Abstract

Emotional intelligence is an important part in building effective leadership behavior, and is believed to be able to color the dynamics of leadership so far, so that it can then increase the loyalty of individual performance in the organization. Therefore, a leader must be able to move, arouse, motivate and inspire other individuals in the organization. Leadership behavior in Islamic educational institutions is an actualization of the internalization of values inherent in his personality and emotional intelligence. Thus the results of the discussion of emotional intelligence-based leadership can give birth to two aspects, including: a) emotional intelligence-based leadership is more effective and has an influence on the loyalty of individual performance in Islamic education organizations, where high and low emotional intelligence also affects the high and low loyalty of individual performance. b) the emotional intelligence of a leader cannot be measured by the level of education, and has good emotional intelligence.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of using Smart TV as a learning medium at Madrasah Aliyah Darul Hasan on the quality of the teaching and learning process. Using a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The study results indicate that Smart TV successfully creates more engaging, interactive, and relevant learning. Visual features such as videos, animations, and graphics help students understand complex materials and increase enthusiasm, participation, and involvement in class discussions. From the teacher's perspective, using Smart TV allows for more varied and efficient delivery of materials. Features such as digital quizzes, simulations, and educational applications support collaborative and dynamic learning. This implementation also successfully increases students' learning motivation, which positively impacts their learning outcomes. However, this study identified several challenges, including the need for teacher training to optimize technology and regular device maintenance. Support from the principal and the school is a significant factor in the success of this innovation, especially in areas with limited access to technology. The conclusion of this study shows that the implementation of Smart TV significantly contributes to improving the quality of education at Madrasah Aliyah Darul Hasan. In the future, closer integration with the curriculum, ongoing teacher training, and student mentoring are needed to maximize the potential of this technology. With consistent support, the use of Smart TV has the potential to provide a positive long-term impact on the world of education.

Abstract

Modernizing the Islamic education curriculum is an urgent need in the era of globalization and technological development. Traditional curricula, although effective in forming spiritual values, tend to be less relevant in meeting the demands of 21st century skills, such as critical thinking, digital literacy, and global collaboration. This research aims to analyze the current condition of the Islamic education curriculum, identify the main challenges in the modernization process, and examine strategies for integrating Islamic values with technology and contemporary pedagogical approaches. This research approach is qualitative with descriptive-analytical methods. Data was collected through literature studies, in-depth interviews, observations, and case studies at Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia. The research results show that cultural resistance, limited access to technology, and low readiness of teaching staff are the main challenges in curriculum modernization. However, great opportunities can be optimized through the application of learning technology, competency-based curricula and multidisciplinary approaches. This research concludes that modernizing the Islamic education curriculum is a strategic step to create a generation of Muslims who are spiritually, intellectually and professionally competent. With a synergy between traditional values and modern innovation, Islamic education can be a means of transformation towards an education system that is relevant, inclusive and adaptive to global needs.

Abstract

This research explores the role of social media in the spread of religious moderation in the digital era, with a focus on the Indonesian context. Religious moderation is considered important for maintaining harmony and tolerance in a multicultural society and reducing radicalism and intolerance. Social media, as a broad communication platform, has great potential to spread moderate values and strengthen interfaith dialogue, especially among the younger generation. However, this research also identifies the challenges faced, such as the spread of hoaxes, conflict, and the commodification of religion. To overcome this challenge, proposed strategies include religious moderation education in schools, campaigns on social media, and increasing media literacy. Digital literacy is the key to making positive use of social media, and collaboration between government, educational institutions and society is essential to create a digital environment that supports religious moderation. While there are opportunities to increase awareness and tolerance, challenges from extremist content and misinformation remain, so collective efforts are needed to address these issues.

