Abstract

School-age children represent an important phase in the human life cycle, characterized by rapid growth and development, both physically, psychologically, and socially. During this phase, nutritional needs increase significantly to support optimal growth. However, various nutritional problems are still frequently found among elementary school children, such as undernutrition, overnutrition (overweight and obesity), and micronutrient deficiencies such as anemia. In Indonesia, nutritional problems among elementary school-age children remain an important public health issue. Unbalanced dietary patterns, the habit of skipping breakfast, consumption of fast food, and low nutritional literacy are the main factors influencing the nutritional status of elementary school children. The purpose of this activity, as an effort to improve the health of elementary school-age children, is expected to increase the knowledge of students at SD Negeri 060801 Medan. The activity was carried out on June 29, 2026, from 09.00 to 12.00 WIB (Western Indonesia Time), at SD Negeri 060801 Medan. The methods used included lectures, discussions, and questionnaire administration. Based on the pretest questionnaire results, the participants' level of knowledge was categorized as good for 11 people (36.6%), sufficient for 12 people (40.0%), and poor for 7 people (23.3%). Meanwhile, based on the posttest questionnaire results, the participants' level of knowledge was categorized as good for 20 people (63.3%), sufficient for 7 people (23.3%), and poor for 3 people (10%).

Abstract

This Community Service Program was conducted in Adirejo Village, Pekalongan, East Lampung, with the aim of enhancing practical English skills among MSME actors to support the marketing of local products in global markets. The program was designed as a practical English class tailored to business needs, focusing on product description writing, basic business communication, and digital marketing strategies. The implementation applied a task-based learning approach through stages of preparation, counseling, training, mentoring, and demonstration. The results showed significant improvements: 80% of participants successfully wrote product descriptions in English with appropriate grammar and marketing vocabulary, 70% actively used English in simulated business conversations, and 60% produced promotional content in English for social media and marketplaces. Furthermore, participants’ confidence increased by 22% based on pre- and post-program questionnaires. These findings confirm that practice-oriented training effectively strengthens MSMEs’ capacity to interact with international buyers and expand their market reach. In conclusion, this PKM program successfully provided applicable English skills relevant to MSMEs’ needs, while also developing a replicable learning model that can be implemented in other regions as a sustainable community empowerment strategy.

Abstract

Background: Stimulation, Early Detection, and Early Intervention for Child Growth and Development (SDIDTK) is an essential strategy for identifying developmental deviations at an early stage, enabling timely intervention. Early childhood teachers play a strategic role in implementing SDIDTK but require adequate competency through technical training. Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of SDIDTK Technical Guidance (Bimbingan Teknis/Bimtek) in improving the knowledge of PAUD/RA teachers in Magetan Regency. Methods: A one-group pretest–posttest design was conducted involving 71 PAUD/RA teachers participating in a two-day technical training. Data were analyzed descriptively and using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Results: The proportion of participants with good knowledge increased from 5.64% to 63.38%, while poor knowledge decreased from 74.64% to 0%. Overall, 92.96% of participants demonstrated improved scores, with a statistically significant difference (p < 0.001). Conclusion: SDIDTK technical training effectively improved teachers' knowledge and has the potential to strengthen SDIDTK implementation and early identification of child growth and developmental disorders.

Abstract

Elementary school students are at risk of sports-related injuries during physical education, extracurricular activities, and play, while their knowledge of appropriate first aid remains limited. This community service program aimed to improve students' preparedness in providing basic first aid for sports injuries at SD Negeri 060801 Medan. The program was conducted through health education using lectures, interactive discussions, demonstrations, and simulation of first aid procedures for common sports injuries. Educational media and simple first aid equipment were utilized to facilitate students' understanding and active participation. The evaluation results showed an improvement in students' knowledge and preparedness to recognize sports injuries, perform appropriate initial responses, and seek assistance from teachers or health personnel when necessary. The program also increased students' awareness of the importance of safe behavior during sports activities. This educational intervention is expected to support the development of a safer and more prepared school environment in managing sports-related emergencies.

