Abstract

Mangrove forest is a very fertile ecosystem and is located in the coastline so that it has a major contribution to the surrounding environment. Mangrove tree litter that falls will be a food source for aquatic biota and nutrients that greatly determine the productivity of marine fisheries. The purpose of this study was to analyze the production of nutrients (N, P) from mangrove leaf litter, suspect the primary production of phytoplankton from nutrients released from mangrove leaf litter, and to estimate the carrying capacity of the mangrove ecosystem on fish production. This research station determination method uses a purposive randome sampling method with reference to the mangrove density and determination of the sampling point. Litter production measurements using themethod litter trap and decomposition rate using themethod litter bag. Estimation of fish production using the Beveridge (1984) method approach. The amount of nutrients released by mangrove Avicennia sp. per day at the mangrove Information Center which is 0.0350-0.0503 g N / m / day and the release of Phosphorus ranges between 0.0018-0.0053 g P / m2 / day. The value of primary production in the mangrove ecosystem information center Wonorejo-Surabaya is quite high ranging from 460 to 690 g C / m2 / yr, and is included in the category of fertile to very fertile. Herbivor fish production ranges from 462.04 to 690 kg / ha / yr; Carnivorous fish ranged from 46.20 to 69 kg / ha / yr and total fish production ranged from 595.80 kg / ha / yr. The total fish production illustrates the potential of fish production contributed from the mangrove ecosystem at 595.80 kg / year.

Abstract

Carrying capacity of aquatic ecosystems is a crucial concept in ensuring the sustainability of these ecosystems amidst increasing human activities, particularly intensive aquaculture. This study aims to review the literature on aquatic carrying capacity, focusing on the methods and parameters used in related research and the implications of these findings for environmental management. Using a literature study approach, several journals related to the aspects of aquatic carrying capacity were collected and analyzed. The review indicates that factors such as water quality, types of macrophytes used to control eutrophication, and aquaculture management techniques significantly influence the carrying capacity of aquatic systems. A comprehensive understanding of aquatic carrying capacity is essential for developing effective and sustainable management policies.

Abstract

The large-scale seaweed industry downstream modeling project on the coast of Ekas Buana village, East Lombok district, has been made a national strategic project by the central government. The potential of natural resources owned by the Ekas Buana coast has made policy makers from the center to stakeholders at the regional level utilize the coastal area optimally and complexly with a relatively narrow area. The purpose of the study was to determine the perception of the Ekas Buana community towards the large-scale seaweed industry downstream modeling project. The data collection method used a questionnaire. Data was reduced using a Likert scale and simple statistics and to obtain conclusions were described qualitatively descriptively. The results of the study obtained the perception of the community of cultivators towards the large-scale seaweed industry downstream project in the categories of know, agree, and positive, a percentage score of 33.4% was obtained, and in the category of Don't Know, Disagree, Not Positive a percentage score of 35.8% was obtained, and in the category of Very Don't Know, Very Disagree, Very Not Positive a percentage score of 17.6% was obtained, meaning that these three categories still dominate the perception of the unexpected category, namely a score higher than the most expected score. The perception of the community from the government, business elements and community leaders was dominated by a good perception, where the respondents' answers were dominated by the most expected answer, namely 43.56%.The conclusion of this study is that the perception of the Ekas Buana community towards the large-scale seaweed industry downstream project is dominated by people who have a negative perception, disagree, and don't know. Abstract

One of the businesses that has great opportunities in Lamongan Regency is processed grouper skin rambak crackers. One of the processing areas for fish skin crackers in the Lamongan area is in Sungegeneng Village, Sekaran District. The large amount of waste from grouper handling factories has provided business opportunities to process grouper skin waste into rambak crackers. The realization of the grouper skin cracker processing business is still not growing rapidly, so input is needed to find a business development strategy. The purpose of this study is to find out the characteristics of business actors and business profiles as well as identify internal and external factors that affect business development and then formulate strategies that can be applied in the development of fish skin cracker business. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach and the case unit is the processing of grouper fish skin crackers in Sungegeneng Village, Sekaran District, Lamongan Regency. The results of the analysis in the SWOT matrix obtained the coordinates (0.767; 1,210) which is located in quadrant I (one) or growth conditions, namely the SO strategy (strenght and opportunities) that supports aggressive growth policies. The strategy that can be applied is to maintain product quality by choosing raw materials that are still fresh and processing grouper fish skins properly in accordance with Good Fish Processing Practices (CPIB), improving more modern processing technology by using adequate drying technology to meet large market demand, improving the bookkeeping system, and utilizing government support in marketing products and capacity building through training Digital Marketing organized by related stakeholders.

