Abstract

Character education plays an important role in shaping students' personalities, including moral, ethical, and social values. The Merdeka Curriculum, which has been implemented since 2022, provides opportunities for the integration of character education into learning in elementary schools. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of character education in the Merdeka Curriculum, as well as the challenges faced by teachers in implementing character values in daily learning. This study uses a qualitative approach with interviews and observations of teachers in several elementary schools. The results show that integrated character education can improve students' positive attitudes and behavior, but the biggest challenge is the lack of teacher skills in implementing character consistently. Therefore, this study recommends the need for more intensive teacher training to integrate character education into every aspect of learning.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the role of elementary school teachers in shaping students’ empathetic character through the use of Indonesian folktales, particularly those originating from West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). West Nusa Tenggara folktales contain diverse moral values that can teach students empathy the ability to understand and share the feelings of others. Using a content analysis approach, this study explores how folktales from Sasak communities in Lombok and Sumbawa can serve as tools for instilling empathy in classroom learning. The findings indicate that folktales enable students to recognize and apply the concept of empathy in their daily lives. Furthermore, the article illustrates how teachers can act as effective facilitators by employing folktales as meaningful and contextually relevant learning media.

Abstract

The phenomenon of declining interest among children in religious activities indicates the need for more practical and continuous family education in instilling religious values. The family plays a primary and essential role in shaping the spiritual foundation of children through habit formation and role modeling. This study aims to explore family-based Islamic education strategies in fostering independence in worship among young children through prayer and fasting activities. This study uses a qualitative method with a library research approach, namely by reviewing and analyzing various scientific sources such as accredited journals, books, and the latest research results (2021–2025) relevant to the theme of worship habits in Muslim families. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques with stages of reduction, theme categorization, and conclusion drawing oriented towards theoretical findings and Islamic education practices in the family. The results of the study show that effective religious habits for children can be built through three main aspects: parental role modeling, consistent worship routines, and strengthening the religious environment at home. In addition, the targeted use of digital media and positive communication within the family also strengthen children's spiritual motivation. This study produced the concept of the Islamic Family Worship Habituation Model as a practical strategy for fostering spiritual independence in early childhood. The implications of the study emphasize the importance of synergy between families, Islamic educational institutions, and the social environment in shaping a generation of Muslims who are independent, have strong character, and are rooted in the values of faith and piety.

Abstract

This article examines the professional ethics of teachers, which form the moral and professional foundation for carrying out their duties as educators in Islam. The purpose of this study is to analyze the ethical values inherent in the teaching profession and their relevance in shaping character and the quality of Islamic education. This research uses a qualitative method based on literature study by examining classical and contemporary literature related to the concept of teachers in Islam. The results show that the professional ethics of teachers are an integral part of teaching duties, requiring teachers to always act fairly, honestly, trustworthily, and uphold noble moral values in all educational interactions. The essence of teachers in Islam includes the terms murabbi, mu'allim, and mu'addib. Teacher professionalism in Islamic education is seen in the Qur'an, among others, that teachers must be trustworthy, have integrity and honesty, and be able to be role models for students. The implications of this study emphasize that strengthening the professional ethics of teachers is not only important for improving the quality of Islamic education, but also serves as a foundation for building a generation with character, noble morals, and readiness to face the challenges of the times. This article discusses the professional ethics of teachers in Islamic education.

Abstract

This study examines the contribution of Muslim scholars to the transformation of Islamic Education in Indonesia by highlighting two main forms of work: physical work in the form of establishing institutions, curricula, and infrastructure, as well as non-physical work in the form of ideas, methodologies, and educational ethics. Through a systematic literature review approach, this study found that the synergy between the institutional and intellectual dimensions built by figures such as KH. Ahmad Dahlan, KH. Hasyim Asy'ari, Nurcholish Madjid, Azyumardi Azra, Haedar Nashir, and Quraish Shihab became an important foundation for the renewal of Islamic Religious Education. Physical works provide an implementative space for strengthening the values of religious moderation and digital literacy, while non-physical works form a framework of ethics and rationality in modern Islamic learning. The results of the analysis show that the integration of moderation, digitalization, and Artificial Intelligence in Islamic Religious Education expands the function of religious education as a means of forming an inclusive and civilized society. However, methodological limitations in existing studies require a longitudinal and mixed methods approach to verify the causal relationship between intellectual ideas and the transformation of Islamic education. In practical terms, this study recommends strengthening empirical research on Islamic Religious Education, providing digital ethics training for educators, and promoting collaboration among universities in developing a values-based and technology-based Islamic curriculum.

