Kalimatuna: Journal of Arabic Research is a forum for Arabic education researchers, intellectuals, and practitioners to publish and disseminate their original research and studies. The journal is published online by the Department of Arabic Education (PBA) of the Faculty of Educational Sciences (FITK), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, in partnership with PP-PBA (Association of Arabic Education Departments), PPJKBA Indonesia (Association of Arabic Journal Managers), and IMLA (Arabic Teachers Association of Indonesia). The primary scope and focus of the journal include: Alquran and Arabic language; Arabic linguistics studies in micro and macro terms; Balagah or Arabic stylistic; Language acquisitions of Arabic language; Pedagogical Arabic instructional as a foreign language and for non-native speaker; Policies on Arabic teaching. Kalimatuna: Journal of Arabic Research is published twice a year. Editors welcome scholars, researchers and practitioners of Arabic Education to submit scholarly articles to be published through this journal. All articles will be reviewed by experts before accepted for publication.

Abstract

Arabic learners often face various difficulties in reading activities. The research used the quantitative approach of the experimental method by non-equivalent control group design.  The study population for this research is 60 students.  The 30 students are decided to represent the experimental group and 30 students to represent the control group.  The researcher used the t-test rule in analyzing the data to reveal the effectiveness of using cooperative learning strategy.  As for the methods that the researcher used in all of them, they are: direct observation, personal interview, pre and post written test. The researcher concluded that the use of the cooperative learning strategy in the reading skill of pupils in this school is effective.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the form of phonological interference of Indonesian to Arabic and the magnitude of frequency of phonemes that experience said phonological interference in the reading of Surah al-Fātiḥah by non-Islamic boarding school students (Pesantren) of the Arabic Studies Program at the University of Indonesia. The research methodology that was used is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The primary data of this study came from questionnaires and respondent interviews while the secondary data came from library research such as books and literature that is related to the topics in question.  The results of this study indicate that there are several sound deviations made by the respondents; there is one vocalist interference in the vowel, and there are 12 phonological interferences in consonants. The highest frequency of consonant interference is in consonant ح/ħ/ by 11.60%, and the lowest at consonant ء/?/ by 0.44%.

Abstract

This study examined and explored how the "Asilaty" method is used as a method of learning Arabic with the Yellow Book at Al Isyraq Islamic Boarding School. This study used qualitative research methods with case study techniques. The process of collecting data through informants was carried out such as observation, interviews, and documentation, to get detailed information and descriptions of the analysis of the Asilaty method in learning the Yellow Book at the Al-Isyraq Islamic boarding school, West Jakarta. The results of the study proved that learning to read the Yellow Book using the Asilaty method at Al-Isyraq Islamic Boarding School can be carried out well and effectively and in a short time. This is because the "Asilaty" method has differences from the others, namely the preparation of books that are easy to understand, focus on understanding, and practice the material by always asking questions to all students evenly. In order to do their duties, students are obliged to do muthala’ah, mudzakaroh, takrar.

Abstract

Because of a lack of understanding of students' vocabulary, the researcher picked this issue. The goal of this research is to determine the extent to which children can comprehend vocabulary and communicate, as well as the relationship between vocabulary understanding and speaking skills. A descriptive quantitative method as well as a correlational approach were adopted by the researcher. The average score of the students' written and oral test scores was calculated using the arithmetic mean. Product Moment Correlation was utilized to analyze the data. A total of 52 pupils were chosen for this investigation. Written tests, oral tests, direct observation, and interviews were employed by the researchers in this study to collect data. Because there is a relationship between the two, research suggests that teaching vocabulary comprehension and speaking abilities is excellent and successful.

Abstract

This research is based on the problems students faced in learning Arabic vocabulary. This research aims to reveal the conduct of instructional vocabulary among students, knowing the students' ability to comprehend vocabulary, and revealing the results of instructional vocabulary after using the song and pictures. The researchers used experimental research method with a quantitative approach. The researchers prepared the pre-test and the post-test to collect data. After processing and analyzing the data, the researchers obtained the mean group of the students' post-test results, 50 in the experimental group and 74 in the control group. The evidence found shows that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. This means that the use of song and pictures in the process of teaching and learning vocabulary has a strong impact. The process of teaching and learning vocabulary using song and pictures among students has a strong impact on vocabulary comprehension.

Abstract

This study seeks to show students' abilities after utilizing the cartoon film medium to improve their dialogue skills in 10th grade students at Bekasi First Governmental Islamic High School, as well as to compare the results of the cartoon film media to the traditional technique. This study employs experimental research with a quantitative methodology, as well as the creation of a real-world experiment (one group, pre-test and post-test). The effectiveness of students' acquisition of dialogue skills development, understanding the content of dialogues, and learning outcomes in dialogue skill appeared after utilizing the cartoon video at a school. There is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test, indicating that using the cartoon film method to teach conversation to pupils is quite effective.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation and the advantages and disadvantages of the blended learning model in Arabic subjects in class VI SD Muhammadiyah 01 Kandang Panjang Pekalongan. The type of approach used is a qualitative approach. This type of research is field research (field research). The results of this study found that blended learning became a good learning model for its implementation in Arabic subjects at SD Muhammadiyah 01 Kandang Panjang, Pekalongan City during the covid-19 pandemic. The advantages of the blended learning model for Arabic subjects at SD Muhammadiyah 01 Kandang Panjang, Pekalongan City during the Covid-19 Pandemic include flexible learning, the use of good communication tools, and collaboration between teachers and guardians of students or teachers with learners. While the shortcomings are the lack of knowledge of teachers and students about learning technology and limited learning time.

Abstract

Researchers found obstacles in the vocabulary teaching process, including not using effective learning strategies and models in learning Arabic vocabulary. This study aims to reveal vocabulary learning procedures and the effectiveness of the make-a-match model in vocabulary teaching. This research used a quantitative approach and quasi-experimental methods with a non-equivalent group design model. The sample from this study was comprised of 22 students in grade 5A, Nurul Huda Sampora, as an experimental group, and 22 students in grade 5B, as a control group. The data collection techniques used are direct observation, personal interviews, pre-test and post-test, as well as documentation. Researchers used the T test formula in analyzing the data. Researchers concluded that the make a match model in the teaching of Arabic vocabulary is effective.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the correlation between motivation and speaking skills. This research uses descriptive quantitative approach and correlation method using the Product Moment Correlation formula. The data was collected using observation and distributing questionnaires. The sample of this research is 30 students. After the researchers distributed a questionnaire, the results obtained were 3.7 (74) with the predicate "medium" while the muhadasah score obtained the result 73.3 with the predicate "good". The result of the correlation between motivation and muhadasah for students is 0.589. The table value at the 5% level is 0.373 and at the 1% level is 0.478. Therefore, the calculated value is greater than the table value, which means that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected.

Abstract

This study discusses the management of the implementation of the Arabic language course program which was carried out intensively at the Markaz al-Lughah al-Arabiyah (MLA) Pondok Pesantren Annuqayah Madura. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method. Data was collected by observation, interviews, and documentation. The research instrument consisted of the researchers themselves, interview sheets, observation guidelines, recording devices, and writing instruments. Data analysis in this study was carried out by interactive qualitative analysis consisting of data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that: The management of the implementation of the Arabic language course at MLA based on bi'ah lughawiyah consists of learning achievement targets, teaching systems, compacting activities, class classification, textbooks, and daily evaluations. The results of this study indicate that the compulsory environmental management-based language course makes it easier for students to master the language well and quickly.
