The Journal of Social Work and Science Education (JSWSE) is firmly established as an authoritative voice in the world of social work and science education with E-ISSN: 2723-6919 and P-ISSN 2746-0827. JSWSE publishes scholarly papers that focus on the social science, teaching and learning, science in school settings ranging from early childhood to university education. It bridges the gap between research and practice, providing information, ideas and opinion. As a truly international journal, JSWSE welcomes contributions from any country provided that the authors explain their local contexts and demonstrate the significance of their work for a global readership. Special emphasis is placed on applicable research relevant to social sciences, educational practice, educational realities in systems, schools, colleges and universities. JSWSE is concerned with social science and science education but also welcomes manuscripts on the integration of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or, geography, and the arts. Abstract

This study was conducted to describe the effect of academic supervision and teacher work motivation on teacher competence, either partially or simultaneously. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. The results achieved from the research that has been done state that partially academic supervision can have a positive and significant influence on teacher competence MTs Negeri throughout Palembang City; as well as with other partial tests that teacher work motivation can have a positive and significant influence on teacher competence; Meanwhile, the simultaneous test stated that academic supervision and teacher work motivation were able to have a positive and significant influence on teacher competence in MTs Negeri throughout Palembang City with a high level of influence.

Abstract

This research was conducted to provide an in-depth description of the implementation of supervision organized by the PrincipaI of MTs Negeri 2 Palembang together with the supervisor team. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. The result achieved from the research carried out is that the implementation of supervision has been carried out weII at MTs Negeri 2 Palembang, as evidenced by the stages or procedures carried out in a structured or systematic manner. The implementation of supervision has been scheduled as stated in the annual program of MTs Negeri 2 Palembang. Therefore, every process of the implementation of supervision has been able to reach the things needed to improve the quality of education. The supervision implemented at MTs Negeri 2 Palembang has a good impact on the implementation of education, as stated by the teachers that it is important to continue to carry out supervision so that there is supervision and control in every running process. The implementation of supervision also provides benefits for teachers to improve their professionalism as professional educators.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Principal’s Democratic Leadership Style and Teacher Work Discipline on Student Learning Outcomes at SMP Muhammadiyah Koba. The sample size taken was 62 teachers education personnel and students at SMP Muhammadiyah Koba, Central Bangka Regency. The sampling technique was purposive sampling, where the respondents taken were teachers and education personnel at SMP Muhammadiyah Koba, Central Bangka Regency. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires using a 5-point Likert scale to measure 75 statement items. The analysis technique used was multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that there was an influence of the Principal’s Democratic Leadership Style and Teacher Work Discipline on student learning outcomes Second, the influence of the Principal’s Democratic Leadership Style on student learning outcomes Third, the influence of Teacher Work Discipline on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of classroom management and teacher work ethic on the quality of learning in SMP Negeri in Simpangkatis District. Specifically, this research aims to determine: (1) analyze the influence of classroom management on the quality of learning (2) analyze the influence of work ethic on the quality of learning (3) analyze the influence of classroom management and work ethic together on the quality of learning. To obtain accurate research results, in this thesis, the author uses a quantitative approach. The research subjects were several teachers at SMP Negeri in Simpangkatis District. The data collection technique used is a questionnaire technique with a data instrument in the form of a scale, the prerequisite stages of analysis include a normality test, homogeneity, linearity test, multicollinearity test, autocorrelation test, and data heteroscondensity test. Test the research hypothesis using multiple regression. Data collection techniques were carried out through questionnaires distributed to teachers. After conducting research and analyzing the collected data, the following results were obtained: (1) Class management has a positive and significant effect on the quality of learning based on the count value being greater than the table, namely 13.431, greater than table 1.999, (2) Work ethic has a positive effect and significant to the quality of learning based on the calculation results t-count is greater than t-table or 21,453 greater than 1.999, (3) Class management and work ethic have a positive and significant effect together on the quality of learning according to the calculation f-count greater than f-table or 263,400 greater of 3.21.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze: (1) the influence of the principal’s leadership on teacher’s performance, (2) the effect of the principal’s work motivation on teacher’s performance. This research was conducted in eighteen public elementary schools in Rambang District, Muara Enim Regency, with a population of 153 people and a sample of 46 people (30%). The data analysis technique uses multiple linear analysis with simultaneous tests, the results show that the correlation coefficient or the influence generated is as large as the obtained R-Square value of 0.976, then the coefficient of determination is 97.6% and the remaining 2.4% is influenced by other factors that are not be this variable. The results of calculating the coefficients table obtained a b1 value of -0.047 and a b2 value of 1.096. Simultaneously these independent variables have an influence on the dependent variable.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to ascertain how the work environment, teacher motivation, and supervision affect public elementary school teachers’ performance in Namang District. This kind of study employs an ex post facto research design and is quantitative. Ninety state elementary school teachers in Namang District served as the research sample. This kind of study uses a research strategy and is quantitative. ways for gathering data using surveys. Multiple regression and quantitative descriptive analysis approaches are used in data analysis methods. The study’s findings indicate that: 1) the work environment significantly affects the performance of state elementary school teachers in Namang District; 2) teacher motivation significantly influences the performance of state elementary school teachers in Namang District; and 3) the work environment and teacher motivation significantly jointly affect the performance of state elementary school teachers in Namang District.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze and describe 1) The influence of academic supervision on teacher performance 2) the effect of leadership effectiveness on teacher performance 3) the influence of academic supervision and leadership effectiveness on teacher performance. The method used in this study refers to quantitative description. This research was conducted at SDN Koba and Lubuk Besar sub-districts with a sample of 82 people. Data collection techniques are carried out through questionnaires, observation, and documentation. Validity tests are conducted through expert and construct validation tests, and instruments are declared valid. Data analysis is carried out through prerequisite tests, namely normality, linearity, multicolonicity, and heteroscedasticity. After prerequisite testing, the analysis continues with regression tests. The results obtained stated that partially: 1) academic supervision affects teacher performance with a significant influence, namely 67%, 2) leadership effectiveness also contributes 51%. Simultaneous testing states that academic supervision and leadership effectiveness contribute significantly to teacher performance, which is 71% and the remaining 29% is influenced by other factors, therefore hypotheses regarding the influence of the two independent variables on the dependent variable can be stated.

