Abstract

Abstract Even though the school has set rules in the discipline as a form of symbolic interaction between school members, many students still choose not to attend. This absence means that students do not physically participate in school activities. Student attendance is considered important for learning achievement and enjoyment of school. This research aims to: 1) Find out the factors that influence student absenteeism at MTs Malang City, 2) Describe efforts to increase student attendance at Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Malang City. This research uses a qualitative approach and descriptive method, where the researcher acts as the main instrument. The research location is MTs Malang City. Data was collected through document studies, field observations and in-depth interviews, as well as literature observations to complete the data. The research results show that student absences at MTs Malang City are influenced by internal, external and social factors. Internal factors include self-awareness, learning concentration, and the ability to follow the learning process. External factors include the school environment, principal, teachers, and school rules. Social factors include the family and community environment. School efforts to increase student attendance include: 1) Consistent implementation of rules, 2) Involving students in activities that encourage discipline, such as scouts, 3) Formulating rules of conduct by involving the homeroom teacher, students and parents. Abstrak Meskipun sekolah telah menetapkan aturan dalam tata tertib sebagai bentuk interaksi simbolik antar warga sekolah, banyak siswa masih memilih untuk tidak hadir. Ketidakhadiran ini berarti siswa tidak berpartisipasi secara fisik dalam kegiatan sekolah. Kehadiran siswa dianggap penting untuk prestasi belajar dan ketertiban sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) Mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi ketidakhadiran siswa di MTs Kota Malang, 2) Mendeskripsikan upaya untuk meningkatkan kehadiran siswa di Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Kota Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode deskriptif, di mana peneliti berperan sebagai instrumen utama. Lokasi penelitian adalah MTs Kota Malang. Data dikumpulkan melalui studi dokumen, observasi lapangan, dan wawancara mendalam, serta tinjauan literatur untuk melengkapi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketidakhadiran siswa di MTs Kota Malang dipengaruhi oleh faktor internal, eksternal, dan sosial. Faktor internal meliputi kesadaran diri, konsentrasi belajar, dan kemampuan mengikuti proses belajar. Faktor eksternal mencakup lingkungan sekolah, kepala sekolah, guru, dan tata tertib sekolah. Faktor sosial meliputi lingkungan keluarga dan masyarakat. Upaya sekolah untuk meningkatkan kehadiran siswa meliputi: 1) Penerapan tata tertib yang konsisten, 2) Mengikutsertakan siswa dalam kegiatan yang mendorong disiplin, seperti pramuka, 3) Merumuskan tata tertib dengan melibatkan wali kelas, siswa, dan orang tua.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the reading comprehension skills of students with intellectual disability by using the KWL (Know, Want to Know, Learned) reading strategy. This research used quantitative methods with a one group pre-test post-test research design. The research subjects consisted of 5 middly intellectual disability students in grades V-VIII. The research instrument was a test of 20-questions with indicators that measure the ability to understand words, sentences and capture explicit information from reading texts. The treatment was given 4 times. The results showed an increase in post-test scores when compared with pre-test scores. The pre-test average score showed 45 with very low criteria, while the post-test average score shows 72 with good criteria. The hypothesis was then tested using the Wilcoxon test and obtained a value of 0.039 < 0.05. Based on the result of this study, KWL strategy can hone students’ skills in remembering, speaking, reading, and understanding. In addiotion, KWL stratgey also increases student motivation and participation in learning activities. So it can be concluded that the reading comprehension ability of intellectual disability students in grades V-VIII through the application of the KWL strategy has increased. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to create a critical thinking-based instructional media called DISCA (Digital Smart Card) for energy conversion materials that is valid according to subject matter experts, media experts, teachers, practical according to students, and effective in stimulating students' critical thinking skills. This R&D process employs the ADDIE model. The critical thinking-based DISCA refers to Facione with indicators adapted to Piaget's cognitive development for fourth-grade elementary school, which include analysis, evaluation, and explanation. The results showed that the product received average percentage of 93.75% indicating a "very valid" category. In practicality with average percentage of 98.8% categorized as "very practical." The effectiveness in stimulating critical thinking skills using the N-Gain Score showed that it was with a score of 80,19% indicating an “effective”. These research, it can be concluded that the DISCA for energy conversion materials for fourth-grade elementary school students is considered very valid, considered very practical, effective in stimulating critical thinking. Abstract

