Abstract

The post-truth era has presented significant challenges for the world of education, especially in the context of Islamic Religious Education (PAI), because the strong dominance of emotions and subjective opinions over objective facts makes it easier to spread misinformation and disinformation among students. This article aims to conduct a methodical study on how PAI can be utilized as a strategic counter-narrative in an effort to develop students' critical digital literacy to face the challenges of the post-truth era. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with an integrative literature review design, using thematic analysis techniques. The research findings show that PAI has important epistemological and pedagogical potential as a counter-narrative through strengthening the values of tabayyun, amar ma'ruf nahi munkar, justice, and honesty that are relevant to critical digital literacy. Effective strategies include the application of critical pedagogy, the use of authentic media, problem-based learning (PBL), project-based learning (PJBL), and interdisciplinary collaboration. In conclusion, the integration of critical digital literacy in PAI learning can equip students with evaluative critical thinking skills, moral responsibility, and cognitive resistance to hoaxes and religious propaganda, in addition to demanding educational policies and teacher training that support sustainable implementation.

Abstract

This study examines the concept of ecological innovation as a strategy toward a just future through multi-stakeholder collaborative approaches to achieve shared welfare. Using qualitative research methods with a library research approach, this study analyzes the integration of social justice principles in the development and implementation of ecological innovation. Research findings indicate that ecological innovation has evolved from technology-centric approaches to holistic paradigms integrating social, economic, and environmental dimensions. Multistakeholder collaboration involving academia, business, communities, and government proves to be key to success in creating conducive innovation ecosystems. Effective collaborative governance models require the role of intermediaries and catalyst organizations in facilitating knowledge and technology transfer. Implementation in Indonesia shows great potential, particularly in sustainable tourism and responsible digital transformation contexts, but faces structural and institutional challenges such as gender inequality and ineffective coordination. This research recommends policy reformulation that integrates local wisdom and environmental justice, as well as developing comprehensive success indicators to support achieving Sustainable Development Goals through just ecological innovation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the contribution of Islamic higher education in shaping the character and ethics of Muslim students. The findings of this study indicate that character education from an Islamic perspective is based on akhlaqul karimah, which emphasizes the importance of moral integrity, a sense of responsibility, and good personality. Islamic higher education has a long tradition in preserving and developing knowledge and spiritual values. Its strategic role is seen in the effort to incorporate Islamic values into the curriculum, through courses related to Islam such as tafsir, hadith, and Sufism ethics, as well as the development of a curriculum that combines revelation and reason. Values such as honesty, empathy, social responsibility, and justice are taught so that students become intellectually superior and also care about society with moral integrity. With a comprehensive approach that includes academic and non-academic activities, Islamic higher education has an important role in producing a generation of Muslims who are characterful, ethical, and ready to become agents of change in society

Abstract

Marriage is a sacred promise made by a man and his partner to become husband and wife. Basically, each religion has its own provisions regarding marriage. In fact, many interfaith marriages are found, especially this finding is found in Indonesia, where interfaith marriages are carried out so that this practice is a topic of discussion until now, and in practice, many Muslims still practice interfaith marriages. In this library research study, the aim is to examine how Western human rights and Islamic human rights view the practice of interfaith marriage in Indonesia. The results of this study show that from a Western human rights perspective, it can be concluded that the Compilation of Islamic Law as the legal basis for interfaith marriage in Indonesia is not in accordance with universal human rights principles that are anthropocentric in nature. Freedom of religion seems to be a threat to the Western view of human rights in Indonesia. Meanwhile, in Islamic human rights, the prohibition of interfaith marriage in the Compilation of Islamic Law is a natural and correct thing from an Islamic human rights perspective. Human rights and norms in society. In terms of freedom to form a family, religious values must be prioritized over anthropocentrism. This is what differentiates it from anthropocentric Western human rights. Islamic human rights not only recognize the rights of fellow human beings (lawful worship) but this right is based on the basic human obligation which is binding to serve Allah SWT (God bless you) which is theocentric in nature.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the evolution of research on the digital divide in education and strategies for digital inclusion through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 26 peer-reviewed articles published between 2020 and 2025. Using the PRISMA approach, data were categorized by research focus, year, and journal quality, followed by thematic and bibliometric analysis. The results reveal a significant shift from access-oriented research during the COVID-19 pandemic toward technology-based pedagogical innovation and sustainable digital inclusion strategies. Three main phases emerged: access and digital literacy (2020–2021), pedagogical innovation through Learning Management Systems and Game-Based Learning (2022–2023), and the adoption of Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality in inclusive education (2024–2025). Socio-economic and gender factors significantly influence digital literacy outcomes, while technology-driven pedagogy enhances learning participation. The study concludes that effective digital inclusion requires a multidimensional approach integrating social, technological, and policy aspects. The findings provide a theoretical foundation for future research and evidence-based policymaking in equitable digital education.

