Abstract

This study analyzes the amalgamation of the pesantren curriculum and secondary education at STIT Buntet Pesantren Cirebon, focusing on Islamic tenets and academic criteria within the framework of modern education. This study aims to elucidate the implementation of the integration of the pesantren and higher curriculum at STIT Buntet Pesantren Cirebon, as well as to identify the elements that facilitate and impede its achievement. Employing a qualitative case study methodology, data are collected via participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis from the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Head of Study Program, and students. This study explains that the integration process centers on three fundamental pillars: faith, knowledge, and charity, with a strong emphasis on moderation (wasathiyah) in the curriculum. Although integration has been successful, the problem lies in the use of pesantren values as indicators in academic evaluation, and character development in the classroom takes time. This study emphasizes the importance of optimizing the implementation of an integrative curriculum, contributing to the literature by demonstrating the application of Islamic principles in the context of practical and academic education.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the researcher's interest in examining the leadership success system of Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah principals, particularly the leadership methods applied to improve the quality of education. The head of Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah is considered capable of bringing positive changes every year, improving the quality of education even though the facilities and infrastructure are not yet adequate, and becoming a role model for teachers and students. In addition, the head of Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah has an open attitude towards change by providing training to teachers and conducting comparative studies with other Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah. This condition is different from the two comparative Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah, which show weak leadership that has resulted in the stagnation and even demise of the institution. This study aims to determine the system of successful leadership of the head of Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah in improving the quality of education at Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah. This study uses a qualitative method with a field study approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, with instruments in the form of observation guidelines, interview guidelines, and documentation guidelines. Data analysis results were carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and data verification, while data validity was tested through source triangulation and method triangulation. The results of the study show that the leadership of Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah applies three main methods, namely uswatun hasanah, democracy, and transformational. The application of these methods has a positive impact on the moral character of students, increased participation of teachers, parents, and the community, as well as the development of teacher quality, enthusiasm for learning, and curiosity about new knowledge. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference in the development of leadership at Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah to improve the quality of education.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education and Ethics in the era of the 4.0 industrial revolution and 5.0 society face complex challenges between the transmission of authentic Islamic teachings and the need for creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and digital literacy. The conventional approach that emphasizes memorization often fails to shape a strong spiritual character. Deep Learning, as part of artificial intelligence, is introduced as a solution with the principles of mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning. This approach is in line with the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes active student participation and the integration of technology for 21st-century skills. This study examines the implementation of Deep Learning in junior high schools through observation, interviews with Islamic Education teachers, and documentation. The results show that constructivist-based lesson plan (RPP) planning encourages students to construct a deep and applicable understanding of religious teachings. The implementation of Deep Learning principles, such as reflective discussions and hands-on practices (e.g., qurbani sacrifice), enhances spiritual awareness, internalization of values, and application in real life. Despite challenges such as time constraints, this approach has the potential to create a religious and adaptive golden generation in 2045.

Religious guidance leads to patterns of guidance such as prayer and morals. Not all of the guidance programs carried out are running as they should in accordance with the objectives of religious guidance in Madrasah Aliyah. The data sources used are primary and secondary data sources. The data collection techniques are interviews, observation, and documentation study. The data analysis techniques are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings of this study show that the pattern of student worship guidance is divided into two methods. First, the individual method, which is how students are taught to be responsible for themselves, including in performing prayers even when they are not in the Madrasah Aliyah environment. The second method is group work, which teaches students to be responsible to the group. Students are accustomed to working in groups and being responsible for their group. The groups are divided into two types: large groups and small groups. Meanwhile, the pattern of character building for students refers to the 10 characters of Asmaul Husna, with an emphasis on role modeling.

Abstract

This article critically analyzes the madrasah as a central institutional apparatus in the formation and development of Islamic education during the Abbasid period. Rather than functioning merely as sites of knowledge transmission, madrasahs operated as epistemic and socio-political institutions that shaped intellectual authority, religious orthodoxy, and social stratification. Employing a qualitative library research design, this study conducts a critical historiographical analysis of classical and contemporary sources. The findings reveal that, particularly through the Nizamiyyah Madrasah, the Abbasid educational system underwent a process of institutional consolidation marked by curriculum standardization, the integration of revealed (naqli) and rational (ʿaqli) sciences, and the professionalization of pedagogical practices. Moreover, madrasahs functioned as mechanisms of ideological reproduction, contributing to the consolidation of Sunni orthodoxy and the stabilization of Abbasid political authority. This study argues that the Abbasid madrasah represents a foundational model for the structural and epistemological configuration of formal Islamic education, offering enduring theoretical implications for contemporary Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

The Islamic tradition during the classical era made a significant contribution to the formation of civilization in education and the development of science. This discussion includes the roles of teachers and students in the classical Islamic tradition, emphasizing educational relationships, scientific ethics, and the methods of knowledge transmission that developed during that period. Teachers were positioned not only as transmitters of knowledge but also as moral and spiritual role models possessing scientific authority and moral integrity. Meanwhile, students were viewed as active subjects in the learning process, who were required to possess good manners, sincerity, and a commitment to the pursuit of knowledge. The success of classical Islamic education was largely determined by a harmonious reciprocal relationship between teachers and students, grounded in religious, ethical, and spiritual values. This is relevant for reflecting on the contemporary educational process so that it focuses not only on cognitive aspects but also on the development of students' character and morals.
