Journal of Social Work and Science Education
The Journal of Social Work and Science Education (JSWSE) is firmly established as an authoritative voice in the world of social work and science education with E-ISSN: 2723-6919 and P-ISSN 2746-0827. JSWSE publishes scholarly papers that focus on the social science, teaching and learning, science in school settings ranging from early childhood to university education. It bridges the gap between research and practice, providing information, ideas and opinion. As a truly international journal, JSWSE welcomes contributions from any country provided that the authors explain their local contexts and demonstrate the significance of their work for a global readership. Special emphasis is placed on applicable research relevant to social sciences, educational practice, educational realities in systems, schools, colleges and universities. JSWSE is concerned with social science and science education but also welcomes manuscripts on the integration of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or, geography, and the arts. It is published by Yayasan Sembilan Pemuda Indonesia and it will regularly be published three times a year, in April, August, and December.

This study aims to describe the implementation of character education in elementary schools. This research was conducted at SD Negeri 3 Tanjung Agung which is located at Jalan Lintas Baturaja, Pulau Panggung Village, Tanjung Agung District, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra Province. This research was conducted starting from February to May 2022. Collecting data and information obtained by researchers while in the field by directly obtaining surveys and documentation. The results state that almost all students can implement character education in elementary schools with habituation that is scheduled and used by school teachers.

This study aims to determine athletes’ perceptions of the use of basic pencak silat motion books, (1) athletes’ perceptions of pencak silat training, (2) the use of media in pencak silat training, (3) the need for the development of pencak silat books. This research is descriptive quantitative research. The results of this study stated that (1) Athletes’ perception of pencak silat training obtained a value of 75.81%, with a good category (2) The use of media in training obtained a value of 85%, very good (3) the need for the development of pencak silat books amounted to a value of 93.25% with the category of strongly agree. The results of this study show that athletes’ perceptions of the development of pencak silat books in the white eagle college of North Musi Rawas Regency are positive, for that it is necessary to develop pencak silat books in the white eagle college of North Musi Rawas Regency.

This study aimed to determine the influence of the principal’s leadership style and the teacher’s motivation on the discipline of SMP Negeri teachers in Penukal Utara District. This type of research was quantitative research with a research design using an ex post facto research design. The sample in this study was a total of all SMP Negeri teachers in Penukal Utara District, consisting of 97 teachers. Data collection techniques used a questionnaire data analysis techniques include quantitative descriptive analysis techniques and multiple regression. The results of this study stated that 1) there was a significant influence of the principal’s leadership style on the discipline of teachers in SMP Negeri in Penukal Utara District; 2) there was a significant influence of teacher motivation on the discipline of SMP Negeri teachers in Penukal Utara District; and 3) there was a jointly significant influence of the principal’s leadership style and teacher’s motivation on the discipline of teachers of SMP Negeri in Penukal Utara District.

The reward system is something that is of concern to everyone, considering that appreciation means giving something related to work performance. A good reward system can also be part of a person’s motivation to excel. For this reason, this study examines the reward system and achievement motivation on job satisfaction felt by teachers. To conduct research in accordance with these rules, the researcher refers to research with quantitative methods. The data obtained through questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through simple and multiple linear regression tests, because the data obtained was normally distributed and met the test requirements. The results of the research conducted state that the reward system partially has a significant influence on the job satisfaction of high school teachers in South OKU Rayon 3, as well as achievement motivation which is partially proven to contribute to teacher job satisfaction. The simultaneous testing stated that the reward system and achievement motivation were proven to have a significant influence on the job satisfaction of high school teachers in Rayon 3 OKU Selatan.

This study aims to determine the Effect of Exercise Jumping with a Ball Obstacle Against Squatting Style Long Jump Ability in Class XI Students SMA/SMK In Banyuasin. This research was conducted on some class XI students in Banyuasin Regency. This research is an experimental method with a Quasi-Experimental design in the form of One Group Pretest Posttest Design. The sample used is 20 people. Based on the results of the study, the average results of the squat-style long jump obtained in the pre-test Experimental group is 2.28 m and pre-test implementation The control group is 2.27 m, and the average result of the squat-style long jump in the post-test of the Experiment Group is 2.90 m and the implementation of the control group post-test is 2.30 m. Based on the results of the statistical calculations of the data above, the value of t-count = 13.33 is obtained and t-table = 1.7 29, so t-count = 13.33 > t-table = 1.729, then the hypothesis that reads, The Effect of Training Jumping With a Ball Obstacle Against Squatting Style Long Jump Ability in Class XI Students SMA/SMK In Banyuasin. Research is acceptable.

