Abstract

Occupational safety and health (OSH) practices and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) are crucial for ensuring the well-being of workers and students in civil engineering laboratories. This study investigates the development and implementation of OSH practices with JSA in civil engineering laboratories to enhance safety performance and reduce accident risks. The research draws insights from various industrial settings, including construction and manufacturing, where JSA has been widely applied to identify and mitigate potential hazards. The study highlights the unique challenges faced by civil engineering laboratories, such as constantly changing physical environments and the presence of specific hazards related to experiments and tests. To address these challenges, the study proposes the integration of JSA into OSH frameworks, adapting methods like the Construction Job Safety Analysis (CJSA) to suit the dynamic nature of laboratory work. The research also emphasizes the importance of fostering a strong safety culture through employee awareness, training, and the use of innovative approaches like virtual reality (VR) in OSH education. By combining JSA techniques with comprehensive OSH initiatives, the study aims to improve hazard identification, risk assessment, and worker engagement in civil engineering laboratories. While the specific impact of integrating JSA into OSH practices on safety performance in civil engineering laboratories requires further research, the available literature suggests that such an approach can potentially enhance safety outcomes by establishing effective hazard control measures and promoting a proactive safety culture.

The data collection time is adjusted to the company's operational schedule to minimize disruption to work activities. The results of this study will be used to develop a health and safety training model that is tailored to the needs identified in the research. The results of the research obtained needs analysis information including: (1) Analysis of the implementation of health and safety consisting of policies, namely Strengthening the supervision system for the implementation of health and safety, Conduct ongoing training with post-training evaluations to ensure employee understanding and compliance with health and safety, and Develop an incident reporting system that is easily accessible and protected from sanctions so that employees feel comfortable reporting any incidents; (2) There are several job risks that can be experienced by workers. The description is Excavation work is vulnerable to the risk of landslides or landslides, The work floor casting work involves the use of heavy equipment such as concrete mixers, transport trucks, and concrete vibrators. and Iron installation work is often carried out at construction sites with heights and (3) The results of the questionnaire related to the use of PPE for workers obtained information on workers using PPE by 28%; and workers do not use PPE by 72%. Thus, the tendency to use PPE for workers at PT. XYZ is in the category of not using.

Abstract

The HOTS-based inquiry training model is a learning approach designed to develop higher-order thinking skills, such as analysis, evaluation, and creation, through the process of exploration and problem-solving. The purpose of this study is to find out the practical picture of the HOTS-based inquiry training model. This type of research is a quantitative research with a survey approach. The implementation of the trial was carried out in three stages, namely small, limited, and field trials. The data collection technique is carried out by: (1) observing lecturers carrying out training using a HOTS-based inquiry training model on electrical expertise competencies; (2) ask for a response or response from lecturers after using the HOTS-based inquiry training model. The results of this study were obtained: (1) The implementation of the training model during the implementation of small group, limited group, and field trials show that observers consistently give assessments in the very practical category; (2) Products have good validity, reliability, objectivity, and practicality, with the best test results seen on the field scale.

Abstract

This study aims to see whether the SDQ can be used as an early detection of self-injury tendencies in adolescents. The data collection method in this study used the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) scale which consisted of 25 items. Meanwhile, to measure self-injury tendencies, the Indonesian version of the Self Harm Inventory was used, which consisted of 22 items. Participants in this study were 299 adolescents aged 15-19 years. The results of this study indicate that the subscales of emotional problems, problems with peers, and hyperactivity on the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire can predict self-harm behavior in adolescents. Meanwhile, prosocial behavior and behavioral problems cannot predict self-harm behavior in adolescents. Therefore, further research is needed regarding the factors that influence the results of this study.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of cultural integration programs in enhancing the tolerance attitudes of students at Pesantren Modern Al-Hidayah, Jambi. The program is designed to teach cultural diversity through interactive activities such as cultural festivals, intercultural dialogues, and active engagement with the surrounding community. The social issue underlying this research is the lack of effective interaction between students and the community, which can lead to misunderstandings and intolerant attitudes. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through a case study, the research involves students, educators, and the local community as primary respondents. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation of cultural integration activities. The findings indicate that the program successfully enhances students' tolerance by fostering deep cross-cultural interaction experiences. Students reported improvements in communication skills, understanding of local cultural values, and conflict resolution abilities through dialogical approaches. Educators emphasized the importance of a multicultural curriculum supporting the program, while the community expressed a sense of greater harmony with the pesantren through active participation in joint activities. Thematic analysis identified key themes, such as changes in social attitudes, the program's role in fostering social cohesion, and implementation challenges involving cultural value differences. This study concludes that the cultural integration program at Ponpes Modern Al-Hidayah Jambi significantly strengthens tolerance and harmonizes relationships between students and the community. These findings contribute to the development of multicultural curricula in religious educational institutions and serve as a reference for enhancing the role of pesantren as centers for tolerance education in diverse societies.
