Abstract

Intrauterine devices are an effective form of long-term contraception. Interventions involving husband support are expected to increase the interest of women of childbearing age in choosing an intrauterine device. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of husband support in choosing an intrauterine device in Indonesia. Subjects and Methods: A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted using the PRISMA guidelines and the PICO model, including Population = women of childbearing age; Intervention = husband support; Comparison = no husband support; Outcome = choice of an intrauterine device. Articles were collected through a Health Journal database focused on Indonesia. The keywords used were: choice of IUD, husband support, Indonesia. A total of 11 articles met the inclusion criteria for the meta-analysis and were assessed using RevMan 5.3. Results: A meta-analysis of nine provinces in Indonesia showed that women of childbearing age who received husband support in choosing an intrauterine device were 12.30 times more likely to choose an intrauterine device than those who did not receive husband support, and this effect was statistically significant (OR= 12.30; 95% CI= 8.03 - 18.83; p <0.001). Conclusion: Husband support is highly effective in increasing the choice of an intrauterine device among women of childbearing age in Indonesia.

Abstract

Timor-Leste, a newly independent state, was declared a democratic state under the rule of law and respecting human dignity as a result of the struggle for the right to self-determination and human rights. In the process of building Timor-Leste as a state under the rule of law, Timor-Leste still faces many challenges, especially related to the lack of qualified human resources in all sectors, including justice and human rights. Basically, the rule of law means that the state is based on law. Law is a fundamental part of building an organized and organized state, while Timor-Leste chooses to follow the doctrine of civil law from continental Europe as a logical consequence inherited from Portuguese law, which states that law must be written, contained in a legal document, the constitution, codes, or in writing. But the state must also, beyond the supremacy of law, respect human rights issues. This means that Timor-Leste is a state governed by the rule of law, seeking to respect and value human rights. Respect for and appreciation of human rights is enshrined in the Constitution of Timor-Leste. The interpretation of fundamental rights in Timor-Leste must be in harmony with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The State is not based solely on law (as a state governed by law), but more than that, it is based on human rights, on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights; on respect for the dignity of the human person. Regarding the issue of justice, the Timor-Leste justice system must respect and value human rights. That is, every act of the Timor-Leste justice system must be applied in accordance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, with the primary objective of respecting and valuing human rights.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of blockchain technology in enhancing the integrity, transparency, and efficiency of financial accounting systems in the public sector. Using a qualitative research methodology, specifically a literature review, the paper examines key studies that explore the applications of blockchain in public sector financial management. The review synthesizes findings from various sources, including academic articles, books, and industry reports, to assess the potential benefits and challenges of implementing blockchain in government financial systems. The results suggest that blockchain's decentralized, transparent, and immutable features offer promising solutions to combat corruption, fraud, and inefficiency in public financial management. Blockchain can provide real-time, tamper-proof records, ensuring greater accountability in financial transactions. However, the adoption of blockchain technology in the public sector faces several challenges, such as scalability issues, energy consumption, and resistance to change in traditional governance structures. The study concludes that while blockchain has the potential to revolutionize public sector accounting, further empirical research is necessary to assess its practical applications in various public sector contexts. Future studies should focus on overcoming the technical, regulatory, and institutional barriers to blockchain adoption in government financial systems, particularly in developing economies where inefficiency and corruption are more prevalent.

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) strategies and the integration of integrity values in anti-corruption education within higher education institutions. The primary objective is to assess how these pedagogical approaches contribute to the development of ethical awareness and anti-corruption attitudes among university students. By utilizing a qualitative literature review method, this research synthesizes existing studies, articles, and academic papers that examine the intersection of PBL and integrity in anti-corruption education. PBL, with its emphasis on real-world problem-solving and active student engagement, is shown to promote critical thinking and ethical decision-making, which are crucial in understanding and combating corruption. The incorporation of integrity values within the curriculum further strengthens students' commitment to ethical behavior and social responsibility. Findings suggest that PBL not only enhances learning outcomes but also instills a deeper understanding of the importance of integrity in the fight against corruption. Moreover, the study identifies key factors that influence the effectiveness of these strategies, including faculty training, student participation, and institutional support. This paper concludes with recommendations for higher education institutions to implement PBL strategies and embed integrity values to foster a generation of students equipped to challenge corruption in their professional and personal lives.

Abstract

Academic anxiety is a common challenge for lower-grade elementary school students, often triggered by academic tasks, examinations, or teacher evaluations. Such anxiety can diminish concentration, reduce motivation, and hinder academic performance if left unaddressed. To address this issue, schools require interventions that are developmentally appropriate and effective. One promising approach is play counseling, which utilizes play as a natural medium for children to express feelings, confront fears, and develop coping strategies in a safe environment. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of structured play counseling in reducing academic anxiety while enhancing students’ motivation and self-confidence. A qualitative literature review method was employed, drawing upon academic articles, reports, and publications from 2015–2025 obtained through reputable databases including Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, PubMed, and SpringerLink. Articles focusing on play therapy, counseling, and academic anxiety among elementary school children were systematically analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that play counseling, particularly through non-directive play, cognitive-behavioral play therapy (CBPT), and child-centered play therapy (CCPT), significantly reduces academic anxiety by providing children with a safe medium for symbolic expression. Moreover, play counseling fosters motivation and builds academic self-confidence by reframing learning as enjoyable exploration rather than stressful evaluation. Case studies demonstrate improvements in classroom participation, test-taking resilience, and peer interaction. These results highlight play counseling as an effective psychosocial intervention that supports both emotional well-being and academic outcomes for young learners. The study contributes to developing adaptive play-based counseling strategies suitable for Indonesian elementary school settings.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of Bugis local wisdom into an innovative contextual learning model to enhance cultural literacy among junior high school students. Using a qualitative research approach through a systematic literature review, the study analyzes existing academic literature related to contextual learning, local wisdom in education, and cultural literacy. The findings reveal that contextual learning, when coupled with local wisdom, significantly improves student engagement and academic performance by making learning more relevant and connected to students’ cultural identities. The incorporation of Bugis cultural values and traditions, such as mutual respect and cooperation, not only strengthens students’ understanding of their heritage but also fosters a sense of pride and belonging. However, challenges such as the lack of adequate teaching materials and insufficient teacher training were identified as barriers to effective implementation. Despite these challenges, the study highlights the potential of this approach to serve as a model for other multicultural societies, advocating for a curriculum that balances global education standards with local cultural content. This research contributes to the growing body of literature on culturally responsive teaching and provides insights into how local wisdom can be integrated into educational systems to foster cultural literacy. The study recommends further empirical research to test the effectiveness of this model in real classroom settings and to explore its applicability in other ethnic contexts.

Abstract

Performance appraisal plays a crucial role in human resource management, particularly in providing an objective basis for appropriate compensation. Fair compensation based on accurate performance appraisals can motivate employees to improve their individual performance, thus positively impacting overall organizational productivity. This study aims to explore the role of performance appraisals in the compensation process and how they can improve individual employee performance. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a literature review, where data were collected from various journals, books, and scientific articles related to the topic of performance appraisal and compensation. The results show that clear and transparent performance appraisals not only serve as an evaluation tool for providing compensation, but also serve as a means to identify employee strengths and weaknesses, as well as provide direction for further development. Thus, effective performance appraisals can create a results-oriented work culture and encourage employees to strive harder in achieving organizational goals. This study contributes to the understanding of how compensation based on performance appraisals can be a driving factor for improving individual employee performance.
