomes between the two classes was not a coincidence, but a real result of the application of the CTL model. The fact that the experimental class showed lower variance in the posttest also indicates that the CTL model is able to balance achievement between students and reduce academic gaps.

Abstract

Character education has become a primary focus in many countries, including Indonesia. Parents play a crucial role in shaping their children's character, but there are still many challenges such as generational differences, busy schedules, and ineffective communication. According to 2022 data from BPS, 75% of parents recognize the importance of character education, yet 60% of children still experience difficulties communicating with their parents. This study emphasizes that character education begins within the family as the first educational institution. Through role modeling, advice, and habits, parents instill moral values in their children from an early age. Informal education—occurring at home and in the community—plays an important role in shaping behavior, including preventing the flexing behavior or excessive showing off, which has become common among students due to the influence of social media and social pressures. Collaboration between family, school, and society is necessary to instill values of simplicity and empathy, so children grow into moral and responsible individuals.According to Creswell (2014), qualitative research is a process to explore and understand the meanings that individuals or groups assign to social or human problems. This process involves methods such as interviews, observations, and analysis of texts or documents. This study aims to deeply understand the phenomenon of the impact of informal education on the flexing behavior of children at SDN 07 Marisa. This approach is chosen because it allows the researcher to explore the perceptions, experiences, and views of informants regarding the informal education received by children and how it influences their flexing behavior in the school environment.

Abstract

Science education in elementary schools plays a crucial role in shaping students’ early understanding of natural phenomena, including the concept of force and its effects on objects. However, many teachers still face challenges in delivering the material in a contextual and engaging way, which affects student participation in learning. This study aims to analyze the relevance of the science content on the theme “the effect of force on objects” and to evaluate the effectiveness of simulation-based learning in improving concept comprehension among fourth-grade students. A descriptive quantitative method was used with a simple experimental approach involving one class. The research instruments included observation, documentation, and posttest assessments. The results showed that 92.6% of students achieved the minimum mastery criteria after participating in the simulation-based learning process. These findings indicate that the use of simulations helps students better understand changes in motion and shape caused by force. The implication of this study highlights the importance of integrating interactive media and experiential learning approaches in science education at the elementary level to enhance student engagement and significantly improve learning outcomes.

Abstract

An effective learning process is the foundation or main idea in developing children's potential. Children's active contribution in the learning process is an important indicator of children's learning success. This article aims to analyze efforts that can be made to improve children's learning contributions effectively both from internal and external aspects. This study uses a qualitative, participatory, and daily life-relevant approach that can increase children's activeness in learning. Moreover, guidance from both parents and teachers is essential in fostering children's participation in learning. Collaboration between schools and families is a key factor in creating a supportive learning environment. Thus, efforts to improve children's learning contributions require not only the right pedagogical approach, but also an approach from the school, family, and social environment that supports the creation of a conducive, inclusive, and enjoyable learning atmosphere.
