Abstract

The performance of officials of the Office of Supervision and Service Customs and Gresik taxes is falling. This is due to the job motivation and career development in the Gresik Customs and Tax Supervision and Services Division. The study aims to identify and analyze the impact of motivation and career development on the performance of employees at the Customs and Tax Supervision and Services Office of Gresik District. The type of research used is a quantitative and explanatory approach. This analysis is used to measure the influence of free variables, namely career development and job motivation, on the bound variable, which is the performance of employees with the help of SPSS 25 software. The research results can conclude that motivation for work positively and significantly influences staff performance in the Customs and Customised Oversight and Service Office of the Gresik District. Career development significantly and positively impacts staff performance in the Gresik District of Customy and Control Office and Service.   Keywords: Employee Performance, Work Motivation, Career Development

Abstract

The objective of this research is to explain the effects of work discipline, work motivation, and workplace environment on employee productivity at PT Guntner Indonesia. Using simple random sampling, 130 employee were selected as the respondents. The data of this explanatory study was harvested from Likert-scaled questionnaires and was analyzed using multiple linear regression in IBM SPSS 27, after instrument test, classical assumption test, and statistical test had been performed. This study finds that (1) work discipline positively and significantly influences the productivity of employees at PT Guntner Indonesia, (2) that work motivation positively and significantly affects the productivity of employees at PT Guntner Indonesia, and that (3) workplace environment has positive and significant impacts on the productivity of employees at PT Guntner Indonesia. Therefore, the higher the employees’ work discipline and work motivation and the better the work place environment, the higher the productivity of the employees.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the construction industry on Java Island, particularly in Nganjuk Regency, has motivated the development of a business plan for Toko Bangunan Arfillah, a building materials retailer in Nganjuk, East Java. Nganjuk Regency has a very rapid infrastructure development, which has attracted the attention of many business players to this sector. This study aims to analyze and identify various factors that influence the level of competition in the building materials industry in the area. The research method used is qualitative, with data collection techniques including interviews and direct observations of the company. The data obtained indicate that Toko Bangunan Arfillah has a fairly stable financial condition. However, the high level of competition in Nganjuk Regency is a major challenge faced by the company. Therefore, one solution proposed in this study is to expand market share by utilizing promotional media widely used in Indonesia, such as social media, to increase the visibility and competitiveness of Toko Bangunan Arfillah. This research is expected to provide strategic insights for the development of the building materials retail business in this growing region.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the marketing mix consisting of promotion, price, product, and place on consumer loyalty at the Anik Frozen Food Purwodadi store. The population in this study uses Anik Frozen Food's Instagram followers, while 100 of them will be taken as a sample. The type of research used is quantitative. The sampling technique uses non-probability sampling by distributing online questionnaires. The analysis tool for data collection uses SPSS software version 25 with the Multiple Linear Regression analysis method of the Determination Coefficient (R2). The instrument tests used in this study are the Validity test and the Reliability test. The classical assumption tests in this study are the Normality test, the Multicollinearity test, and the Heteroscedasticity test. The data analysis test uses the F test and the t test.

Abstract

The MSME industry is one of the most important sectors in the Indonesian economy, as it acts as the main driver of economic activity in various fields. Several researchers have revealed that competitive advantage can be influenced by innovation and market orientation. This study aims to determine how innovation and market orientation affect competitive advantage in the owners of culinary MSMEs in the field of snacks and cakes in Malang City. This study uses a sampling technique, namely non-probability sampling technique with purposive sampling method. The sample size used was 100 respondents of culinary MSMEs in the field of snacks and cakes in Malang City. The data analysis method used is multiple linear regression analysis using the SPSS 27 programme. The tools used to test this research instrument are validity test, reliability test and classical assumption test. Furthermore, hypothesis testing was carried out using the F test and t test. Based on the results of the analysis, it shows that (1) innovation has a significant effect on competitive advantage, (2) market orientation has a significant effect on competitive advantage.

