Abstract

The teaching of Natural Sciences (IPA) at the Elementary School level is undergoing significant changes with the emergence of innovative approaches such as Project-Based Learning (PBL). This article aims to explore the dynamics of interaction between teachers and students during the implementation of PBL in science education in the era of Society 5.0. Through interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis, this research documents teachers' experiences in designing and implementing challenging science projects that actively involve students. The project theme "Exploration of Local Ecosystems" takes center stage, allowing students to design real solutions to environmental issues around the school. The results of the analysis indicate that student engagement is very high, and teacher-student interactions are collaborative. Teachers provide guidance when needed, while students are given the freedom to take initiative and exhibit creativity in problem-solving. The use of technology, such as online platforms and specialized applications, is also seamlessly integrated to support student collaboration and enrich the learning experience. Formative evaluation and structured reflection provide in-depth insights into student progress and motivate them to continue learning. The integration of science concepts into the projects provides contextual understanding, enhancing students' grasp of the learning material. In conclusion, the implementation of PBL in science education at the Elementary School level has positively contributed to the dynamics of interaction, student engagement, and understanding of science concepts. Several recommendations for improvement are suggested, including the development of collaboration skills, diversification of learning media, and teacher training in technology use. This article is expected to provide guidance for educational practitioners in developing innovative science education in the era of Society 5.0.

Abstract

This study discusses the important role of academic supervisors in IAIN Ternate's Islamic Education Study Programme in meeting the needs of students in their academic journey. Supervisors are regarded as sources of academic advice, problem-solvers, and monitors of student activities, involving emotional and motivational support. Constraints such as time constraints and communication challenges arose, but the results showed the positive contribution of supervisors in resolving students' problems. Through a qualitative approach and interviews with five final-year students, this study identifies the situations where students and supervisors meet, the contributions of supervisors, and the constraints that arise. Students actively interacted with their supervisors throughout the semester, with the expectation that supervisors would always cooperate in solving problems, maintain their role as academic advisors, and be friendly and easy to talk to. This research is expected to provide a deeper understanding of student needs, contribute to the development of study programmes, and the overall improvement of Islamic higher education in IAIN Ternate's Islamic Education Study Programme.

Abstract

The purpose of this descriptive quantitative research is to determine how satisfied students are with BAK services at IAIN Ternate. The study population was 5th semester (odd) students of academic year 2023/2024, and 18 samples were used. Data was collected using a set of questionnaires for the 18 people who participated. Then, the data were analysed using descriptive statistics using IBM SPSS Statistic 20. The results obtained from the Analysis of Student Satisfaction with BAK Services using Descriptive Statistics research with the value of N or the amount of data is 18, the min value or the smallest number is 22, the max or the largest number is 40, and the mean or average value is 31.72 (32). The study found that BAK services at IAIN Ternate increased student satisfaction and that the quality of academic services (BAK) dominated substantially to the level of student enjoyment. In addition, the number of students who agree with BAK services can also have a positive impact on the level of student satisfaction.

Abstract

The scholarly discussion surrounding the implications of World English (WE) and English as a Lingua Franca (ELF) in English language teaching has been taking place for decades. As part of the expanding circle country based on Kachru's Three Concentric Circles, Indonesia considers English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and has been gradually influenced by the conceptual frameworks of WE and ELF. This study aims to critically examine the existing literature on the incorporation of ELF into EFL classrooms in Indonesia, with a focus on the following questions: (1) What are the types of ELF concepts that have been introduced to the EFL context in Indonesia? (2) How do teachers perceive and approach the incorporation of ELF in EFL classes? (3) What are the potential opportunities for incorporating ELF in the Indonesian EFL context? and (4) What are the potential challenges facing the incorporation of ELF in the Indonesian EFL context? The findings of this study reveal that the types of ELF in Indonesia can be found in code-mixing and the uniqueness of articles and plurals by Indonesian speakers of English in an ELF context. Half of the teachers observed in the studies were found to be familiar with ELF, with many potentials for implementing ELF in Indonesian EFL considering the fact that Indonesia is as a multilingual country with diverse linguistic culture, and many scholars working on policy recommendations. However, the challenges of ELF in Indonesia still exist due to the practices of native speakers' ideology in Indonesia that have arguably been implemented since the beginning of English language teaching in Indonesia.

