Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between life satisfaction and fear of missing out (FoMO) among college students using social media in Medan City. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The study subjects were 385 students selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through life satisfaction and FoMO scales, then analyzed using the Spearman's rho correlation test because the data did not meet the assumption of a normal distribution. The results showed a negative and significant relationship between life satisfaction and FoMO with a correlation coefficient value of -0.201 and a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05). This finding indicates that the higher the student's life satisfaction, the lower the tendency to experience FoMO. Based on empirical categorization, students have a high level of life satisfaction and FoMO in the moderate category. Although the relationship between the two variables is relatively weak, this study contributes to understanding the psychological factors related to social media usage behavior in college students, particularly the importance of increasing life satisfaction as one aspect that can support the management of FoMO tendencies.

Abstract

The Wonorejo Mangrove Ecotourism Site in Surabaya faces challenges in sustaining visitor loyalty amid high tourist visitation. This study aims to analyze the effect of ecotourism facilities on visitor satisfaction and to determine the extent of their contribution. A quantitative approach with a causal correlational design using simple linear regression analysis was applied. The study involved 100 respondents selected through accidental sampling. The analysis results show a regression equation of Y = -3.114 + 0.418X with a t-statistic value of 53.964 and a significance value of 0.000 (less than 0.05). These findings prove that ecotourism facilities have a positive and significant effect on visitor satisfaction. Furthermore, an R-squared value of 0.967 indicates that 96.7% of visitor satisfaction is determined by the facility factor, while the remaining 3.3% is explained by other variables outside the model. The high coefficient of determination reflects a strong homogeneity of experience among visitors when interacting with the physical attributes of the destination. Based on these results, the management is recommended to continuously maintain and optimize the quality of physical infrastructure as a core tangible element to maintain positive confirmation, maximize visitor satisfaction, and encourage repeat visitation in this urban conservation area. .

Abstract

Family economic education plays an important role in shaping children's economic behavior from an early age. Amid growing environmental sustainability issues, Green Economy values can be instilled through habits of frugality, wise consumption, and responsible resource management. This study aims to analyze the role of housewives in teaching Green Economy values to children through family economic education. The study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design conducted in Rimbo Bujang District. The research informants consist of housewives and children. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model with the help of NVivo 12. Data validity was tested through source and technique triangulation. The research results show that housewives play a role as educators, role models, guides, and supervisors in instilling Green Economy values. This process is carried out through setting an example, habituation, communication, and involving children in managing family finances. The impact is seen in children's habits of using money according to needs, saving, conserving electricity and water, and reusing items that can still be used. This study concludes that family economic education can be a strategic way to shape sustainable consumption behavior from an early age. These findings contribute to the development of family economic education studies based on sustainability.

Abstract

The decline in the effectiveness of the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) tariff preference scheme and the dynamics of export product competitiveness raise questions about the factors that influence Indonesia's export performance. This study aims to analyze the influence of GSP tariff preferences, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and export competitiveness as measured by the Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) index on Indonesia's Crude Palm Oil (CPO, HS 1511.10) export performance to India during the 2010–2024 period. The study uses a quantitative associative-causal approach with the Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) method based on secondary data obtained from UNCTAD, the World Bank, and the ITC Trade Map. The results show that GSP tariff preferences have no significant effect on export performance, while GDP and RCA have a positive and significant effect. Simultaneously, the three variables are able to explain 72.1% of the variation in export performance. In addition, RCA does not moderate the relationship between GSP and export performance, but significantly strengthens the influence of GDP on export performance. These findings indicate that Indonesia's improved export performance is more determined by strengthening economic capacity and product competitiveness than by solely utilizing preferential trade facilities. The research's implications emphasize the importance of enhancing industrial competitiveness and refining export policy strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Kawan Pasar Kamu Community in preserving the local wisdom of Pakpung Malay Music in Denai Lama Village through facilitative, educational, representative, and technical roles. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with purposively selected informants, namely the community leader and two members who act as artists, Pakpung drum-making instructors, and Pakpung Malay Music players. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results show that these four roles form a complementary preservation ecosystem. The facilitative role provides space, opportunities, and means to maintain the sustainability of musical practices; the educational role transmits knowledge, skills in playing music and making Pakpung drums, as well as Malay cultural values; the representative role expands the existence of Pakpung Malay Music through performances and social media; while the technical role ensures the sustainability of activity management and maintenance of musical instruments. Thus, the Kawan Pasar Kamu Community contributes not only to maintaining the practice of Pakpung Malay Music, but also to passing on knowledge, skills, and cultural values to the younger generation and expanding public recognition of the existence of this music as part of local wisdom.

