Abstract

Character building programs are strategic efforts by schools to shape the character of students so that they have moral values, ethics, and work attitudes that are in line with the demands of the world of education and industry. Character education includes three main components, namely moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action (Lickona, 1991). In order for character values to be not only understood but also internalized and practiced in daily life, these three components must be developed simultaneously. This article aims to internalize character values in students. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. This study uses purposive sampling, with techniques of interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study show that teachers play an active role in implementing character building programs through the integration of character values in learning, instilling discipline, and setting an example in their daily behavior. The success of character building programs is greatly influenced by the role of teachers, especially in building the character of students who are moral, disciplined, and responsible.

Abstract

The crisis of meaning, the increasing prevalence of mental health problems, and the growing tendency toward nihilism among Generation Z indicate that modern education, which is largely oriented toward academic achievement, has not fully addressed the existential and spiritual needs of today’s young generation. Various data show a rise in mental health disorders, identity confusion, and a weak long-term life orientation among adolescents. This study aims to analyze the values of the concept al-‘abid al-muraqabah in Muraqi al-‘Ubudiyah by Shaykh Muhammad Nawawi ibn Umar al-Jawi al-Bantani and their relevance as a strategy for preventing nihilism among Generation Z. The research focuses on the internalization al-‘abid al-murāqabah in Muraqi al-‘Ubudiyah and its relevance as a strategy for preventing nihilism and restoring a sense of meaning in the lives of Generation Z in the digital era. This study employs a qualitative approach using a library research method, with Muraqi al-‘Ubudiyah as the primary source, and the theories of nihilism proposed by Friedrich Nietzsche and Albert Camus, as well as Thomas Lickona’s theory of character education, as the analytical framework. The data are analyzed through content analysis to identify Islamic character values and relate them to the problems faced by Generation Z. The findings indicate that the values embedded in the concept of al-‘abid al-muraqabah in Muraqi al-‘Ubudiyah, when internalized through Thomas Lickona’s tripartite framework of moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action, demonstrate significant potential as both a conceptual foundation and a pedagogical strategy for mitigating nihilistic tendencies and restoring existential meaning among Generation Z in the context of modernity and digital culture

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve the quality of community Qur'an reading through tahsinul Qur'an guidance activities in Suboh Village, Suboh District, Situbondo Regency. This activity is motivated by the continued difficulty found in reading the Qur'an according to the correct rules of tajweed. The community service program is carried out routinely after each Maghrib prayer at the Misbahul Hidayah Mosque and Al-Barokah Mosque by implementing a participatory approach. The methods used include observation, interviews, and documentation, with data sources in the form of primary and secondary data, and analyzed using an interactive analysis model. The implementation of guidance is focused on introducing the basics of tajweed, understanding makhraj and the nature of letters, as well as the application of reading rules such as idgham, ikhfa, qalqalah, and mad. The learning process is carried out through direct practice with intensive guidance and continuous reading correction. The results of the activity show an increase in the participants' Qur'an reading ability, both in terms of the accuracy of letter pronunciation and reading fluency. Furthermore, this activity also raises public awareness of the importance of reciting the Quran according to the rules of Tajweed and strengthens social interaction and a sense of togetherness among residents. Thus, this tahsinul Qur'an guidance has a significant positive impact and has the potential to become a model for sustainable community service in the field of Quranic literacy.

Abstract

This study explores the alignment between the BANI era framework Brittle, Anxious, Nonlinear, Incomprehensible and the graduate profile, positioning graduates as transformative resilience architects rather than merely holders of normative competencies. The research aims to examine how deep learning operationalizes this profile to prepare students for complex global challenges. Employing a literature review and conceptual analysis, the study synthesizes theoretical perspectives from Cascio (2020), Dewey (1933), Biggs & Tang (2003), Deci & Ryan (2000), Fullan et al. (2017), OECD Learning Compass 2030, and the World Economic Forum (2020). The findings indicate that deep learning enables integrative development across cognitive, affective, social, and spiritual domains. Key competencies including spirituality, citizenship, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, autonomy, well-being, and communication are strengthened through reflective, experiential, and project-based pedagogical practices. The study concludes that the integration of graduate profile design and deep learning provides a systemic educational approach that equips students to adapt, thrive, and act as agents of transformation in the volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous conditions of the BANI era.

The changes that occurred in the punk lifestyle, which previously had a negative stigma, evolved thanks to one punk community that tried to change their lifestyle for the better, which is the main focus of this research. Religion helps them express a new identity. They want to show that punk kids also have religious beliefs, and they want to change the negative stigma surrounding punk kids, who have long been considered a deviant group. Abstract

The social interactions of young children in diverse environments are not yet fully instilled with religious tolerance. The persistence of closed-mindedness and prejudice toward differences demonstrates the importance of instilling values of tolerance from an early age. Early childhood education plays a strategic role in developing tolerant character through habits, role models, and inclusive learning experiences. This study aims to describe the application of religious tolerance, the role of teacher role models, and the implementation of tolerance values in learning activities and social interactions at the Rukun Harapan Three Languages PGTK School in Jember. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation with research subjects including the principal, teachers, and students. The results of the study indicate that religious tolerance is implemented through an inclusive school culture, the habituation of mutual respect, and teacher role models in treating students without religious discrimination. The implementation of tolerance is evident in learning activities, celebrations of religious holidays, and daily social interactions that emphasize living in harmony in diversity. This study concludes that a multicultural school environment and the consistent role of teachers are key factors in instilling an attitude of religious tolerance in early childhood.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has driven significant transformations in business marketing practices. These changes require business actors to adopt marketing strategies that are not solely oriented toward profit maximization but also consider ethical and spiritual values. In this context, the concept of sharia e-marketing emerges as an alternative marketing strategy grounded in Islamic principles. This article aims to examine the role of sharia e-marketing as a means of business da'wah in the digital era. The research employs a literature review method with a qualitative descriptive approach, analyzing various sources such as books, scholarly journal articles, and other relevant publications related to sharia marketing and Islamic economic da'wah. The findings indicate that the implementation of sharia e-marketing can function as an effective medium of da'wah through the internalization of values such as honesty, transparency, justice, and trustworthiness in digital marketing activities. In addition to providing economic benefits for business actors, sharia e-marketing also contributes to enhancing public awareness of the importance of halal, ethical, and sustainable business practices amid the dynamics of the digital economy.

Abstract

Despite the rapid growth of the global halal industry, empirical evidence explaining how internal firm capabilities shape performance outcomes among halal certified small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) remains limited. Drawing on the Resource- Based Theory (RBT), this study examines the effects of human capital competence, innovation strategy, Islamic financial literacy, and market orientation on the performance of halal food and beverage SMEs, with competitive advantage acting as a mediating mechanism. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed using survey data collected from 278 owners and managers of halal-certified SMEs in Mojokerto, Indonesia. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0. The findings reveal that all internal capability variables exert positive and significant effects on SME performance. Furthermore, competitive advantage plays a pivotal mediating role by strengthening the indirect relationships between internal resources and performance outcomes. These results extend the Resource-Based Theory by demonstrating that value-based and non-financial internal resources are critical in generating sustainable competitive advantage and enhancing firm performance within the halal SME context, particularly in emerging economies.
