Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat dan Riset Pendidikan is a journal on Faculty of Education. Abstract

This study investigates the effect of a guided inquiry learning model assisted by Augmented Reality on students’ conceptual understanding and learning interest regarding convex mirror material. Using a quasi-experimental quantitative design, two groups were compared: an experimental class using guided inquiry with Augmented Reality and a control class using direct instruction. Normality and homogeneity tests indicated that the data met parametric test assumptions (p > 0.05). The t-test showed a significant difference in conceptual understanding between the groups (p = 0.000). The experimental group achieved a higher N-Gain score (0.67, moderate) than the control group (0.25, low), with an effect size of 2.058, indicating a strong impact. Additionally, student interest responses reached 90% (very high category). Overall, guided inquiry learning assisted by Augmented Reality proved effective in improving students’ conceptual understanding and learning interest in physics.

Abstract

This program aimed to enhance the competencies of elementary school teachers in Depok City in developing interactive digital learning media using the Wordwall application. The activities were carried out in the form of training and direct mentoring, focusing on the creation and implementation of game-based learning media. The implementation methods included demonstration, hands-on practice, and guided assistance. The results of the program indicate that participants were enthusiastic and successfully created simple learning media using Wordwall. Based on observations throughout the activities, the teachers demonstrated improved skills and increased interest in integrating digital technology into the teaching and learning process. This program is expected to serve as an initial step in supporting digital learning transformation in elementary schools.

Abstract

Reading ability is a fundamental foundation for academic success in elementary school students; however, many lower grade students still experience reading difficulties. This study aims to describe the implementation and impact of the Literacy Clinic Program through student teaching assistance in improving basic literacy at SDN 3 Selong. The research approach uses qualitative descriptive method with case study design. The population includes students from grades 1 to 4 experiencing reading difficulties, lower grade teachers, and student teaching assistants. Sampling technique uses purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana with source and method triangulation. Results show that the Literacy Clinic Program implemented twice weekly with varied learning methods successfully improved students' reading ability in letter recognition, reading fluency, and reading comprehension. The program also fostered reading interest, increased student confidence, and changed learning behavior positively. In conclusion, the Literacy Clinic Program proved effective as an intervention model to improve basic literacy and can be adopted by other elementary schools with multi-stakeholder collaborative support from schools, higher education institutions, and families.

Abstract

Character education is one of the important pillars in shaping individuals who are of integrity, moral, and responsible. This education aims to instill positive values such as honesty, discipline, cooperation, and empathy in daily life. However, the implementation of character education in Indonesia faces various complex obstacles, both from social, cultural, and systemic aspects. Factors such as the lack of alignment between the curriculum and field practices, limited training for educators, as well as the influence of unsupportive social environments often become the main barriers. In addition, technological development and globalization also bring new challenges, such as exposure to values that conflict with local culture. Therefore, understanding these obstacles is a crucial first step in designing effective strategies to strengthen character education in order to shape a generation that is morally and intellectually superior. The approach applied in this study is a qualitative approach. A qualitative approach serves as a research method that produces descriptive data in the form of writings or speech from individuals as well as observable behavior. Based on the results of the research conducted by the researcher regarding the obstacles teachers face in integrating character values into economic subject learning, these include the students' inherent character, the facilities and infrastructure available at the school, and most importantly, teachers do not yet understand how to instill character values into the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of Grade X Beauty and Spa 2 students in the subject Basic Vocational Competencies, specifically on the topic Facial Treatment for Non-Problematic Skin, through the use of gamified learning media at SMK Negeri 27 Jakarta. The research method employed is Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, implemented in three cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Gamified platforms such as Wordwall, Kahoot, and Gimkit were utilized to enhance student engagement and motivation. The results showed a progressive improvement in students’ learning outcomes across all three cycles, covering cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains.

