Abstract

This study aims to integrate various high-level data analysis techniques in quantitative and qualitative approaches to produce a comprehensive understanding of educational phenomena. A mixed methods approach is used to systematically combine the strengths of numerical and interpretive analysis. In the quantitative stage, data were analyzed using advanced statistical techniques such as regression analysis, multiple regression, principal component analysis (PCA), discriminant analysis, canonical analysis, path analysis, factor analysis, ANAVA, ANCOVA, MANOVA, and MANCOVA to test the significant relationships, differences, and effects between variables. Meanwhile, the qualitative stage uses taxonomy/domain analysis, constant comparative analysis, and symbolic analysis to explore the deeper meaning of field data inductively and contextually. The use of the NVivo application supports the qualitative analysis process through thematic coding, visualization of conceptual relationships, and evidence-based data validation. The integration of these two approaches strengthens the internal and external validity of the research, increases the reliability of the results, and broadens theoretical and practical understanding in the context of modern education. The results of this study indicate that the application of a combination of high-level data analysis methods and qualitative analysis technology support is capable of producing richer, more accurate, and more relevant interpretations for the development of data- and meaning-based educational science.

Abstract

Digital transformation requires vocational higher education institutions to ensure that students possess digital readiness that goes beyond mere access to technology and encompasses critical, collaborative, safe, and ethical learning competencies. This study aims to assess students’ digital readiness in vocational higher education based on four key indicators: (1) digital access and operational skills, (2) information literacy and evaluation of digital sources, (3) digital content creation and collaboration, and (4) digital ethics, security, and professionalism. This research employed a mixed-methods approach using a sequential explanatory design. Quantitative data were collected through a 24-item closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire administered to 187 students, while qualitative data were obtained through limited interviews with students and lecturers. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and thematic analysis. The findings indicate that students’ digital readiness is generally at a moderately good level; however, disparities remain across the indicators. While access to digital devices and internet connectivity is relatively adequate, advanced operational skills, critical evaluation of information sources, digital collaboration, and awareness of digital security and professionalism require further strengthening. These findings highlight the importance of integrating critical digital literacy, project-based collaborative learning, and the reinforcement of digital ethics and security within vocational higher education curricula.

Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim of determining the effect of using animated videos on improving English skills and student motivation. This type of research is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental research design with one experimental class and one control class. This study was conducted by giving a test before treatment. Then, a test was conducted after the treatment using animated video media in the experiment class and using conventional techniques in the control class. The sample in this study was 23 students from grade VII.4 as the experimental class and 23 students from grade VII.5 as the control class. Data collection techniques used in this study were tests, questionnaires, and interviews. The tests were analyzed using the mean and gain comparison formulas. The results showed that there was an effect of using animated video media in English learning to improve students' speaking skills and motivation. This can be seen from the mean value in the experimental class of 82.00 and the mean value in the control class of 76.96, and student motivation was 81.50 (very high). Meanwhile, the gain comparison for the experimental class was +25.54, and the gain comparison for the control class was +17.61. It can be concluded that there is a significant influence on the use of animated video media in English learning to improve students' speaking skills and motivation.

Abstract

Sexual education is a conscious and systematic effort carried out within the family, school, and community to provide children with an understanding of reproductive organs while instilling moral, ethical, and religious commitments to prevent sexual abuse and misconduct. This study aims to explore and conceptualize parenting education related to children’s sexual education from a Quranic perspective in order to enhance children’s responsibility and self-protection against sexual violations. The study employed a qualitative approach using content analysis, drawing data from relevant books, academic journals, and scholarly articles that are thematically aligned with the research focus. The findings reveal six core themes of parenting education on children’s sexual education from the Quranic perspective: (1) ethics of privacy and seeking permission (isti’dhān), (2) lowering the gaze and covering ‘awrah, (3) social interaction boundaries and the prohibition of adultery, (4) self-restraint and chastity (‘iffah), (5) understanding maḥram relationships, and (6) character formation in sexuality. These findings contribute conceptually to the discourse on Islamic parenting and may serve as a foundational reference for future studies examining children’s sexual education in different contexts and issues.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic boarding schools in developing santri leadership in society. As Islamic educational institutions, pesantren not only function to teach religious knowledge, but also to shape the character and leadership spirit of santri. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach, through literature analysis and observation of leadership practices in the pesantren environment. The results of the study show that Islamic boarding schools have two main roles in building student leadership. First, Islamic boarding schools serve as role models through the figures of kyai and ustadz who demonstrate leadership based on Islamic values. Second, Islamic boarding schools act as motivators by encouraging students to be active in organizational and social activities. The implications of this research confirm that Islamic boarding schools make an important contribution to producing a generation of leaders with noble character, integrity, and the ability to act as agents of change in society.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the planning and implementation of Islamic Religious Education learning based on Project Based Learning (PjBL). The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design to gain an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon. The subjects consist of Islamic Religious Education teachers, school principals, and students from grades four and five, serving as the primary and secondary data sources. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation to ensure comprehensive and triangulated data. Data analysis is conducted through data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions to provide a thorough interpretation of the findings. Prior to the learning process, the teacher prepares detailed lesson plans and learning devices to guide the implementation. The Project-based learning (PjBL) steps consist of project orientation, group division, project planning, implementation, presentation, and reflection, which are systematically carried out to foster active student engagement. This method encourages students to work collaboratively, develop creativity, and apply their knowledge in producing real projects. The findings of this study offer valuable insights into effective strategies for planning and implementing Project-based learning (PjBL) in Islamic Religious Education, emphasizing the importance of systematic preparation, teacher facilitation, and active student participation. The study highlights that when well-planned and executed, Project-based learning (PjBL) can enhance the quality of learning by making it more meaningful and relevant to students’ lives.

Abstract

Student participation in campus worship activities represents an important indicator of religious engagement within Islamic-based higher education institutions. However, attendance in congregational prayer activities at campus mosques remains relatively low. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing students’ low participation in campus worship activities. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, and examined using thematic analysis. The findings reveal that low participation is influenced by internal factors, including levels of religiosity, worship motivation, and time management, as well as external factors such as academic workload, peer dynamics, intensive gadget use, and suboptimal institutional religious programming. In addition, facilities and institutional strategies for strengthening religious culture contribute to students’ attendance rates. These findings highlight the need for integrated institutional policies and structured religious engagement strategies to enhance student participation in congregational worship within higher education settings. This study contributes to the discourse on student religiosity by highlighting the interplay between institutional structures and individual religious motivation in shaping campus worship participation.
