Abstract

This study aims to develop flipped classroom-based teaching materials to enhance students' comprehension skills in English Correspondence, a critical course for fostering professional written communication in international business contexts. The research used a Research and Development (R&D) approach, specifically the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Expert validation of the materials yielded a high validity score of 86%. A small-group trial yielded an 84% practicality score, indicating the usability of the materials. Effectiveness was measured through a pretest and posttest, revealing a moderate improvement in student comprehension with an N-gain score of 0.54. These findings suggest that the flipped classroom model enhances students' engagement, supports independent learning, and strengthens both theoretical and practical understanding of English business correspondence. The developed materials demonstrate the potential of flipped classrooms in improving comprehension skills and learning outcomes in English Correspondence courses. This research highlights the practical implications of innovative teaching strategies in higher education.

Abstract

Education plays a pivotal role in shaping the development and sustainability of every nation, particularly in developing countries where educational advancement directly influences national progress. The Team Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model has been recognized for its potential to enhance students’ academic achievement, collaboration, and engagement. However, its effectiveness can be further optimized through the integration of digital interactive media that align with contemporary learning needs. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the TGT learning model supported by digital media through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) complemented by bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer. Relevant empirical studies were identified and reviewed to explore trends, research gaps, and the overall impact of TGT in digital learning environments. The findings indicate that digital-assisted TGT not only fosters active learning and motivation but also enhances critical thinking and teamwork skills. This review highlights the importance of integrating cooperative learning models with digital innovations to promote more interactive, engaging, and effective educational experiences.

Abstract

The demand for socio-emotional competencies in education increasingly emphasizes the importance of integrating affective literacy into Islamic pedagogy. This study aims to develop a framework for socio-emotional education grounded in Islamic values by examining affective literacy practices in religious learning. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through interviews with teachers and students, classroom observations, non-formal activities, and document analysis. These data were then analyzed through data condensation, display, and verification. The results of the study show three main findings: first, Islamic pedagogy is successfully integrated with affective literacy by linking verses and hadiths to students' emotional experiences; second, non-formal activities function as a socio-emotional laboratory to train empathy, patience, and cooperation; third, these practices produce a comprehensive framework that includes Qur'anic values, reflective learning, non-formal practices, and ongoing development. This study contributes by offering an Islamic alternative to the Western Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) model. This study recommends the application of an Islamic-based socio-emotional framework to strengthen moral and emotional intelligence in various educational institutions.

Abstract

This study evaluates the implementation of food security policies in Padang City through an adaptive governance approach, integrating William N. Dunn’s (2017) evaluation framework. The research aims to assess how local institutions, policy actors, and socio-ecological contexts influence the effectiveness, efficiency, equity, responsiveness, and appropriateness of food security programs. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were gathered through in-depth interviews with officials from the Food and Fisheries Agency, local business actors, and beneficiary communities, alongside document analysis of regional policy reports. The findings indicate that while programs such as “Gerakan Pangan Murah” (GPM), “Pekarangan Pangan Lestari” (P2L), and “Cadangan Pangan Pemerintah Daerah” (CPPD) contribute to local food access, challenges include limited budgets, weak cross-sectoral coordination, and low community participation. The adaptive governance framework reveals that local food policies in Padang are moderately effective but not yet efficient or equitable due to institutional fragmentation and insufficient climate adaptation integration. The study recommends strengthening inter-agency collaboration, developing data-based food information systems, and promoting participatory food diversification strategies. For education, these findings highlight the importance of integrating food security awareness and adaptive governance into educational curricula to foster future leaders who can address these challenges effectively.