Abstract

Traditional Islamic education in Indonesia is still dominated by madrasa education as formal education institutions and Islamic boarding schools as informal education, there are even non-formal Islamic education institutions such as religious teaching in Langgar and in the community. Meanwhile, the concept of inclusive Islamic education in Indonesia should use an approach that emphasizes openness, respect for diversity, and the provision of equal access to education for all levels of society, without distinguishing between ethnic background, religion, social status, or special needs. This is a challenge in itself in the traditional Islamic education system in Indonesia at this time. The concept of inclusive education is in line with the thinking of KH. Abdurrahman Wahid which focuses on inclusive Islamic education characterized by humanism and pluralism without discrimination against diversity and pluralism. The aim of this research is to explore the challenges of the concept of traditional Islamic education in the context of strengthening the inclusive Islamic education paradigm in Indonesia. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, namely in-depth data collection through interviews, observations, and is linked to studies of several Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia, including madrasas, Islamic boarding schools, and other religious education in society. So the implications of this research have a positive impact on the development of traditional Islamic education, especially in terms of increasing inclusiveness, strengthening moderate education, and raising awareness of the importance of adapting to changes in the Islamic education system in Indonesia. Then, this research also found quite significant challenges, such as disparities in the implementation of wasathiyah in various Islamic boarding school educational institutions, differences in the quality of educational resources, and the influence of extremist ideologies that are still trying to enter the world of education. Therefore, a more inclusive education system policy is needed to ensure that solutions are found to the challenges of the traditional Islamic education system, so that it can develop into education that is moderate, open-minded, and ready to face global challenges with a more peaceful and balanced perspective.

Abstract

Effective and efficient financial management is an important element in supporting the continuity and quality of education, especially in Islamic boarding school-based schools such as MTs Muktar Syafaat . This research aims to analyze the priority-based financing planning approach applied at MTs Muktar Syafaat in managing two main sources of funding: sharia payments and school operational assistance (BOS). This research uses descriptive qualitative methods with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation and document study. The research focus includes identifying primary and secondary needs as well as funding allocation mechanisms based on priorities. The research results Operational funding at MTs Muktar Syafaat relies on two main sources: sharia payments and School Operational Assistance (BOS). Sharia payments, in the form of mandatory student contributions, are the main foundation of madrasah financing, used for teacher salaries, teaching materials, and facility maintenance. These funds are also managed by foundations to support other units, such as Islamic boarding schools and mosques. However, this system is vulnerable to fluctuations in revenue, especially during economic instability, such as crises or pandemics. Dependence on the economic capacity of the guardians of students poses a challenge, although the foundation provides payment flexibility.

Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in human resource development. There is community participation that is needed in order to encourage acceleration in order to achieve maximum and sustainable results. Islamic boarding schools are educational institutions that throughout their history have always been close and connected to society. This is a social fact at the Mambaul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, East Kutai. Islamic boarding school that was born in the culture and traditions of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), and grew amidst a heterogeneous urban-industrial society. It is worthy of being studied in various actual dimensions related to the various opportunities and challenges in the process of implementing a form of community-based education or Community-Based Education (CBE) at the Mambaul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, East Kutai. This research uses a case study method, through in-depth interviews and field observations. So it is hoped that we can understand the phenomena that exist in the implementation and development of the Community-Based Education (CBE) model at the Mambaul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, East Kutai. In-depth data mining involved Islamic boarding school leaders, teachers, students and the community/collaboration partners. Observations on various activities and facility sites in Islamic boarding schools are needed to obtain confirmatory validity of the various data needed. Research findings show that CBE can improve the quality of Islamic boarding school education. Active participation in various socio-religious dimensions, a strong collaborative network for guidance and support for facilities, as well as the integration of religious competence with social-religious skills are indications of improving quality. Supporting factors for implementing CBE include visionary leadership from kiai, supportive social and geographical construction, as well as community trust and acceptance. However, there are obstacles in the form of competition between Islamic boarding schools in relatively narrow areas and Islamic boarding school identities that limit segmentation. Overall, the implementation of CBE shows great potential in improving the quality of education and community empowerment at the Mambaul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, East Kutai.