Abstract

Top schools in Morotai Island Regency are schools that receive special attention from the Morotai Island Regency Regional Government. These schools are given special treatment and facilities from the Morotai Island Regency Education and Culture Office, which includes Unggulai 1 Middle School, Morotai Island Regency. For this reason, the Leading Public Middle School 1 Morotai Island Regency is an elementary school that has been designated by the Morotai Island Regency Education and Culture Office as a pioneering superior school at the basic education level. This school has implemented the superior school policy since the 2019 academic year as a school that has met the criteria for being a superior school in Morotai Island Regency. Therefore, researchers want to conduct research at this school. In this research, the approach or method used is a qualitative research method. The methods usually used are interviews, observations and use of documents. The data sources in this research include: (1) documents or archives; (2) sources (information); (3) events or archives; (4) place or location; (5) objects, pictures and recordings. Thus, the results of the research at the Leading Public Middle School 1, Morotai Island Regency, namely related to planning, implementation and evaluation of the superior school, Leading Public Middle School 1, Morotai Island Regency, have met 8 educational standards, the quality of graduates and the public's trust in the school. This can also be seen from the aspect of achievements obtained by the school while becoming a superior school in Morotai Island Regency.

Abstract

This research aims to delve into the role of the family in the education of children within the framework of Islamic law. The main focus of this study is to explore to what extent religious values, especially Islamic teachings on ethics and morality, are integrated into the education of children in urban Muslim families. The primary issue addressed is how daily religious practices and the role of parents in the family influence the formation of children's characters from the perspective of Islamic law. The research uses qualitative methods by employing in-depth interviews, observation, and document studies. The research subjects consist of five Muslim families in urban areas, selected randomly. The research findings indicate that the majority of parents emphasize religious values in the education of their children, and religious practices such as reading the Qur'an together and involving children in worship are key elements in the religious education in these families. In conclusion, urban Muslim families are able to integrate Islamic teachings into the education of children by actively involving parents and creating a supportive home environment. However, further efforts are needed to strengthen collaboration between families and schools, provide religious education training for parents, and develop creative and relevant educational resources for children. It is hoped that these efforts will support the shaping of children's characters in line with the principles of Islamic law.

Abstract

The type of research used in this research is the type of Classroom Action Research which we know as PTK (Classroom Action Research), with research subjects being fourth grade students at SD GMIH L.O.C, with a total of 18 students, consisting of 10 female students and 8 male students. -man. The aim of this research is to improve student learning outcomes through the Explicit Instruction learning method in science learning in class IV of GMIH L.O.C Elementary School, Morotai Island Regency. This research consists of two cycles and in general, there are four stages, namely (1) planning, (2) implementation, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. The results of research in cycle I showed that 4 students (22%) completed the total (18 students), while 14 students (78%) were unsuccessful. In cycle II there was a very significant increase in learning outcomes by (66%), so that the students who succeeded in cycle II were 16 students (88%) and those who were not successful were 2 students (11%). So that the learning process using the Explicit Instruction learning method can improve science learning outcomes on the subject of Fiber Roots and Taproots.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the differentiation approach in English language learning based on the Merdeka Curriculum at MtsN 2 Tidore, North Maluku. This qualitative study employs an instrumental case study design, involving 3 English teachers, 15 eighth-grade students, the principal, and the vice principal for curriculum. Data is collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The results show a comprehensive implementation of differentiation in terms of learning content, process, and product. Quantitative findings reveal significant improvements in learning outcomes (average score from 68 to 81) and specific language skills (speaking fluency +25%, vocabulary +32%, reading comprehension +20%). Qualitative data uncovers a transformation in student motivation, with 93% "enjoying class more" and 87% feeling "their uniqueness is valued." The study also highlights the synergy between differentiation and the Merdeka Curriculum, and illustrates ways to overcome implementation challenges through collaboration. In conclusion, the differentiation approach proves highly effective in this context, not only enhancing academic results but also changing how students view their potential. This research provides empirical evidence supporting the Merdeka Curriculum policy and affirms the value of learning that truly embraces student diversity.

Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of information technology usage on learning effectiveness in Indonesian higher education institutions. Utilizing a descriptive analytical quantitative approach, data were collected through questionnaires from 300 respondents, comprising 250 students and 50 lecturers. Results indicate that 85% of students and 78% of lecturers incorporate information technology into daily learning activities. Additionally, 79% of students reported improved material comprehension, and 82% indicated increased class participation. However, challenges such as limited internet access (32% of students) and the need for additional training for lecturers (45%) persist. These findings align with Vygotsky's constructivist learning theory and Mayer's multimedia learning theory, emphasizing the importance of interaction and media in enhancing understanding. Therefore, enhancing digital infrastructure and providing lecturer training are recommended to optimize technology-based learning in higher education institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse and describe the role of madrasah principal supervision in optimising teacher performance at MAN 1 Tidore City. Supervision of madrasah principals is carried out through supervision, monitoring, and evaluation of teachers in schools. The research was conducted at MAN 1 Tidore City by using descriptive qualitative research method. Data were collected through interviews, documentation, and observation, and analysed using Miles and Huberman techniques. The results showed that the supervision of the madrasah head at MAN 1 Tidore City has been carried out effectively in supervising teachers, so that in the process of improving teacher performance is increasing every year.
