Abstract

Mathematics instruction in the early grades of elementary school needs to be adapted to the characteristics of learners, who require concrete learning experiences and direct involvement in activities. This study aims to describe the implementation of an interactive cut-and-paste activity-based student worksheet (LKPD) on the topic of comparing and ordering numbers among second-grade elementary school students. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, involving 28 second-grade students of SDN Sawojajar 6, Malang City, with data collected on 12 March 2026. Data were gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the implementation of the interactive cut-and-paste LKPD could be carried out systematically through both group and individual activities, and was able to provide concrete learning experiences that actively engaged students in cutting, arranging, matching, and pasting number cards. Students displayed enthusiasm throughout the activities, and most were able to complete the number comparing and ordering tasks accurately. Challenges identified included some students requiring more time to complete the tasks and an uneven distribution of responsibilities within groups; these could be addressed through teacher guidance and direction during the learning activities. Overall, the cut-and-paste activity-based interactive LKPD can serve as an alternative, concrete, and engaging mathematics learning activity that supports the involvement of second-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

Motor and cognitive development are two important aspects of early childhood education that require proper stimulation, especially during the golden age. Initial observations in Group A2 at TK Mawar Indah 02 Batu showed that learning was still centered around worksheets and printed books, with 8 out of 18 children not developing as expected. This study aims to improve children's gross motor and cognitive development through the application of the learning media “EduBoard: Animal and Color Exploration.” This research uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method following the Arikunto model, carried out in two cycles with eight children in group A (4 boys and 4 girls) as subjects. Data was collected through observation, tests, field notes, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively in both qualitative and quantitative ways. The research results showed an increase in children's developmental achievements from 30% at the pre-action stage to 37.5% in cycle 1, and then rising to 87.5% in cycle 2, surpassing the success indicator of 75%. These findings show that the EduBoard media is effective in stimulating both gross motor and cognitive development while also fostering enthusiasm and active participation, making it a reference for early childhood teachers and opening up opportunities for further research with more diverse media subjects or themes, as well as children's enjoyment during the learning process.

Abstract

Contextual learning is an approach that connects teaching materials with students' real-life experiences, making the learning process more meaningful. This study examines the implementation of contextual learning through outing class activities organized by the Tunas Harapan Community Learning Center (PKBM) in Batu City. The approach used was descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews and documentation studies. The research subjects consisted of tutors, PKBM Heads, and Outing Class Participants. The results showed that the outing class activities conducted in Kediri, Blitar, and Bojonegoro successfully integrated the seven components of contextual learning: constructivism, inquiry, questioning, modeling, learning communities, reflection, and authentic assessment. Students demonstrated increased motivation, active engagement, and deeper conceptual understanding compared to conventional classroom learning. However, several obstacles require attention, including limited funding and the diversity of participant backgrounds. This study recommends integrating outing classes as a regular component in PKBM program planning to strengthen the quality of non-formal education.

Abstract

The advent of artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed the way students learn programming in recent years; however, a clear picture of how this technology is actually used on a day-to-day basis has rarely been systematically mapped. This study aims to map the artificial intelligence usage profiles of undergraduate students in Educational Technology within the Visual Programming course. A quantitative descriptive method was employed, involving 172 students as respondents. Data were collected via a 23-item Likert-scale questionnaire (1–5), and subsequently categorised using Azwar’s formula to determine low, moderate and high levels of usage. The results indicate that ChatGPT is the most widely used AI tool amongst students, accounting for 76.2% of respondents. Students use AI intensively, primarily to deepen their understanding of concepts they have not yet grasped, rather than merely to complete tasks instantly. Overall, students exhibited a high-category AI usage profile, with 77.3% of all research subjects falling into this category. These findings suggest that students do not merely use AI passively, but rather utilise it as an active and reflective learning companion; this can therefore serve as a basis for universities to formulate more targeted AI integration policies within their visual programming.

Abstract

Learning independence is an important aspect in students' personal and career development, but many students are still unable to have awareness and management of their learning process. Low learning independence results in various negative impacts on other aspects of life that do not support the optimization of a student's potential. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using tetragrow media as an innovation in group guidance services to improve learning independence . This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design of one group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were seven students who were selected randomly. This research instrument adopted a learning independence instrument that has been tested for validity and reliability of 50 statement items. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test through the SPSS application showed a Z value = -2.379 and a significance of p = 0.017 (p < 0.05), which means there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. These results indicate that tetragrow media is effective in improving learning independence. Therefore, the Tetragrow medium is recommended as a supporting tool in group guidance services to more optimally enhance students' learning independence.

Abstract

Emotional development is one of the key aspects supporting students’ success in the learning process at elementary school. The ability to recognize and manage emotions is linked to self-confidence, motivation, resilience in facing difficulties, and the ability to interact within the learning environment. This study aims to analyze the emotional development of sixth-grade students in supporting the learning process at SDN Karangtengah 3. The study employs a case study approach using qualitative data supported by descriptive quantitative data. The research informant was a sixth-grade teacher, while questionnaire respondents consisted of 15 students. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and a structured questionnaire covering three aspects: learning attitudes and motivation, resilience and emotional regulation, and social interaction and academic courage. Qualitative data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while questionnaire data were analyzed descriptively. The results indicate that students’ emotional development is generally fairly good. Students demonstrate self-confidence, enjoyment in learning, enthusiasm, resilience in facing difficult problems, and calmness when receiving reprimands. Social interactions are also positive through group activities and communication during learning. However, some students still experience anxiety in certain academic situations and hesitate to ask questions when they do not understand the material. Therefore, support from teachers, families, and the school environment is needed to optimize students’ emotional development and learning engagement.

Abstract

Library facilities and infrastructure play an essential role in supporting the School Literacy Movement (Gerakan Literasi Sekolah; GLS) by providing reading resources and an environment that encourages students’ literacy development. This study aimed to describe the availability, condition, and utilization of library facilities in implementing GLS, as well as identify challenges in their use. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation of library facilities and literacy activities, then analyzed using data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings showed that the library provided essential literacy facilities, including textbooks, non-textbook collections, bookshelves, reading tables and chairs, and other supporting resources. These facilities supported GLS through regular library visits, reading activities, and the integration of library materials into classroom learning. Although GLS had been implemented consistently at the basic level, several challenges remained, including limited library space, unequal distribution of reading materials, administrative management constraints, and the absence of dedicated librarians. To address these issues, the school implemented collection development, facility improvement, strengthened library management, and collaboration with external partners. Overall, the availability of library infrastructure effectively supported GLS implementation, although continued optimization of facilities, collections, access, and management is necessary to ensure sustainable and effective literacy activities.
