Abstract

This study investigates the role of Tapak Suci, an extracurricular martial arts program, in shaping the character of students at MI Muhammadiyah 4 Kandat. The primary focus of the research is on how Tapak Suci contributes to the development of responsibility, discipline, and social character among students, addressing the growing concern over character education in schools. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research employed in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis to collect data from the head of the school, Tapak Suci trainers, and students. The findings reveal that Tapak Suci activities promote responsibility through punctuality and adherence to training rules, discipline through structured routines, and social character through collaborative exercises. These findings highlight the potential of physical activities, particularly those with a moral and religious foundation, in fostering well-rounded character development in students. The study suggests that Tapak Suci can serve as a model for other schools aiming to integrate character education into extracurricular programs. The results also open avenues for future research on the long-term impact of martial arts-based character education across various educational contexts.

Abstract

This research focuses on the effectiveness of the Ulama Cadre Student Standards (SSKU) program in shaping the character of students at Madrasah Aliyah Almaarif Singosari. The research method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach, which involves in-depth interviews, observations, and the collection of documents related to the SSKU program. Through data analysis conducted using Miles and Huberman interactive techniques, the study found that the SSKU program successfully instilled religious and social values in students. A thorough evaluation showed that students' involvement in religious activities increased, and they actively led social events such as tahlil and yasin. Students also report increased self-confidence and social skills, signaling the program's positive impact on the formation of the character of the clerics. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of integration between theory, practice, and example in religious education, which can be used as a model for other educational institutions that want to develop students' character through a scholar-based approach. Thus, this research is expected to contribute to the development of character education policies in the context of Islamic education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of interactive video-based learning media on student motivation and learning outcomes in primary education. Despite the growing use of digital media in education, many students still struggle with abstract material and low motivation. The research aims to test whether interactive video can enhance these areas. A quasi-experimental design was used with 26 fourth-grade students from MI Almaarif 02 Singosari, Malang, employing purposive sampling. Data were collected through pretest and posttest assessments and surveys on student motivation. Statistical analysis included paired t-tests and regression analysis to examine the relationship between interactive video media use and improvements in motivation and academic performance. The results indicate a significant positive effect, with the experimental group showing a higher N-Gain (0.82) compared to the control group (0.57), supporting the hypothesis that interactive media improves both motivation and learning outcomes (p < 0.001). These findings contribute to the literature by demonstrating the efficacy of interactive video in religious education, providing valuable insights for educators and policymakers. The study suggests further research to explore long-term impacts and the potential for broader application across diverse educational contexts.

Abstract

This study focuses on the implementation of the principle of equifinality and School-Based Management (SBM) in early childhood education (ECE) in Serpong Subdistrict. The principle of equifinality provides flexibility for school principals to develop educational strategies tailored to local needs, while SBM emphasizes collaboration and decentralization in decision-making processes. This research aims to explore how these principles are applied in educational management and identify challenges faced during their implementation. The research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach, involving in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis. Key respondents include school principals, teachers, and parents from several ECE institutions in the study area. The findings reveal that the principle of equifinality fosters innovation, such as project-based learning methods that respond to the specific needs of students. However, the success of this approach heavily depends on the availability of resources, which is a significant challenge for some schools. In the context of SBM, teachers are involved in lesson planning, but their participation in strategic decision-making remains limited. The involvement of parents and the community is also found to be low, reducing the effectiveness of the expected collaboration. The implications of this study highlight the need for policies that strengthen the managerial capacity of school principals and teachers, as well as enhance collaboration between schools, parents, and the community. This research contributes significantly to understanding the dynamics of locally-based educational management and its relevance to the needs of early childhood education, particularly in resource-limited areas

