Abstract

Household financial management is a crucial aspect in maintaining family economic stability; however, the level of financial literacy among the community, particularly housewives, remains relatively low. This condition leads to inadequate financial planning, lack of transaction recording, and low saving behavior. This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of housewives in managing household finances through simple and practical financial literacy practices in Tamallayang Village, Bontonompo District. The methods used include counseling, interactive discussions, budgeting practice, and evaluation through pre-test and post-test. The activity involved 20 participants from the local community. The results indicate a significant improvement in participants’ knowledge, with the “good” category increasing from 25% to 85% after the training. This demonstrates that contextual and practice-based learning methods are effective in enhancing financial literacy. Therefore, this program successfully encourages more disciplined and planned financial behavior, contributing to improved family welfare. It is recommended that similar programs be implemented sustainably and expanded to achieve a broader impact.   Keywords.:financial literacy, financial management, housewives, community service, financial management practices

Abstract

Organic waste generated from household activities such as food scraps, vegetables, and fruit peels contributes significantly to the increasing volume of municipal waste. Improper management of organic waste can cause environmental problems including unpleasant odors, greenhouse gas emissions, and increased pressure on landfill sites. Therefore, simple and sustainable waste management methods are needed at the household level. This study aims to introduce and evaluate the use of a stacked bucket composter as a practical solution for processing household organic waste. The method used in this study involves the design and implementation of a stacked bucket composting system consisting of several plastic buckets arranged vertically, where the upper bucket functions as the main composting chamber and the lower bucket collects the liquid produced during decomposition. Organic waste is added regularly and supported by natural decomposing agents to accelerate the composting process. The findings show that the stacked bucket composter can effectively reduce household organic waste while producing solid compost and liquid organic fertilizer that can be utilized for plant growth. The system is relatively inexpensive, easy to construct, and suitable for limited residential spaces. The implication of this study indicates that the adoption of stacked bucket composters can encourage community participation in sustainable waste management and contribute to environmental conservation by reducing the amount of organic waste disposed of in landfills.

Abstract

Village youth organizations (Karang Taruna) have traditionally functioned as activity implementers in village governance, with limited participation in data management and evidence-based decision-making. This community service program aimed to reposition Karang Taruna members as community-based data managers by strengthening their statistical and digital literacy capacities. Using a participatory capacity-building approach with 25 Karang Taruna members in Barru Regency, South Sulawesi, the program integrated hands-on training in basic descriptive statistics and cloud-based digital tools. Evaluation results indicate that 80% of participants were able to calculate activity participation rates using spreadsheets, while 72% successfully designed digital survey instruments using Google Form. Analysis of organizational behavior change reveals a significant shift from passive program execution toward active data stewardship and evidence-based program evaluation. The findings demonstrate that integrating statistical and digital literacy within youth organizations substantially strengthens youth civic engagement, promotes community data empowerment, and positions Karang Taruna as strategic digital inclusion agents within the village governance ecosystem. This repositioning enables youth to bridge the technological gap in village administration, thereby contributing to more participatory, transparent, and accountable village governance from a bottom-up perspective. Abstract

The fast advancement of information technology demands that students develop digital literacy skills, including proficiency in using word processing software such as Microsoft Word. However, in practice, many students have not yet fully mastered its use, especially in terms of proper document formatting. This study is intended to assess the effectiveness of Microsoft Word training in enhancing students’ competencies at SMP Negeri 1 Kedungbanteng. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation and questionnaires. The training was implemented using a hands-on method, enabling students to engage actively and gain practical experience. The findings indicate that the training produced a highly positive outcome, with all participants (100%) reporting an understanding of the material. Furthermore, 59.1% of students agreed and 40.9% strongly agreed that the material was easy to follow and useful. There was also a noticeable improvement in students’ technical skills in document preparation, including margin settings, text formatting, and table insertion. Additionally, the training boosted students’ confidence and motivation to learn technology. In conclusion, hands-on Microsoft Word training is proven to be effective in enhancing students’ fundamental skills and digital literacy. The results also emphasize the importance of implementing continuous practice-based training to support learning in the digital age.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of price and location on consumer purchase decisions at Nine Aces Pool and Cafe in Bandung City. The research was motivated by intense competition in Bandung's culinary sector, where affordability and accessibility play decisive roles in shaping consumer preferences. A quantitative approach was used with a survey method involving 96 respondents selected from a population of 2,171 consumers using the Lemeshow formula and proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination. The findings indicate that both price and location have significant partial and simultaneous impacts on purchase decisions. Location proved to be the dominant factor influencing consumer behavior, suggesting that strategic positioning and convenient accessibility are more influential than pricing alone. The study recommends that management optimize pricing strategies and enhance location-related facilities to strengthen customer loyalty and satisfaction.

