Abstract

The creative thinking process of students needs to be developed to generate new ideas when solving mathematical problems. One of the causes of students' difficulties in developing a creative thinking process is different learning styles because differences can affect the student's understanding. This study aims to describe the creative thinking process of students in solving mathematical problems based on learning styles. The subjects of this study are 3 students of MTsN 1 Makassar, each representing one subject: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles. The study results showed that at the preparation stage, subjects with visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles could carry out the creative thinking process well, as shown by expressing essential ideas from the questions. At the incubation stage, subjects with visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles can develop ideas for solving problems by writing step by step. In the illumination stage, the subject's visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles allow them to express their ideas verbally well. At the verification stage, the visual learning style has not been verified compared to other alternative solutions; auditory and kinesthetic always re-check the answers, re-verify the work results, and compare with other alternative solutions. Thus, auditory and kinesthetic subjects can produce creative thinking processes in solving mathematical problems based on indicators developed by Wallas. In contrast, visual subjects cannot produce creative thinking processes in solving mathematical problems based on indicators developed by Wallas.

Abstract

This research examines a Toraja culture-based mathematics learning model, known as Beradat, through a literature study method. The Beradat model consists of five continuous stages: ma'parapa (motivation and problem identification), ma'kombongan (problem posing and small group discussion), ma'kombongan kalua' (class discussion), feedback, and mantaa and didosa (reward and reinforcement). Each stage is designed to create a conducive learning atmosphere, respect local culture, and develop students' mathematical skills and understanding comprehensively. The research found that the Beradat model has a number of advantages, including high cultural integration, increased active student engagement, a motivating reward system, and the development of social skills and a positive classroom environment. The model also adopts the principles of problem-based learning, encourages group work, and creates a respectful social system. However, there are challenges in its implementation, such as the need for strong training and support for teachers, time challenges in a collaborative approach, and potential implementation failure if not well supported. Overall, the Toraja culture-based mathematics learning model has great potential in improving students' mathematical understanding and social skills. However, its success requires adequate preparation and support to be effectively implemented in various eduational contexts.

Abstract

Coffee cultivation is an agricultural sector that requires a scientific approach to increase productivity and efficiency. The use of mathematics in agricultural management is still rarely applied systematically, even though various studies show that number-based analysis can help optimize resources. The integration of mathematical concepts in coffee farming can be a solution in facing the challenges of climate change and crop yield uncertainty. This research aims to examine how the application of mathematics can increase efficiency in cultivating coffee plants. The main focus of this research is quantitative analysis of water management, fertilizer distribution, and crop yield predictions based on mathematical models. This study also assesses the impact of using calculation methods on farmers' economic stability and environmental sustainability. This research uses a quantitative approach with survey methods and case studies on several coffee farming groups in Indonesia. Data was obtained through direct observation, interviews, and statistical analysis of production patterns and crop distribution. Simple mathematical models are used to measure the effectiveness of irrigation planning, fertilizer application, and crop stock management. The research results show that farmers who apply a mathematics-based approach experience an increase in productivity of up to 20% compared to traditional methods. More efficient resource management also has an impact on reducing operational costs and increasing resilience to external factors such as weather and market price fluctuations. Integration of prediction models helps farmers make more precise decisions regarding planting and harvest times. This research concludes that the application of mathematics in coffee farming contributes to increasing efficiency, environmental sustainability and farmer welfare. Education and training regarding calculation-based methods are important steps to expand the application of this strategy. Further studies are needed to develop more complex models with the integration of digital technology to increase the precision of analysis in coffee cultivation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that facilitate the cultural adaptation of out-of-town postgraduate students in terms of social and academic interactions at Makassar State University. Out-of-town students often face various challenges, such as cultural differences, more complex learning systems, and limitations in building social networks. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that social support from peers, lecturers, and the campus community are the main factors that help students adjust to a new environment. Intercultural communication skills, participation in student organizations, and the use of technology, especially social media and online discussion groups, also contribute to accelerating the process of student adaptation. The main strategies implemented by students in adapting include building academic independence, developing communication skills, and utilizing digital resources to support the learning process and social interactions.

Abstract

International organizations play a crucial role in protecting human rights (HR) and achieving peace worldwide. The United Nations (UN), the Arab League, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have worked to stop human rights violations and widespread conflicts in various regions, including the Middle East. However, resource limitations, political interests of member states, and the lack of enforcement mechanisms often hinder their effectiveness. Ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, such as the Syrian war and the Israel-Palestine tensions, demonstrate that international interventions have still been unable to bring lasting stability. Despite various policies, such as diplomatic resolutions, peace missions, and humanitarian aid, the results have been limited. One of the major issues faced is the obstruction of neutral conflict resolution efforts by global political interests. Additionally, there is resistance from the warring parties and a lack of coordination between local actors and international organizations. If international organizations wish to enhance their ability to address conflicts in the Middle East, they must take strategic actions, such as increasing sanctions against human rights violators, improving rapid responses to conflicts, strengthening cooperation with local actors, maintaining integrity and accountability, and implementing an inclusive peace approach. International organizations can enforce human rights and create more sustainable global peace by adopting a more flexible approach and collaborating.

Abstract

The main issue in this study is the low quality of the learning process and outcomes of fifth-grade students. This research aims to analyze the improvement in the learning process and student outcomes through the implementation of the Preview, Question, Read, Summarize, and Test (PQRST) learning model. A qualitative approach was used with a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design. The research subjects consisted of one teacher and 19 fifth-grade students at UPT SDN 123, Pinrang Regency, during the 2023/2024 academic year, comprising 12 male and 7 female students. This study focused on the learning process and student outcomes in fictional story material using the PQRST model. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation and analyzed qualitatively. In Cycle I, teacher and student observations were categorized as C. In Cycle II, teacher and student observations improved to category B. In conclusion, the implementation of the PQRST model can enhance both the learning process and student outcomes in reading fictional stories. Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of financial literacy and financial inclusion on employees' financial behavior, as well as to test the role of lifestyle as a mediating variable in these relationships. The research was conducted on employees of PT Permodalan Nasional Madani Aceh Branch using a quantitative approach with a survey method involving 100 respondents. Data analysis was carried out using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Square to test the direct and mediating relationships between variables. The findings reveal that financial literacy influences financial behavior, and financial inclusion also influences financial behavior. However, financial literacy does not affect lifestyle, while financial inclusion influences lifestyle. Lifestyle significantly affects financial behavior. Nevertheless, this study shows that lifestyle cannot mediate the relationship between financial literacy and financial behavior, nor between financial inclusion and financial behavior. These results emphasize the importance of financial literacy and financial inclusion in shaping positive financial behavior, with lifestyle serving as a significant direct supporting factor but not as a mediator. Efforts to enhance financial literacy and improve access to financial inclusion can serve as key strategies for improving employees' financial behavior.
