Abstract

The background of this study is the low fine motor skills of children in imitation activities, which are caused by the less than optimal use of learning media that can stimulate children's finger skills and the minimal involvement of physical activity in the learning process which tends to be one-way. This study aims to describe the activities carried out by teachers and children, as well as the development of children's fine motor skills, especially in terms of imitation of shapes, through a qualitative approach with the PTK method for 4 meetings. The research findings show that the combination of the Project Based Learning model, demonstration methods, and the use of kokoru paper media has been proven to be able to increase children's activities and support fine motor development. Thus, it is hoped that these findings can help principals, teachers, and future researchers to improve the quality of early childhood education.

Abstract

The rapid development of 21st-century technology has brought both positive and negative impacts on the behavior of young generations. One of the negative effects is the decline in character education among elementary school students, marked by impolite behavior, lack of respect, and excessive dependence on technology. To address this issue, the application of unggah-ungguh, a Javanese cultural value system, can serve as an effort to build students' character. This study aims to describe the concept of unggah-ungguh, identify its practices in elementary schools, and examine its role and effectiveness in character formation. The research method used is a literature review by analyzing books, journals, scientific articles, and relevant previous studies. The results show that character education based on unggah-ungguh, such as tata krama (politeness), lembah manah (humility), andhap asor (respectfulness), tepa slira (tolerance), grapyak (friendliness), and ewuh-pekewuh (consideration), successfully fosters students’ courtesy, respect, and social awareness. Practices in SD Negeri Jetisharjo and SD Negeri Pleret Lor have proven that integrating unggah-ungguh values creates a harmonious learning environment and nurtures students’ cultural identity. Collaboration between schools, parents, and communities is essential for the success of culturally-based character education.

Abstract

The ability to speak is an essential communication skill that needs to be developed from an early age. In elementary school students, mastery of this ability is often hampered by psychological factors such as shyness, lack of self-confidence, or social anxiety, as well as cognitive constraints in composing and organizing ideas coherently. This article elaborates on the strategic role of various innovative media in improving speech communication in elementary school students. The discussion focuses on the integration of visual, audio-visual, and interactive media that can create a fun, inclusive, and highly effective learning environment. The elaboration includes an in-depth review of basic communication theories and the developmental characteristics of elementary school students, as well as detailed identification and description of relevant media types, complete with practical guidelines for implementing and evaluating their use in the classroom. The research method used is a systematic literature study from various leading academic sources. The results of the discussion show that the strategic use of media can facilitate the process of learning to speak, reduce anxiety, and increase student motivation. It is hoped that this article will provide comprehensive insights and practical guidelines for educators, parents, and educational policy makers in selecting, designing, and utilizing the right media to encourage elementary school students to become confident, articulate, and persuasive speakers.

Abstract

The selection of suitable instructional models significantly contributes to raising the quality of learning interactions between teachers and students. The present classroom-based action research was implemented with fifth-grade students at SDN Kertak Hanyar 1–3, Banjar Regency, to evaluate the impact of implementing Problem-Based Learning, Numbered Heads Together, and the ULTRASI game on learning activities, problem-solving skill, and mathematics achievement in the topic of "Angles." Data were collected through assessments of problem-solving skills, observations of the learning process, and both individual and group written tests. The findings revealed that all three instructional models effectively improved student participation, problem-solving skills, and academic performance. PBL supported students in developing systematic approaches to problem-solving, NHT strengthened collaboration and group accountability, while ULTRASI enhanced conceptual understanding through engaging and visually appealing media. The successful implementation of these strategies was evidenced by the achievement of predetermined performance indicators.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of product quality, brand image, word of mouth, price perception, and promotion on purchase interest in momoyo products in Jember Regency. The type of research used is quantitative research. The data used is primary data obtained by distributing questionnaires to momoyo consumers in Jember. The population in this study were all consumers who had purchased momoyo products from the Jember branch, with a sample size of 60 respondents determined using purposive sampling techniques based on certain criteria. The data collection technique used a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The data analysis methods used in this study include validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, coefficient of determination (R²), and hypothesis testing with the help of IBM SPSS. The results of this study indicate that simultaneously the five independent variables have a significant effect on purchase interest, partially word of mouth and promotion have a significant effect on purchase interest, while product quality, brand image, and price perception do not have a significant effect partially on purchase interest. This finding indicates that word of mouth and promotion strategies have an important role in shaping purchase interest in products, and can be used as a basis for companies in developing targeted marketing strategies