Abstract

This activity aims to improve digital visual design skills among youth members of Karang Taruna RT 04, Tjitramas Residence, through the use of the Canva application. The background of this activity is the limited ability of youth in creating attractive and informative visual content for social media. The method used is action research with a mixed-method approach, consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The participants consisted of 25 youths who attended the training through material presentation, demonstrations, and hands-on design practice. Data collection techniques included observation, pre-test and post-test, and evaluation of participants’ work using a rubric-based assessment instrument. The results indicate an improvement in participants’ skills in using Canva, including feature understanding, creativity, layout arrangement, and relevance to the given theme. Most participants were able to produce visual designs suitable for social media publication such as posters, promotions, logos, social media content, and marketing materials independently.In conclusion, this training is effective in enhancing youth digital design skills and can serve as a medium for creativity development and promotion of community activities.

Abstract

. The longer it goes on, the more changes occur in the rapidly evolving world of technology. Humans today are greatly facilitated by activities that are more practical and require less effort. This development occurs in almost all areas of human life, from children to adults. Digital product development can be one solution to improve community welfare. Digital products themselves can take the form of applications, platforms, or systems that can assist people in various aspects of life, such as education, health, economy, and others. However, not everyone in society necessarily knows and understands digital products themselves. Therefore, training and mentoring are needed to increase the community’s digital capacity and develop it according to their needs. Digital product development can also boost the creative economy and open up business opportunities for the community. Therefore, developing digital products can be a strategy to improve community welfare and reduce social inequality. In achieving the objectives of this activity, the implementing team used a counseling/socialization method in an event. The implementing team, acting as tutors, provided knowledge while also assisting the training participants in mastering the training material. This allowed participants to master the material while simultaneously practicing with instructor guidance. The results of this activity show that the partner group, especially the youth organization members, felt happy and helped because they were able to create whatever they focused on in developing a digital product

Abstract

Proses Penerimaan Peserta Didik Baru (PPDB) di banyak sekolah pendanaan yayasan pendidikan masih dilakukan secara manual. Kondisi tersebut juga ditemukan di Yayasan Nurul Ulum Pungkuran Semarang, yang menaungi SD Nurul Ulum Pungkuran dan SMP Hasanuddin 3. Permasalahan utama meliputi proses administrasi yang lambat, potensi duplikasi data, kesulitan dalam verifikasi pembayaran, serta tidak adanya sistem berbasis web yang dapat diakses secara real time. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan merancang dan menerapkan sistem PPDB berbasis web yang terintegrasi dengan payment gateway Midtrans, serta melakukan pendampingan kepada tenaga administrasi agar mampu mengoperasikan sistem secara mandiri. Metode pelaksanaannya meliputi analisis kebutuhan, perancangan sistem, pengembangan sistem PPDB, uji coba, pendampingan, dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa sistem berjalan secara efektif, mempermudah proses pendaftaran, mempercepat verifikasi pembayaran, dan meningkatkan efisiensi administrasi. Evaluasi melalui Focus Group Discussion (FGD) menunjukkan bahwa sistem memenuhi kebutuhan mitra, mudah digunakan, dan sangat membantu dalam monitoring pembayaran secara real time. Abstract