Abstract

This business development research, conducted in the form of a business plan, aims to design a business plan for the opening of Roti Mom B&B in South Cikarang. The background to Roti Mom B&B's business development is the significant growth of the food and beverage industry. This research identifies business opportunities and challenges through an in-depth analysis of five key aspects: product, marketing, operations, organization, and finance. The research method used was descriptive qualitative, with data collected through observation and literature review. The analysis indicates that Roti Mom B&B has significant market expansion potential, supported by consistent product quality and high market demand. However, several challenges remain, such as limited human resources and suboptimal digital marketing. The expansion plan involves strengthening operational systems, implementing a targeted digital marketing strategy, and establishing a more systematic organizational structure. In conclusion, opening a physical store in South Cikarang is deemed feasible to support sustainable business growth, with the potential for increased revenue and strengthening its market position.

Abstract

This research highlights the critical need to address factors influencing employee performance in government institutions, focusing on the Regional Development Planning Agency of East Java. It aims to analyze the effects of job stress and workplace environment on employee performance, with work-life balance serving as a mediating variable. Employing a quantitative explanatory approach, data were collected via questionnaires from 110  civil servants selected through purposive sampling from a population of  285 employees. Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) was used to analyze the data. The results reveal that job stress significantly affects employee performance, whereas workplace environment shows no direct effect on performance. Additionally, work-life balance positively influences employee performance and mediates the relationships between job stress, workplace environment, and performance. These findings suggest that managing job stress and fostering work-life balance are critical strategies for enhancing employee performance. The implications highlight the importance of developing stress management programs and promoting a supportive workplace environment to ensure optimal work-life balance and performance outcomes.

Abstract

Purpose – The objective of this research is to identify the needs and desires of customers of Cahya Alam construction material store as well as their satisfaction to each service attribute referring to the 7Ps marketing mix using Kano Model approach.   Design/methodology/approach – The data of this quantitative study was harvested from interviews and Likert-scaled questionnaires consisting of 22 functional and 22 nonfunctional statements. From the sample of customers of Cahya Alam, 120 of whom were selected as the sample through non-probability sampling method and purposive sampling technique. The data from the questionnaires were initially examined through validity and reliability tests in SPSS version 25.  Findings – The results were then analyzed utilizing the Kano Model, whose results indicate that attributes needing optimization are goods variations, discount availability, information availability for goods price via WhatsApp, more reliable and faster service process, and employees who position themselves as customer service staff.  Originality/value – This study uniquely integrates the Kano Model with the marketing mix to identify priority service attributes for improving customer satisfaction and competitiveness at Cahya Alam.

Abstract

Rivalries in the increasingly competitive culinary business has urged MSME in food and beverage sector to apply more effective strategies. The objective of this research is to enhance the business performance of Pecel Lesehan Pak Kasto using the human-centered business marketing strategy. The incorporated design thinking consists of empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and testing. The methods above led to the identification that customers do not merely seek physical fulfillment for food they also expect culinary experiences. The developed marketing strategy encompasses strengthening brand identity, enhancing service quality, and creating culinary unique experiences. This study finds that the application of this strategy improves brand awareness, customer satisfaction, and loyalty from both customers and potential customers. This research significantly contributes to the development of marketing sciences by highlighting the importance of human-centered design, particularly in culinary, for formulating effective marketing strategies. Using customers as the main factor for development, culinary entrepreneurs can establish a strong and continuous relationship with their customers and create sustainable competitive advantages. The findings above implied the necessity for culinary businesspeople to update their knowledge about customer needs and expectations as well as to adapt with changes in consumer trends.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to develop a visual identity for a graphic design service business, Studio Grafikku, in order to improve the brand awareness of its customers. The brand Grafikku has not been well memorized by customers in the industry. The branding media of the business has not been provided with a standard visual guideline regarding its logo, color, typography, and its graphic elements. The data of this descriptive qualitative study was harvested from interviews, observations, and documentations. The analysis was performed using Design Thinking for obtaining an overall description about the visual identity design that suits its customers’ preferences. The results of this study are in forms of visual identities for Grafikku that meets the expectation of its customers, which consist of logo, color, typography, brand name, and the used graphic elements. Further, the resulting visual identities were then implemented in media used for branding, such as social media, websites, and advertisement videos.
