Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Family Learning Center (PUSPAGA) program in Samaan Urban Village, Malang City, as an effort to build family resilience in an urban setting. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach utilizing observation, interviews, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), and documentation. The findings indicate that PUSPAGA plays a vital role in raising public awareness regarding positive parenting, family communication, and the prevention of domestic violence through counseling services, outreach activities, and psychoeducation. The use of social media and a community-based approach further supports the program's effectiveness. However, implementation still faces challenges, such as low participation among some community members and the stigma associated with family counseling services. Therefore, strengthened collaboration and more optimal outreach strategies are required to ensure the program's sustainability.

Abstract

Academic stress is a critical issue among first-year undergraduate students, as the transition to higher education demands adjustment to new learning patterns, academic workloads, and performance standards. This study aims to describe the level of academic stress among first-year Guidance and Counseling students and its distribution based on indicators of academic stress manifestations. A quantitative approach with a descriptive survey design was employed. The study population comprised 198 students, with 115 respondents selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected cross-sectionally using an instrument covering five indicators: pressure from study, workload, worry about grade, self-expectation, and despondency, and were subsequently analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings revealed that 55.5% of respondents experienced moderate academic stress, 29.5% experienced high stress, and 14.8% fell into the low category. Overall, 85% of respondents experienced moderate-to-high levels of academic stress. When analyzed by individual indicators, the highest proportion of students experiencing high academic stress was found in worry about grade (33.9%), followed by self-expectation (31.3%) and workload (29.6%). These findings underscore the need for early assessment and the development of sustainable Guidance and Counseling services to strengthen first-year students' adaptability and academic stress management skills.

Abstract

The Deep Learning approach in education emphasizes mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning to encourage active student engagement and deep understanding. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Deep Learning approach in elementary school education and to analyze students’ responses and interest in learning regarding its application. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach and was conducted at UPT SD Negeri Gaprang 01. Data were collected through observation, interviews with the principal, teachers, and students, as well as documentation. The data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of Deep Learning was carried out by integrating three main principles: mindful learning, meaningful learning, and joyful learning. In terms of mindful learning, students were guided to develop readiness, focus, and awareness regarding their learning process. In terms of meaningful learning, the material is linked to students’ experiences and daily lives through contextual questions, projects, experiments, and environmental observations. Meanwhile, joyful learning is realized through educational games, icebreakers, experiments, the use of media, and group activities. Student responses indicate a positive trend toward the implementation of this approach. Students find it easier to understand material linked to real-life experiences and show enthusiasm for hands-on activities, games, experiments, and collaborative projects. The implementation of these three principles has the potential to create a more active, relevant, and enjoyable learning experience, thereby fostering elementary school students’ interest in learning.

Abstract

Vocational program-student mismatch is an important issue in secondary vocational education because students may enter programs that do not correspond with their initial preferences, shaping their subsequent learning experiences and career considerations. This study explored students’ experiences of vocational choice, learning, and career development in the context of program–student mismatch. A qualitative case study design was employed. An initial questionnaire was administered to approximately 300 Grade 10 students, followed by interviews with students identified as experiencing mismatch, supplemented by observation and school documentation. Data were analyzed through qualitative data reduction, organization, and interpretation. The screening identified 65 students (21.67%) whose current vocational program was not their first choice. Students’ accounts indicated that mismatch was shaped by parental and peer influence, limited information about vocational programs and career pathways, and limited understanding of their vocational interests and abilities. Students also described reduced motivation, difficulties engaging with vocational learning, and challenges in understanding vocational subject matter. The findings suggest that program–student mismatch is shaped by social, informational, and developmental conditions and may extend into students’ learning and emerging career considerations. The study highlights the importance of proactive career guidance, comprehensive vocational information, and continued counseling support.

Abstract

Pancasila Education instruction in elementary schools plays a crucial role in shaping students' attitudes and character by internalizing Pancasila values in daily life. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of student attitudes during Pancasila Education lessons and identify the internal and external factors influencing them. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, involving fifth grade students at SDN Sentul 4, Blitar City. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that student attitudes during lessons are diverse and fluctuate according to learning situations and teacher stimuli. Some students demonstrate active, confident, responsible, tolerant, and cooperative attitudes, while others tend to be passive and require teacher guidance to participate. These dynamics are influenced by internal factors, including motivation, learning interest, self confidence, material comprehension, and socio emotional conditions, as well as external factors such as instructional strategies, learning media, classroom environment, peer interactions, school culture, and family support. The teacher's role through role modeling, positive reinforcement, interactive instruction, and gradual guidance is essential in developing positive student attitudes. The findings suggest that attitude formation through Pancasila Education requires contextual and interactive instruction supported by continuous collaboration between school and family.

Abstract

People with visual impairments face mobility challenges, particularly in detecting obstacles in their surroundings. Assistive technology, such as sensor glasses, offers a solution to increase user independence and safety. This article aims to examine the use of sensor glasses technology to improve the mobility independence of people with visual impairments. The method used was a literature review, collecting and analyzing various relevant scientific sources. The study results indicate that sensor glasses use ultrasonic sensors to detect obstacles in front of, to the right, and to the left of the user, then provide feedback in the form of sound or vibration via a microcontroller. This technology offers significant benefits in terms of real-time obstacle detection, increased safety, and user independence during activities. Integration with IoT and GPS-based systems also allows for remote location monitoring. However, sensor glasses still have limitations in optimal ground detection. Overall, sensor glasses have the potential to be an effective mobility aid for people with visual impairments, especially when combined with a traditional cane.