Abstract

The low smash accuracy of male volleyball athletes from Surya Bakti Padang Club is thought to be related to the athletes' physical condition, one of which is the explosive power of the leg muscles. This study aims to analyze the relationship between explosive power of the leg muscles and smash accuracy and to identify the statistical contribution of explosive power of the leg muscles to smash accuracy in male volleyball athletes from Surya Bakti Padang Club. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The study sample consisted of 15 male volleyball athletes selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using the Vertical Jump Test to measure explosive power of the leg muscles and a smash accuracy test to measure smash accuracy. Data analysis included normality tests, homogeneity tests, Product Moment correlations, significance tests, and coefficients of determination. The results showed a very strong positive relationship between explosive power of the leg muscles and smash accuracy, with a coefficient of determination of 94.5%, indicating a large variation in smash accuracy that was statistically related to explosive power of the leg muscles in the study sample. These findings indicate that the development of explosive power of the leg muscles can be one aspect that needs to be considered in developing a training program to support the improvement of smash accuracy, although other physical and technical factors also have the potential to influence this ability.

Abstract

The assembly process of automation machine enclosures based on aluminum profiles at PT XYZ is still performed manually at low working positions, causing workers to frequently adopt bent, squatting, and prolonged sitting postures. These conditions may increase the risk of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs), which can reduce worker comfort and productivity. This study aims to analyze the level of working posture risk in the enclosure assembly area, identify the body parts experiencing the highest level of discomfort, and design a work aid to reduce ergonomic risks. The research employed the Nordic Body Map (NBM) method to identify musculoskeletal complaints and the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method assisted by Ergofellow software to evaluate working posture risks. The results indicated that the dominant complaints were experienced in the back, lower back, neck, shoulders, and hands. The REBA assessment produced a score of 7 for the first worker, categorized as a medium risk level, and a score of 8 for the second worker, categorized as a high risk level. Based on these findings, an ergonomic work chair was designed with adjustable height, back support, and wheels to improve work flexibility. The implementation of the proposed work aid is expected to reduce the risk of MSDs, enhance worker comfort, and improve productivity in the enclosure assembly process

Abstract

The stalled Mojopahit Marine Park (TBM) project in Mojokerto City has become an interesting public issue because it involves allegations of irregularities in regional budget management and raises the role of the media in shaping public understanding of an event. Studies on corruption reporting have so far focused more on legal aspects and social impacts, while studies on how local media construct meaning through language choices in reporting are still limited. This study aims to analyze the construction of meaning built by Radarmojokerto.Jawapos.Com in discussing the alleged corruption in the TBM project. The study uses a constructivist paradigm with a descriptive qualitative approach based on M.A.K. Halliday's social semiotic theory which includes the field of discourse, the tenor of discourse, and the means of discourse (mode of discourse). Data were obtained through the analysis of 15 news texts from February–October 2025, in-depth interviews with editors, and documentation analyzed using triangulation. The research findings show that the media construct the TBM issue as a matter of alleged misappropriation of public funds, presenting a discursive relationship between public supervisors, law enforcement, and local governments, and employing linguistic strategies such as metaphor, personification, hyperbole, and euphemism to reinforce the news message. These findings demonstrate that local media not only convey facts but also contribute to shaping social reality through the practice of linguistic representation.

Abstract

Revitalization of traditional markets aims not only to improve the quality of facilities but also to encourage sustainable management through the application of the Green Building concept. However, the implementation of this concept in traditional markets still faces various challenges. This study aims to analyze the application of Green Building in the revitalization of Pasar Raya Padang Phase VII, identify the obstacles encountered, and examine the efforts made to overcome them. The study used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation of purposively selected informants, including the Padang City Trade Office, Pasar Raya Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD), traders, visitors, and WALHI West Sumatra. Data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model. The results show that the revitalization of Pasar Raya Padang Phase VII has integrated most of the Green Building principles, characterized by improvements in the quality of facilities, cleanliness, comfort, and more sustainability-oriented market management. However, its implementation has not been optimal due to constraints on inter-agency coordination, less than optimal utilization of facilities, low awareness of some traders, and limited management capacity. These findings confirm that the successful implementation of Green Building in traditional markets does not only depend on the provision of infrastructure, but also requires strengthening governance, collaboration between stakeholders, and increasing human resource capacity to ensure the sustainability of market management.