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of a religious-based Child-Friendly School Program (SRA) at MTs. Almaarif 01 Singosari and its influence on the development of student character. The research investigates how the integration of religious values, positive discipline policies, and the active involvement of parents and school committees contribute to shaping students' behavior. The study is motivated by the ongoing challenges in character education, particularly the need for a holistic approach that blends academic learning with moral and spiritual development. Using a qualitative case study methodology, the research employs data collection methods such as observations, interviews, and document analysis. Key informants include school administrators, teachers, students, parents, and school committee members, providing a comprehensive view of the program’s impact. The findings reveal that the SRA program has effectively created a supportive environment for character building, with significant contributions from the school’s discipline policies and the involvement of all stakeholders. The program has led to improvements in student behavior, including increased discipline, responsibility, and respect for religious values. This research highlights the importance of integrating character education with religious teachings and demonstrates how collaborative efforts among educators, parents, and the community can foster a well-rounded educational environment. The findings have broader implications for the development of similar programs in other educational contexts, particularly in promoting moral and spiritual growth among students.

Abstract

This research focuses on exploring the Salalahuk tradition as a medium for spiritual education and character building in Senden Village Islamic boarding school, Kampak, Trenggalek. This tradition is integrated in non-formal learning, especially during the month of Ramadan, by involving the chanting of tawhid-valued poems, joint reflection, and group discussion. The purpose of this study is to reveal how local traditions can be an effective pedagogical tool in supporting Islamic religious learning. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach. Data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews with pesantren caregivers, santri, and community leaders, and analysis of related documents. The results showed that Salalahuk effectively conveys the values of tawhid through the medium of local culture, creating a deep spiritual experience for the participants. This tradition is also proven to strengthen the character of santri by instilling moral values such as honesty, responsibility, and solidarity. In addition, Salalahuk creates a holistic educational approach that integrates formal and non-formal elements, thus strengthening not only the cognitive but also affective and social aspects of learners. The implications of this research show that local traditions can be adapted as a relevant and contextualized religious education model. This research makes a significant contribution in enriching the literature of local culture-based Islamic education. However, the limitations of this study include limited location coverage and qualitative-based methods. Further research is needed to expand the analysis in various locations and use quantitative approaches to get a more comprehensive.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of peer interaction and Akidah Akhlak education on the religiosity character of students at MTs Wahid Hasyim 01 Dau Malang, Indonesia. With the increasing moral challenges adolescents face in the modern era, understanding the factors contributing to religious identity formation is crucial. Previous research has explored the role of social influences and religious education in shaping students' values. Still, few studies have examined the combined impact of peer relationships and Akidah Akhlak subjects. This research uses a quantitative approach, employing a survey method with 60 randomly selected students to assess the effects of peer interaction and Akidah Akhlak education on religiosity. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to test the relationship between these variables. The findings reveal that peer interaction and Akidah Akhlak education significantly positively affect students' religiosity, with peer interaction showing a more substantial influence. These results highlight the importance of fostering a supportive social environment and integrating effective religious education to strengthen students' religious character. The study's implications suggest combining social and educational factors can enhance religious development, offering valuable insights for educators and policymakers aiming to promote religious and moral values in schools.

Abstract

The phenomenon of silent bullying in a religious-based educational environment such as madrassas shows complexities that have not been widely revealed in the academic literature. This research aims to explore how moral practices and religious discourse are used indirectly as a legitimacy tool for acts of social exclusion that are latent but sustainable. The main focus is directed to one case study, namely MA Darul Lughah in Probolinggo, as a representation of madrassas based on strong Islamic values. A qualitative approach with a case study method is used to explore the relational, symbolic, and institutional dynamics behind the forms of covert bullying. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and school documentation. The results show that teachers' moral authority, the use of normative religious language, and the pressure of behavioral homogenization have created an educational climate that subtly removes the expression of diversity. These findings reveal a shift in the meaning of character development into a form of social control that limits students' psychological safe spaces. This research emphasizes the importance of redefining a more inclusive and empathetic approach to religious education. The implications of this study highlight the need for the development of spiritual values-based anti-bullying policies that not only emphasize moral compliance, but also protection of students' emotional well-being.