Abstract

Curriculum management plays a central role in shaping the quality and character of Islamic education in madrasah institutions. This study aims to analyze the implementation of curriculum management and its effectiveness in improving educational quality through the integration of religious and national academic standards. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with school leaders, teachers, and staff, direct classroom observation, and document analysis. The results indicate that curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation are conducted collaboratively using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Products) model, emphasizing harmony between cognitive, affective, and spiritual domains. Regular evaluation cycles enhance the adaptability and relevance of learning materials to students’ needs. The study contributes a contextualized model of value-based curriculum management that strengthens the alignment between institutional vision and classroom practices. The findings highlight the importance of systematic, reflective, and integrative curriculum evaluation for sustainable educational quality improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) model in improving listening skills (maharah istima’) among students of the Arabic Language Development Program (PKPBA) at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the PBL model effectively fosters students’ active participation, motivation, and comprehension in Arabic listening activities. The learning process was carried out through systematic stages—listening to audio materials, repetition, interactive questioning, project creation, and presentation—which transformed the class atmosphere from passive listening to active, communicative engagement. The integration of the PBL model with the audiolingual approach strengthened students’ ability to comprehend Arabic sounds, vocabulary, and contextual meanings. In addition to cognitive gains, students demonstrated higher confidence, creativity, and collaboration when completing group video projects. Theoretically, this study supports the constructivist and humanistic learning perspectives that emphasize meaningful learning through experience and interaction. Practically, it provides insights for Arabic language educators to apply PBL as an effective pedagogical strategy for enhancing listening comprehension in higher education

Abstract

This study examines the effect of work discipline and the happiness index on employee performance at the Department of Education, Youth, and Sports of Tojo Una-Una Regency. A quantitative survey method with an associative approach was used, involving 60 proportionally random-selected respondents from a population of 182 employees. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 25. The results show that both work discipline and the happiness index simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with an R² value of 0.327. Partially, work discipline (p = 0.025) and the happiness index (p = 0.003) also have a significant effect. These findings indicate that improving employee discipline—such as compliance with working hours and task responsibilities—and enhancing psychological well-being can increase productivity and work effectiveness. The practical implication highlights the importance of human resource management strategies focused on discipline and emotional well-being to improve public sector performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of therapeutic communication and health education in enhancing the effectiveness of drug rehabilitation programs at the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Tojo Una-Una Regency. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving ten informants—seven rehabilitation clients and three officers. Data were analyzed using Miles, Huberman, and Saldana’s Interactive Model with the support of Nvivo 12 Plus software. The findings reveal that therapeutic communication, encompassing openness, empathy, supportive behavior, positive attitude, and similarity, fosters warm and trusting interpersonal relationships between officers and clients. Empathy-based and family-oriented communication motivates clients to recover from addiction. Furthermore, health education guided by the Health Belief Model (HBM) improves clients’ risk awareness, self-efficacy, and understanding of the benefits of behavioral change toward a healthy lifestyle. Continuous and contextual education helps clients build resilience and reduce relapse risk. These findings emphasize that the success of rehabilitation at BNN Tojo Una-Una is not solely determined by medical interventions but strongly relies on the quality of interpersonal communication and sustainable health education as empowerment strategies for clients’ holistic recovery.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the role of Aceh Pungo in maintaining the cultural identity of the Acehnese people in the midst of globalization and modernization. The term "Aceh Pungo" which is often misinterpreted as "Aceh Gila" actually reflects the character of the Acehnese people who are critical, courageous, and humorous in responding to various social, political, and religious problems. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method through observation, interviews, and documentation of the Acehnese people involved in the Aceh Pungo tradition. The results of the study show that Aceh Pungo plays an important role in preserving the language, social values, and cultural expression of Aceh through art, humor, and social criticism. Strong Islamic values are also the foundation in every form of cultural expression. Traditions such as kenduri, peusijuek, and saman dance became a medium to strengthen the identity and social solidarity of the community. Although the younger generation faces challenges due to modernization, the Aceh Pungo community has managed to integrate local culture with digital media as a new form of adaptation in the preservation of cultural heritage. This study confirms that Aceh Pungo is not a symbol of madness, but a representation of cultural intelligence and the determination of the Acehnese people in defending their identity.
