Abstract

This study aims to integrate various high-level data analysis techniques in quantitative and qualitative approaches to produce a comprehensive understanding of educational phenomena. A mixed methods approach is used to systematically combine the strengths of numerical and interpretive analysis. In the quantitative stage, data were analyzed using advanced statistical techniques such as regression analysis, multiple regression, principal component analysis (PCA), discriminant analysis, canonical analysis, path analysis, factor analysis, ANAVA, ANCOVA, MANOVA, and MANCOVA to test the significant relationships, differences, and effects between variables. Meanwhile, the qualitative stage uses taxonomy/domain analysis, constant comparative analysis, and symbolic analysis to explore the deeper meaning of field data inductively and contextually. The use of the NVivo application supports the qualitative analysis process through thematic coding, visualization of conceptual relationships, and evidence-based data validation. The integration of these two approaches strengthens the internal and external validity of the research, increases the reliability of the results, and broadens theoretical and practical understanding in the context of modern education. The results of this study indicate that the application of a combination of high-level data analysis methods and qualitative analysis technology support is capable of producing richer, more accurate, and more relevant interpretations for the development of data- and meaning-based educational science.

Abstract

Digital transformation requires vocational higher education institutions to ensure that students possess digital readiness that goes beyond mere access to technology and encompasses critical, collaborative, safe, and ethical learning competencies. This study aims to assess students’ digital readiness in vocational higher education based on four key indicators: (1) digital access and operational skills, (2) information literacy and evaluation of digital sources, (3) digital content creation and collaboration, and (4) digital ethics, security, and professionalism. This research employed a mixed-methods approach using a sequential explanatory design. Quantitative data were collected through a 24-item closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire administered to 187 students, while qualitative data were obtained through limited interviews with students and lecturers. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and thematic analysis. The findings indicate that students’ digital readiness is generally at a moderately good level; however, disparities remain across the indicators. While access to digital devices and internet connectivity is relatively adequate, advanced operational skills, critical evaluation of information sources, digital collaboration, and awareness of digital security and professionalism require further strengthening. These findings highlight the importance of integrating critical digital literacy, project-based collaborative learning, and the reinforcement of digital ethics and security within vocational higher education curricula.

Abstract

Sexual education is a conscious and systematic effort carried out within the family, school, and community to provide children with an understanding of reproductive organs while instilling moral, ethical, and religious commitments to prevent sexual abuse and misconduct. This study aims to explore and conceptualize parenting education related to children’s sexual education from a Quranic perspective in order to enhance children’s responsibility and self-protection against sexual violations. The study employed a qualitative approach using content analysis, drawing data from relevant books, academic journals, and scholarly articles that are thematically aligned with the research focus. The findings reveal six core themes of parenting education on children’s sexual education from the Quranic perspective: (1) ethics of privacy and seeking permission (isti’dhān), (2) lowering the gaze and covering ‘awrah, (3) social interaction boundaries and the prohibition of adultery, (4) self-restraint and chastity (‘iffah), (5) understanding maḥram relationships, and (6) character formation in sexuality. These findings contribute conceptually to the discourse on Islamic parenting and may serve as a foundational reference for future studies examining children’s sexual education in different contexts and issues.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic boarding schools in developing santri leadership in society. As Islamic educational institutions, pesantren not only function to teach religious knowledge, but also to shape the character and leadership spirit of santri. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach, through literature analysis and observation of leadership practices in the pesantren environment. The results of the study show that Islamic boarding schools have two main roles in building student leadership. First, Islamic boarding schools serve as role models through the figures of kyai and ustadz who demonstrate leadership based on Islamic values. Second, Islamic boarding schools act as motivators by encouraging students to be active in organizational and social activities. The implications of this research confirm that Islamic boarding schools make an important contribution to producing a generation of leaders with noble character, integrity, and the ability to act as agents of change in society.

Abstract

Understanding the factors influencing professional practice among nursing students remains an important issue in nursing education. This study aimed to examine the influence of discipline, responsibility, motivation, communication, and spirituality on professional practice among nursing students. A quantitative cross-sectional design was employed involving 56 respondents selected through a total sampling technique. Data were collected using a structured five-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS software. The descriptive findings indicated that all variables were categorized as good to very good. Spirituality demonstrated the highest mean score (M = 4.45), while communication showed the lowest mean score (M = 4.10). Most respondents were classified in the good (60.7%) and very good (32.1%) categories. However, inferential analysis revealed that discipline, responsibility, motivation, communication, and spirituality did not simultaneously have a significant effect on professional practice (F = 1.20; p = 0.32). Partially, none of the independent variables showed a statistically significant effect (p > 0.05), although motivation demonstrated a tendency toward significance (p = 0.07) with a negative relationship direction. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R² = 0.10) indicated that the proposed model explained only 10% of the variance in professional practice. The findings suggest that professional practice among nursing students may be influenced by more complex contextual and environmental factors beyond the variables examined in this study. Future studies are recommended to incorporate additional variables and broader analytical approaches to obtain a more comprehensive understanding of professional practice in nursing education.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education and Character learning in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0 faces complex challenges in balancing the transmission of authentic Islamic teachings with the need for creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and digital literacy. Conventional approaches that emphasize memorization are often insufficient in fostering strong spiritual character. This study aims to explore the implementation of the Deep Learning approach in Islamic Religious Education and Character learning, focusing on how its principles mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning enhance students’ spiritual understanding and character development. This study employs a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and documentation to obtain comprehensive insights into the application of Deep Learning principles. The data were analyzed through thematic interpretation to identify patterns of implementation and their impact on learning processes. The findings indicate that constructivist-based lesson planning encourages students to develop a deeper and more contextual understanding of Islamic teachings. The implementation of Deep Learning principles through reflective discussions and experiential practices enhances students’ spiritual awareness, value internalization, and real-life application. However, challenges such as limited instructional time and the need for pedagogical adaptation were also identified. The study implies that the Deep Learning approach has significant potential to transform Islamic Religious Education into a more meaningful, student-centered learning process. It contributes to strengthening character education and supports the development of students who are both religiously grounded and adaptable to contemporary challenges.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the condition of Islamic religious education learning in schools, which has not yet achieved its ideal outcomes. Ideally, successful learning should be reflected in students’ attitudes and behaviors in their daily lives, contributing to positive personal development. However, this condition has not been fully realized, as instruction is still often conducted using conventional approaches that limit student participation and hinder the achievement of learning objectives. Therefore, this study aims to develop and examine the effectiveness of a deep-contextual teaching and learning model in Islamic religious education at the junior high school level. This study employed a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest and posttest approach with cluster random sampling. Data analysis was conducted using comparative statistical testing and gain score analysis to evaluate improvements in student learning outcomes. The findings indicate a significant difference between students’ performance before and after the implementation of the model, demonstrating a meaningful improvement in learning outcomes. The gain score analysis shows a moderate level of improvement, indicating that the model has a positive impact on student learning. The deep-contextual teaching and learning model is effective in improving learning outcomes in Islamic religious education at the junior high school level.