Abstract

This article discusses the conceptual link between leadership management, emotional intelligence, and the Emotional Inquiry learning model in the context of competency-based training. This study aims to examine how emotional intelligence is a crucial component in the effectiveness of leadership management, and how competency-based training that applies a reflective learning model can support leadership competency certification. The writing method uses a literature-based study approach by reviewing classical and contemporary scientific literature in the fields of leadership, emotional intelligence, and competency-based learning design. The results of the study indicate that effective leadership management requires not only intellectual intelligence and technical skills, but also high emotional intelligence to manage interpersonal relationships and strategic decision-making. Furthermore, competency-based training that adopts the Emotional Inquiry model can strengthen the reflective and affective dimensions of participants, so that the competency certification process more holistically reflects leadership capabilities. The implications of this study point to the need for integration between cognitive, affective, and socio-emotional aspects in the design of competency-based leadership training programs in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the institutional reform of the Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LPPM) of Institut Agama Islam Yasni Bungo during 2023–2025 strengthened the research ecosystem and transformed research into measurable social impact through the localization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Using a descriptive qualitative case study design, the study collected data from institutional documents, interviews, and field observations. The data were analyzed through thematic analysis to identify patterns of organizational change, SDGs alignment, and impact translation. The findings show that LPPM successfully institutionalized the SDGs within its Research and Community Service Roadmap, formed research groups, implemented internal grant schemes, and redesigned Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) as a community-based learning model aligned with SDGs themes such as food security, education, entrepreneurship, and sustainability. These reforms strengthened academic collaboration, enhanced research productivity, and established measurable community impact. Theoretically, this study integrates Organizational Change Theory, Research Ecosystem Theory, and Islamic Epistemology to propose a Southern Islamic model of transformation guided by the principles of ‘ilm al-nafi’ (beneficial knowledge), adl al-ma‘rifah (epistemic justice), and maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah (moral purpose). The study concludes that institutional reform in Islamic higher education becomes effective when scientific, managerial, and moral dimensions are harmonized to create sustainable and just knowledge systems.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of the Curriculum of Love within madrasah education through the implementation of humanistic and meaningful chemistry learning. The Curriculum of Love emphasizes compassion, empathy, and moral awareness as core values in developing students’ holistic character. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this research investigates how chemistry learning often viewed as abstract and formulaic can be transformed into a medium for nurturing love for God, humanity, and nature. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with teachers, and document analysis. The findings reveal that the integration of love-based values is effectively achieved when teachers design contextual learning experiences that connect chemical concepts with real life moral and environmental issues. Humanistic approaches such as dialogue, reflection, and cooperative learning foster students’ affective engagement, while meaningful learning strategies enhance their understanding and appreciation of chemistry as a manifestation of divine order. The study concludes that embedding the Curriculum of Love within chemistry learning strengthens both cognitive mastery and emotional-spiritual intelligence, supporting the broader goal of madrasah education to produce knowledgeable and compassionate individuals.

Abstract

The Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET) is a critical tool for ensuring the quality of higher education. However, SET results do not always comprehensively capture students' perspectives. Factors such as ambiguous evaluation forms, varying interpretations of questions, and the influence of non-academic factors on student responses can impact the reliability of the results. This research aims to reveal students' positive perceptions of the SET and uncover students' negative perceptions of the SET. This study employs a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The participants consisted of eight informants, including lecturers and students. Data collection methods included in-depth interviews. The data were analyzed using a thematic approach. The validity of the data was ensured through check and recheck, researcher diligence, time triangulation, researcher triangulation, rechecking, and confirmation with informants. The findings indicate that informants held positive and negative perceptions of various aspects of the learning process. Seven key criteria related to student satisfaction were identified, spanning both offline and online learning environments. These criteria were based on student evaluations conducted at the end of each semester. Overall, the perceptions provided by the informants were consistent with the lecturers' expertise and understanding in their respective fields.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of character education in the holistic personality development of Islamic boarding school students, encompassing intellectual, spiritual, moral, and social aspects. The main focus of the study is how character values are instilled in the Islamic boarding school environment as an effort to shape individuals with noble character and usefulness in society. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach, through observation, in-depth interviews with caregivers, ustadz, and students, and documentation analysis. The results show that character education in Islamic boarding schools is implemented through the habituation of worship, teacher role models, discipline, social interaction, and the integration of Islamic values into learning activities and daily life. This implementation not only shapes individual morality but also develops emotional intelligence, independence, and social awareness in students. The implications of this study confirm that consistent and comprehensive character education can produce a generation of students with holistic personalities, ready to face global challenges without losing their Islamic identity. Furthermore, these findings can serve as a reference for other educational institutions in developing sustainable character development models.