Abstract

This study aimed to increase students' vocabulary proficiency by utilizing Kahoot! as an interactive learning tool at SMP Bhakti Pertiwi. It addressed the core issue of inadequate English vocabulary mastery, which impeded students' effective communication skills. The research employed the Classroom Action Research (CAR) model by Kemmis and McTaggart, conducted across four phases: planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. Participants included 26 eighth-grade students. Data collection involved vocabulary tests, classroom activity observations, and student feedback surveys. Results demonstrated a marked increase in average vocabulary scores, rising from 58.2 in the pre-cycle to 72.6 in Cycle I and further to 84.1 in Cycle II. Additionally, students' motivation and participation exhibited substantial enhancements. These outcomes indicated that Kahoot! integration effectively bolstered vocabulary acquisition and created a more dynamic and engaging English learning atmosphere. Consequently, the findings suggest that game-based educational platforms, such as Kahoot!, can be seamlessly incorporated into middle school English curricula to promote greater student involvement and enhance vocabulary retention.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) of Universitas Alkhairaat Batch LVI Group 104 carried out a flagship activity entitled Financial Literacy Seminar for Universitas Alkhairaat students. The seminar was held at the Faculty of Religion Auditorium and attended by 37 students from various study programs. The main objective of this seminar was to provide education about the importance of financial literacy among students to enable them to manage their personal finances wisely, intelligently, and productively. The method used an educative-informative approach through material presentation and interactive discussions. The results showed an improvement in participants’ understanding of basic financial literacy concepts, personal financial management, and awareness of saving and avoiding consumptive behavior. This activity is expected to serve as an initial step in strengthening the culture of financial literacy within the Universitas Alkhairaat academic community.

Abstract

Blora Regency is one of the national rice production centers in Central Java Province. The history of rice farming in this region has been well established since the era of the Mataram Kingdom and continued through the period of Indonesian independence. During the New Order government, the use of chemical fertilizers was heavily promoted to increase agricultural productivity. However, it has recently been recognized that the continuous and long-term use of chemical fertilizers has led to soil fertility degradation and a decline in productivity. Over time, maintaining productivity has required increasing amounts of chemical fertilizers each year. Aware of this vicious cycle, farmer groups in Blora Regency have started to move away from chemical fertilizers and transition toward organic farming practices. To support soil restoration efforts and improve the productivity of organic rice fields, the National Research and Innovation Agency introduced a microbe-based soil ameliorant. As a result, the health of rice fields improved, as evidenced by rice yields reaching 9 tons per hectare without the use of chemical fertilizers. Through organic farming practices supported by microbe-based soil ameliorants, production costs were significantly reduced, while organic rice could be sold at a higher price. This has the potential to enhance the welfare of farmers in the region.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to enhance local tourism potential through the development of tourism packages in the Tambang Ayam Tourism Village, Anyer, Serang Regency, Banten Province. Anyer is known for its high marine tourism potential, but this potential has not been optimally managed. The main problem faced by the community is the lack of integrated tourism packages that can integrate various attractions, culinary, cultural, and creative economic activities of the local community. Through this program, training, mentoring, and design of community-based tourism package models are carried out. The results of the activities show that the community is beginning to understand the concept of integrated tourism, is able to create simple tourism packages, and develops digital promotions to expand the reach of the tourism market. It is hoped that this program can become a model for sustainable empowerment in the development of tourism villages in Banten.

Abstract

The implementation of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) standard is a strategic step in enhancing the competitiveness and sustainability of Indonesia’s smallholder palm oil sector. This community engagement program aims to strengthen the capacity of palm oil farmers in the Talang Petai Village Community Cooperative (KMD Talang Petai), Mukomuko Regency—under the guidance of PT Agro Muko—in understanding and applying RSPO principles and criteria. The activities were carried out through training sessions, awareness campaigns, and institutional mentoring. The results show a significant improvement in farmers’ understanding of sustainability concepts, increasing from 42% to 85%, the adoption of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), and the establishment of a cooperative Internal Control System (ICS) as an RSPO certification.The collaborative approach involving academia, the private sector, and the community has proven effective in strengthening smallholder readiness for sustainable palm oil production.