This research has the aims to make an article entitled Motivation of Palembang PGRI University Students in Participating in Volleyball Cup Training discusses the development of achievement sports activities (KOP) which have participated in many student-level competition activities throughout South Sumatra and have won many championship ratings in each game. This was proven at the South Sumatra Regional Student Sports Week (POMDA) 2022 where the men’s volleyball KOP team from Palembang PGRI University won 2nd place, while the women’s team won 3rd place in the event. The population and sample in this study were students who took part in volleyball training at PGRI Palembang University, totaling 20 boys and 10 girls with a total of 30 people. By using quantitative descriptive research methods. Meanwhile, data and data sources are divided into two, namely primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques in this study used questionnaire. For the indicators of measuring the variable grids in questionnaires with the test Validation and Reliability Questionnaire. Through the above data collection, not all members in the group have good competency skills, especially in increasing their motivation to rise. Sometimes they have difficulty in increasing motivation among their peers. And they believe that correction from their peer’s correction of their peers fairly, increasing motivation towards achievement in every competition. And the result of all indicators shows that both internal and external factors give significant contributions toward achievement.

Teacher performance is an important element in achieving the goals of educational institutions. Therefore, educational institutions must be able to maximize the factors that can affect teacher performance, which are the principal’s leadership style and teacher motivation. This study aims to analyze the effect of the principal’s leadership style and teacher motivation on teacher performance in SMK Negeri throughout the Kayuagung District. This type of research is quantitative research. Data collection tool using a questionnaire. Data analysis using multiple regression tests. The results of the study stated that there was an influence of the principal’s leadership style and teacher motivation on the performance of teachers in State Vocational Schools throughout the Kayuagung District. To improve their performance, teachers must have high motivation and support from the leadership of the principal who can keep the teacher’s motivation always in good condition so that the teaching and learning process can run effectively.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of zig-zag training on shooting accuracy in a soccer game for children of class V SD Negeri Tasa XI, Lais District. This research was conducted at SD Negeri Tasa XI, Lais District, which is located Tj. Agung Utara, Kec. Lais, Musi Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra 30757. The method used in this research is the pre-experimental design experimental method. The research design used in this study was a pre-test and post-test one group design. The population of this study was all of class V at SD Negeri Tasa XI, Lais District, with a total of 26 people. The sample in this study is the existing population or is called a saturated sample (census) of 26 people. Data collection was carried out by conducting shooting tests in soccer games. The analytical method used is the t test with SPSS for windows version 23.00. The results of this study are that there is an effect of zig-zag training on shooting accuracy in soccer games for children of class V SD Negeri Tasa XI, Lais District.

This study aims to determine students’ perceptions of physical education learning models through games based on (1) Perceptions of physical education learning knowledge, (2) Perceptions of teacher teaching styles, (3) Perceptions of easy-to-use media, (4) Perceptions of interest in learning physical education, (5) Perceptions about the need to develop a physical education learning model through games. This research is descriptive quantitative research. The results of this study indicate that (1) the perception of physical education learning knowledge obtained a score of 90.50% in the very good category, (2) the perception of the teacher’s teaching style obtained a value of 75.50% in the good category, (3) the perception of the media used is easy used to obtain a score of 87% in the very good category, (4) Perceptions about interest in learning physical education obtained a value of 97% in the very good category, (5) Perceptions about the need to develop a learning model for basic volleyball techniques through a play approach obtained a value of 100% in the category very well, which means students agree if the development of physical education learning models through games is developed. The results of this study indicate that students’ perceptions of the development of physical education learning models through games in elementary schools in North Musi Rawas Regency are positive, for this reason it is necessary to develop physical education learning models through games.

The purpose of this study was to determine the level of physical freshness of students and student learning outcomes, as well as to determine the relationship between the level of physical freshness and the learning outcomes of students of State Elementary School 16 OKU. The population in this study was grade V students of State Elementary School 16 OKU with a sample of 30 students. The sampling technique used is random sampling. The data collection method uses a survey method with the Indonesian Physical Freshness Test (TKJI) method and documentation. Data from test results are processed using computerized SPSS system version 23. The results showed: 1) the level of physical freshness of grade V students of State Elementary School 16 OKU in the medium category. 2) Learning outcomes of grade V students of State Elementary School 16 OKU in the good category. 3) there is a significant positive relationship between the level of physical freshness and the learning outcomes of grade V students Public Elementary School 16 OKU. Students are expected to always maintain and improve their physical freshness as the main provision for the learning process.