Abstract

The limited availability of sanitation facilities and technical understanding among the community in Busoa Village poses a risk of contaminating clean water sources and threatening environmental health. This community service project aims to prepare a Site Plan Design Document (2D Plan Layout) for the construction of individual-scale septic tanks for 25 targeted households that comply with engineering standards. The methodology employed an engineering spatial mapping and two-dimensional site planning approach executed through three main stages: a GPS-based geotagging survey, draft digitization using CAD software, and participatory validation with residents and local government via Focus Group Discussions (FGD). This initiative successfully produced an A3-standardized 2D Site Plan Design Document in both hardcopy and softcopy formats. This output serves as a technical guideline for self-managed community sanitation arrangement and acts as a blueprint for local governments in planning settlement programs and distributing sustainable sanitation assistance

Abstract

Financial literacy remains an underdeveloped fundamental skill among elementary school students in Indonesia—specifically in Pelalawan Village—where students tend to spend their entire daily allowance without the habit of setting aside a portion for savings. This community service initiative aimed to enhance financial literacy understanding and instill a saving habit from an early age among students at SD Negeri 001 Pelalawan. The program was conducted over two days using an educational-participatory approach combined with hands-on learning; activities included interactive presentations on currency recognition, the "3D" method for verifying banknote authenticity, and financial literacy concepts, alongside educational games and a practical session on decorating piggy banks made from used cardboard. The results demonstrated the students' enthusiasm and active participation throughout the sessions, indicating improved understanding of money management and a stronger motivation to save consistently using the piggy banks they had created themselves.

Abstract

The demand for stable, high-speed internet access has driven internet service providers to adopt Fiber to the Home (FTTH) technology as a superior solution compared to copper cable and wireless networks. This study aims to describe the installation and configuration process of FTTH services for new customers at PT Regynet Data Solusindo. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using direct observation, interviews with technicians, and fieldwork conducted over approximately four months. The results show that the installation process consists of site surveys, fiber-optic cable pulling, splicing and patch cord installation, installation of Optical Network Terminal devices, and service activation and testing, all supported by administrative activities and network infrastructure maintenance. This study concludes that structured FTTH installation procedures improve efficiency and the quality of customer service, as well as provide practical contributions to the development of students’ technical competencies and soft skills in the field of networking and telecommunications.

Abstract

This article reports an IT management system implementation carried out during a five-month internship as IT Support at a golf and country club company (PT. Sukapraja Estetika Padang Golf). Amid the digital transformation trend in the hospitality and sports industry, the company faced manual, fragmented processes and limited data integration across departments. Using a participatory single-case approach, the activity covered network infrastructure maintenance, database management (income clearance, transaction recap, and cross-checking), and development of a membership service website prototype. Results indicate that data recording became more centralized and traceable, cross-department reporting was simplified, and network reliability improved, described qualitatively rather than through formal quantitative measurement. This activity offers practical lessons on IT service management in a niche hospitality segment and highlights the value of structured university-industry internship collaboration.

Abstract

The development of information technology has encouraged the use of web-based information systems to support digital data management and activity documentation. This study aims to design a web-based information system for internship activity documentation at CV Rega Berkah Mandiri. The research method includes observation, system design, implementation, and testing using the Black Box Testing method. The results show that the developed system facilitates more structured and efficient management of internship data and activity documentation while improving data storage and retrieval.

Abstract

Menopause is a natural stage in a woman's life that is often accompanied by physical and psychological changes resulting from decreased estrogen levels. Limited knowledge of the factors influencing menopause may reduce women's readiness to cope with this transitional period. This community service program aims to improve women's knowledge and promote healthy lifestyle practices through research-based health education on the determinants of menopause. The methods employed include interactive health education sessions, group discussions, menopause exercise demonstrations, healthy nutrition education, distribution of educational leaflets, and the involvement of community health volunteers (Posyandu cadres) as facilitators. Program evaluation is conducted using pre-test and post-test questionnaires to assess participants' knowledge improvement. The expected outcomes include increased knowledge among menopausal women, the availability of sustainable educational materials for Posyandu cadres, and the establishment of a menopause support group to strengthen community empowerment.