Educational services in educational institutions often face challenges related to the performance of administrative personnel, which has an impact on the quality of educational services. This study aims to analyze the strategies applied by administrative staff in improving the quality of education services. Using a qualitative research method with a literature study approach, this study reviewed several journals and reports related to education management. The results show that an effective strategy involves three main stages, namely strategy formulation, implementation and evaluation. Supporting factors for administrative staff performance include government policy support, adequate technology and continuous training, while inhibiting factors include lack of training, resistance to new technology and limited infrastructure in remote areas. This research confirms the importance of implementing comprehensive strategies to improve the quality of administrative services, which has a positive impact on student achievement and the overall effectiveness of the education process.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to find out and describe parents' understanding of stunting, provide parents with understanding about stunting, and the response given by parents after getting an understanding of stunting from posyandu cadres. This research uses qualitative research with a case study approach. The data collection techniques used in this research are interviews, observation and documentation. Based on research that has been conducted, the research results obtained are that almost all parents have sufficient understanding about stunting, especially parents who have children at risk of stunting. Providing this understanding is carried out by posyandu cadres during the implementation of posyandu activities, by providing outreach and counseling to parents who have children at risk of stunting, routine supplementary food (PMT) is given to children at risk of stunting, and the response given by parents after gaining understanding is also very good, almost the majority of parents already understand and are starting to be aware of stunting and its dangers to children's health in the long term. Abstract

The management of special services in schools is essential to support the learning process. These services include counseling, libraries, health units and various other facilities, all aimed at meeting the special needs of students. The library, as an information center, plays a crucial role in providing learning resources and supporting academic activities. Despite this, many students do not utilize the library optimally due to various obstacles, such as lack of awareness of its importance and easy access to technology. Therefore, the library should function not only as a place to store books, but also as an effective learning tool. Good management includes planning, organizing, mobilizing and monitoring. Through these strategies, the library can attract students' interest, improve literacy skills and create a conducive learning environment. Thus, the library contributes significantly to the success of education in schools.

Abstract

Schools play a crucial role in achieving quality education per national standards. Classrooms include physical aspects like aesthetics, seating arrangements, and lighting. Comfortable seating enhances learning, increases motivation, and boosts student achievements. Proper management of facilities, such as school benches, is essential for effective learning. Peer interaction also influences learning enthusiasm. Supportive friends boost motivation, while poorly behaved peers can diminish it. This descriptive quantitative study targets high school students in public schools across Malang City. Primary data was collected via Google Forms questionnaires. Stratified random sampling, using the Slovin formula at a 10% error rate, resulted in a sample of 100 respondents from a population of 10,884 students. Data analysis utilized multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS 24 for Windows, incorporating classical assumption tests, t-tests, F-tests, and R² tests. Abstract

Initial observations indicate that many students in Laboratory Senior Highschool UM struggle with their self-awareness, hindering their career planning. They face challenges in identifying their hobbies, talents, interests, potential, and abilities, which are crucial for career decision-making. This study aims to enhance self-awareness among students through career guidance services at Laboratory Senior Highschool UM. This research using a quantitative quasi-experimental approach with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. This research involved 31 students, which were purposively selected as the sample. Initial findings revealed that 9 students had low self-awareness scores on the pretest, while the others had moderate levels. Post-intervention results showed an improvement from low-moderate to moderate-high self-awareness, with an average posttest score of 42. This study demonstrates that career guidance services effectively enhance self-awareness in high school students, aiding their career planning and decision-making. It is recommended to develop and update career guidance services to be more effective and tailored to students' career needs.

Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kreativitas siswa dalam memanfaatkan laptop. Dilaksanakan melalui penerapan Model Pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek pada mata pelajaran PPKn materi lembaga penyelenggara negara di kelas VIII C SMP N 9 Madiun. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah kenyataan bahwa meskipun fasilitas laptop telah disediakan oleh Pemerintah Kota Madiun, penggunaannya oleh siswa masih kurang optimal dan cenderung digunakan untuk hiburan. Penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) ini menggunakan siklus perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi untuk menilai efektivitas pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan kreativitas siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui hasil observasi yang melibatkan 30 siswa kelas VIII C. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran berbasis proyek dengan pemanfaatan laptop terbukti dapat meningkatkan kreativitas siswa. Antusias siswa dalam menyusun proyek, menghasilkan ide-ide inovatif, dan menyelesaikan masalah secara kreatif lebih tinggi dari sebelum dilaksanakan penelitian. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa pemanfaatan teknologi dalam model pembelajaran berbasis proyek, sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan kreativitas siswa pada mata pelajaran PPKn. Selain itu, penelitian ini memberikan manfaat praktis bagi guru, siswa, dan sekolah dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan melalui penggunaan teknologi secara berkelanjutan untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran lebih optmal.