Abstract

Digital transformation has brought fundamental changes to public relations practices in Indonesia. The role of public relations is no longer merely as a conveyor of information, but has evolved into a reputation manager and guardian of public trust in the dynamic era of digital communication. This study aims to analyze the transformation of public relations strategies in facing the challenges and opportunities of digital communication, as well as how these innovations contribute to the formation of a credible and adaptive institutional image. This study uses a literature review method, examining various research results and scientific publications from 2019 to 2024 that are relevant to the themes of digital public relations strategies, public communication, and reputation management. The results of the study show that the transformation of public relations strategies includes changes in the aspects of role, technology, and ethical orientation. Public relations practitioners are required to master digital literacy, public data analysis, and the ability to manage issues and crises in the online space. In addition, the use of artificial intelligence (AI), chatbots, and social listened strengthens the effectiveness of communication, although it needs to be balanced with the principles of transparency and social responsibility. The conclusion of this study confirms that the success of public relations in the digital era depends on the ability to integrate technology, creativity, and human values to build a sustainable institutional reputation.

Abstract

Education is a conscious and planned effort to create a learning environment and learning process so that students can develop their potential to have spiritual strength. One of the famous Muslim scientists known for his knowledge is Ibn Sina, who emphasized the integration of rationality and morality, as well as the holistic development of individuals. This study aims to analyze Ibn Sina's concept of education in terms of objectives, curriculum, methods, and the role of educators, and to assess how this concept can be applied in the modern Islamic education system. This article examines the Islamic educational thinking of Ibn Sina, one of the greatest polymaths in the history of Islamic civilization. Through a descriptive-analytical approach, this study outlines the basic concepts, objectives, curriculum, learning methods, and concepts of teachers and students from Ibn Sina's perspective. The results of the study show that Ibn Sina's educational thinking is holistic and integral, combining spiritual and rational aspects into a harmonious whole. Principles such as ta'dib (character building), tadrij (gradualism), individualization, and integration of knowledge demonstrate the sophistication of his thinking, which is relevant to the challenges of contemporary Islamic education, particularly in addressing the dichotomy of knowledge, moral crisis, and the need for individualized learning. Implicitly, Ibn Sina's thinking encourages a holistic contemporary Islamic education curriculum that combines intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual aspects and emphasizes that character building (morals, responsibility, honesty) must be an integral part of the learning process

Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of developing language skills in early childhood, particularly at As-Salam Hutarimbaru Kindergarten in Lembah Melintang District, West Pasaman Regency. Based on the results of observations, it was found that many children were unable to develop their language skills optimally. One of the reasons for this was that teachers often used lecture methods, which made children feel bored and less interested in learning. The research methodology used was qualitative and a case study approach. Based on the research results and data analysis, it can be concluded that: i) The storytelling method was implemented systematically and planned, using media such as picture books and hand puppets that made children more interested and active in learning, ii) There was a significant improvement in children's language skills, marked by their courage to speak, increased vocabulary, and their ability to understand and retell the story, iii) Teachers play an important role in optimizing the storytelling method through creative strategies and collaboration with parents, so that children's language stimulation can also take place at home. The results of this study can be used as preliminary data for future researchers in examining this issue in different contexts and issues.

Abstract

This study aims to explore ethics and language use on social media by the digital generation. Social media has become the main communication platform for this generation, but inappropriate language use and unethical behavior are often significant problems. This study uses a qualitative method, conducted by collecting data through in-depth interviews to analyze how the digital generation understands and applies ethics and chooses language in their interactions on social media. The findings show that although the digital generation has a sufficient understanding of the importance of ethics and good language, they are often caught up in social dynamics that lead to violations of ethical norms. This study also found that education and awareness of digital ethics are very important in shaping more responsible online behavior. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the development of policies and educational programs aimed at improving digital literacy and ethics among social media users.

Abstract

The curriculum in Indonesia continues to evolve in response to the country's conditions. The transition from the 2013 Curriculum (K13) to the Merdeka Curriculum (KM) marks a fundamental shift, particularly in the assessment paradigm. This study aims to analyze how the Merdeka Curriculum is designed based on evaluation, focusing on the philosophical shift and practical implementation of diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a library research approach. Primary and secondary data were analyzed from 17 references, including official guidelines from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, textbooks, and scientific journal articles (2018-2025). The results of the analysis show that the Merdeka Curriculum replaces the rigid Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) with more flexible Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP), which can be compiled using criteria descriptions, rubrics, or value intervals. The essence of this shift is the strengthening of formative assessment as assessment for learning and assessment as learning, which aims to continuously improve the learning process. Diagnostic assessment (cognitive and non-cognitive) is now required at the beginning to map students' needs. While summative assessments continue to be used as assessments of learning to measure final achievement, authentic assessments, such as performance assessments, projects, and portfolios, are strongly encouraged to measure 21st-century competencies in real-world contexts. The implication of these findings is that there is an urgent need for more practical teacher training to address misconceptions about implementation and improve assessment literacy.