Abstract

A teacher’s professionalism is based on their unique competencies and skills in teaching science. High professionalism reflects their commitment to improving professional quality through various methods and strategies. Creativity in learning is essential for the teaching and learning process, covering cognitive, psychomotor, and affective aspects. Teachers must use appropriate media in learning to stimulate students’ thoughts, feelings, attention, and interest. In Lubuk Besar District, Central Bangka Regency, there is a lack of media and educational teaching aids, with many teachers lacking degrees and arriving late. Less varied teaching methods and an old learning paradigm result in passive knowledge delivery. This research focuses on Tk/Paud teachers in Lubuk Besar District, Central Bangka Regency, using quantitative research with a descriptive approach. The results show that learning media has a partial and significant effect on teacher professionalism, with a t value of 17.227 and a significance level of 0.000. Teacher competency also has a partial and significant effect on teacher professionalism, with a t value of 3.970 and a significance level of 0.000. In conclusion, learning media and teacher competency have a simultaneous and significant effect on teacher professionalism, with a t value of 17.227 and a significance level of 0.000.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the influence of the Spensa Pacak Learning Management System application and the ICT skills of subject teachers on students’ learning motivation. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Koba, Central Bangka Regency, using questionnaires. The results showed that the use of the Learning Management System application had no significant impact on students’ learning motivation. However, the ICT skills of subject teachers had a significant influence on students’ motivation. The use of the Learning Management System application and subject teachers’ ICT skills simultaneously had a significant influence on students’ motivation. The coefficient of determination for students showed a large influence of the Learning Management System application and subject teachers’ ICT skills, with 82.3% influenced by other factors not mentioned in the research.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of work balance and work attachment on the performance of elementary school teachers in the Gugus 2 Koba sub-district, Central Bangka Regency. The sample size taken was 94 elementary school teachers of elementary school teachers in Gugus 2 Koba District, Central Bangka Regency. The sampling technique was purposive sampling, where the respondents were some of the Primary School Teachers of Gugus 2 Koba Sub-district, Central Bangka Regency. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires using a 5-point Likert scale to measure 75 statement items. The analysis technique used was multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that there was an influence of Work Balance and Work Attachment on Teacher Performance. Second, there is an influence of work balance on teacher’s performance third there is an influence of teacher attachment on teacher’s performance.