Abstract

Critical thinking is a crucial skill in education, especially in mathematics, as it contributes to deeper understanding and effective problem-solving abilities. However, students often rely on AI-based technologies such as Photomath and ChatGPT without fully understanding the underlying concepts, which may hinder the development of their critical thinking skills. This study aims to: (1) analyze how Artificial Intelligence is used by Mathematics Education students at UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta in the 2024/2025 academic year; (2) analyze the level of students' critical thinking abilities; and (3) determine whether there is a relationship between the use of Artificial Intelligence technology and the critical thinking abilities of Mathematics Education students at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta. This research employs a quantitative method with a correlational approach. The population consists of all 2022 cohort students in the Mathematics Education Study Program at UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta, totaling approximately 85 students. The sample was selected using cluster random sampling, with a total of 28 respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires, tests, and documentation, focusing on the use of AI technology and students' critical thinking levels. Data analysis was conducted using the product-moment correlation method with SPSS version 25.00, including tests for validity, reliability, normality, and hypothesis testing to measure the relationship between AI usage and critical thinking skills. The research results show that 1) Students actively use AI applications such as Photomath and ChatGPT in their academic activities. Based on questionnaire results from 28 respondents, the average scores of AI usage were categorized as moderate to high in frequency (67.64), purpose (70.54), and independence (68.82). This indicates that students are quite active in using AI technology, particularly in understanding materials, solving problems, and finding solutions to mathematical questions. However, such intense usage also suggests a tendency toward dependency on these technologies. 2) Students' critical thinking ability is generally in the moderate category, with an average score of 70.93. About 57.1% of students fall into the moderate category, 32.1% in the high category, and 10.8% in the low category. Students show fairly good performance in the aspects of clarification, assessment, and inference, although they still struggle with the strategy/tactics aspect, indicating the need for learning reinforcement that supports reflective and systematic thinking processes. 3) Based on the results of data analysis using the Pearson correlation test, the correlation coefficient (r) was found to be -0.070 with a significance value (Sig. 1-tailed) of 0.363. Since the significance value is greater than 0.05, it indicates that there is no relationship between the use of AI and the level of critical thinking

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of trust, promotion, convenience, risk and lifestyle on purchasing decisions using shopee paylater in students of the Mandala Jember Institute of Technology and Science. This study uses a questionnaire distribution method with purposive sampling. The data analysis method uses multiple linear regression analysis with the help of IBM SPSS Statistict 25. The population of this study is students of the Mandala Institute of Technology and Science in 2021. The results of this study show that trust, promotion, and convenience partially have a significant effect on purchase decisions, while risk and lifestyle partially do not have a significant effect on purchase decisions. Simultaneously, trust, promotion, convenience, risk and lifestyle have a significant effect on purchase decisions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the participatory communication implemented by the Student Regiment (Menwa) Coordinator of Region 1 Surabaya in its efforts to increase university students' interest in national defense. Stemming from the issue of declining student interest in Menwa activities, the research explores how communication plays a vital role in fostering awareness and participation. Using the theory of participatory communication influenced by Paulo Freire’s ideas and a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings show that the communication carried out by Menwa is active and inclusive, directly engaging students and successfully raising awareness of the importance of national defense. This study contributes to the field of communication science, particularly in the implementation of communication strategies in civic education contexts. The research recommends a more humanistic and dialogic communication approach to attract younger generations to national issues.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe teacher activities, analyze children's activities, and analyze the results of children's fine motor skill development. This study used a qualitative approach with Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted over four meetings. The subjects were 15 children in Group B at Pembina State Kindergarten, East Banjarmasin. The results showed that teacher activities were in the “Very Good” category with a score of 26. Children's activities were in the “Very Active” category with a score of 100%. The results of children's fine motor development were in the "Very Well Developed" category with a score of 100%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of product quality and brand image on the loyalty of Faznet internet service users in Padang City. The background of this research is based on the increasing competition in the internet service provider industry, characterized by the growing number of competitors and the decline in Faznet’s customer growth in 2024. This research employed a quantitative approach with a survey method by distributing questionnaires to 137 respondents who are Faznet customers in Padang City. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with the criteria of customers who had subscribed for at least six months, while the data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS. The results showed that product quality had a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty, as did brand image, which also had a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty. Simultaneously, product quality and brand image positively and significantly influenced the loyalty of Faznet customers in Padang City. These findings emphasize that improving service quality and strengthening brand image are crucial factors in maintaining and increasing customer loyalty.