The role of savings and credit cooperatives is fundamental to fostering local economic stability, especially in areas where access to formal financial services is still limited. However, cooperatives face challenges in managing finances effectively through the application of cash flow information utilization via structured and transparent cash flow statements. Therefore, the community service activity carried out took the form of socialization and training on preparing cash flow statements for the administrators of the savings and loan cooperative of residents of RT.003 RW.021 in the GPE Pamulang Timur housing complex, becoming a relevant step to improve managerial capacity, particularly in financial administration management. This activity was implemented using a participatory and collaborative approach through several stages, namely problem identification, field surveys, material preparation, conceptual and practical training on preparing cash flow statements, followed by systematic tracking and evaluation. The assessment indicated improved comprehension and competencies among participants regarding the delivered material. This improvement was evidenced by the rise in mean participant scores, from 53.8 pre-training to 81.3 post-training after the training, indicating a significant improvement in understanding. These findings indicate that socialization and practical training activities contribute positively to improving managerial literacy, particularly in cooperative financial governance. In addition, this activity also encourages increased transparency in cooperative financial management. More informative and easily understandable cash flow statements also enhance member trust and encourage active participation in cooperative management. This increased trust has the potential to reduce internal conflicts and support the sustainability and stability of the cooperative’s financial operations. Koperasi simpan pinjam (KSP) memiliki peran penting dalam memperkuat perekonomian masyarakat di tingkat lokal, terutama di daerah yang akses terhadap layanan keuangan formal masih terbatas. Namun, koperasi dihadapkan pada tantangan dalam mengelola keuangan secara efektif melalui penerapan pemanfaatan informasi arus kas melalui laporan arus kas yang terstruktur dan transparan. Berdasarkan pertimbangan tersebut, pendampingan pengabdian masyarakat diimplementasikan melalui diseminasi informasi dan peningkatan ketrampilan berupa edukasi dan pelatihan penyusunan laporan arus kas Pengurus KSP RT.003 RW.021, Perumahan GPE Pamulang Timur menjadi langkah yang relevan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas manajerial, khususnya dalam pengelolaan administrasi keuangan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan partisipatif dan kolaboratif melalui beberapa tahapan, yaitu identifikasi permasalahan, survei lapangan, penyusunan materi, pelatihan konsep dan praktik penyusunan laporan arus kas, serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta dalam memahami materi yang diberikan. Hal ini tercermin dari kenaikan nilai rata-rata peserta dari 53,8 sebelum pelatihan menjadi 81,3 setelah pelatihan, yang menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman yang signifikan. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa kegiatan sosialisasi dan praktik pelatihan memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap peningkatan literasi manajerial, khususnya dalam tata kelola keuangan koperasi. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga mendorong peningkatan transparansi dalam pengelolaan keuangan koperasi. Laporan arus kas yang lebih informatif dan mudah dipahami berkontribusi pada meningkatnya kepercayaan anggota. Program ini turut mendorong partisipasi aktif anggota dalam pengelolaan koperasi sehingga terbentuk kepercayaan dan motivasi yang lebih tinggi dari anggota. Peningkatan kepercayaan tersebut berpotensi mengurangi konflik internal serta mendukung keberlanjutan dan stabilitas operasional keuangan koperasi. Abstract

The rapid growth of information technology has made people use the internet in many daily activities, such as communication, education, and financial transactions like mobile banking. However, using public Wi-Fi without proper security can be risky, especially due to threats like sniffing, where attackers can intercept and access users’ data without their knowledge. This outreach activity aims to increase public awareness about the dangers of sniffing and the importance of safe internet use. The method used was a descriptive approach, including material presentation, interactive discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and questionnaires. The activity was conducted with members of the Dawis group in RT 09/RW 07, Kranji Village, East Purwokerto. The results showed that all participants (100%) understood the material, with 62.5% agreeing and 37.5% strongly agreeing that it was easy to understand and relevant to their daily lives. Participants also became more aware of the risks of public Wi-Fi and learned simple ways to stay safe, such as avoiding access to important accounts, using HTTPS, and enabling two-factor authentication. In conclusion, this activity successfully improved digital security awareness and encouraged safer and more responsible internet use.