Abstract

Pathogenic bacteria are one of the main challenges in the cultivation of Pangasianodon hypophthalmus because they can cause organ damage and even death. The utilisation of natural ingredients such as Archidendron pauciflorum peel extract is one alternative to improve fish health in an environmentally friendly manner. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of adding Archidendron pauciflorum peel extract in feed on haematological parameters of Pangasianodon hypophthalmus. A total of 160 test fish were divided into four treatments with extract doses of 0% (control), 0.01%, 0.02%, and 0.03%, for 21 days. Parameters observed included total erythrocytes, haemoglobin levels, and haematocrit values. The results showed that Archidendron pauciflorum peel extract significantly increased haemoglobin levels and haematocrit values (P<0.05), especially at the 0.03% dose, compared to the control. Total erythrocytes showed a decrease on day 21 in all extract treatments, presumably due to the content of bioactive compounds (tannins, flavonoids, and saponins) in high doses. Bioactive compounds in Archidendron pauciflorum peel extract such as flavonoids, saponins, and tannins are known to play a role in improving haematological parameters, but their use needs to pay attention to the appropriate dose so as not to cause negative effects.

Abstract

The Ministry of Fisheries and Fisheries (KKP) issued the latest policy in the form of Measured Fishing (PIT) to maintain the sustainability of natural resources. PPS Nizam Zachman is one of the fishing ports that implements this policy by providing weighbridge facilities. Weighbridges are useful in recording the production of landed catches. One of the highest productions at PPS Nizam Zachman is purse seine. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the comparison of purse seine production weighed using a dock scale with a weighbridge. The method used in this study is in the form of a survey. This study uses primary data obtained through interviews, as well as secondary data obtained through the annual report of PPS Nizam Zachman. This study uses descriptive and comparative descriptive analysis. The results of this study are the average production of purse seine catch from pier weighers of 3,546,809.30 kg and weighbridges of 3,761,069.60 kg, and an average difference of 214,260.30 kg. The comparison of the two is seen with the T-Test which produces a P Value of < 0.05, meaning that there is a significant difference. The average accuracy level of weighbridges of 94.31% shows that the data produced is not accurate, due to several factors such as the use of blong, the availability of vehicle fuel, and the difference in fish transport drivers.

Abstract

Salt is a strategic commodity that plays an important role in daily life, both as food, industrial raw materials, and in the health sector. Salt processing in Indonesia, especially in coastal areas, is generally carried out traditionally, which includes evaporation and boiling techniques. However, traditional salt processing in many areas, including Jembrana, Bali, still faces challenges related to product quality, production efficiency, and limited market access. Innovations in salt processing technology, such as the use of geomembranes and salt houses, have been shown to improve the quality and quantity of salt production. This article aims to review the literature related to traditional and innovative salt processing, and explore the potential for replicating these innovations in Jembrana. The results of the study indicate that Jembrana has great potential to develop an innovation-based salt industry, by adopting the latest technology and strengthening community-based business institutions. However, several gaps in technology, human resources, and institutions must be addressed to create a sustainable and competitive salt industry. With support from various parties, including the government, academics, and local communities, Jembrana has the opportunity to become a leading region in the production of high-quality local salt.

Abstract

Cumi-cumi (Loligo sp.) merupakan komoditas perikanan bernilai ekonomi tinggi dengan kandungan gizi yang kaya, sehingga berpotensi dikembangkan menjadi berbagai produk olahan bergizi seperti kerupuk cumi-cumi. Pengolahan kerupuk cumi-cumi melibatkan beberapa tahapan penting, di mana proses pengukusan berperan besar dalam menentukan kualitas fisik dan organoleptik produk akhir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh lama pengukusan adonan terhadap tingkat kesukaan kerupuk cumi-cumi (Loligo sp.) sehingga menghasilkan produk yang disukai oleh panelis, serta menganalisis sifat fisik dari kerupuk cumi-cumi yang disukai. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Pengolahan hasil Perikanan Fakultas Perikanan dan Ilmu Kelautan Universitas Padjadjaran, dan Laboratorium Fakultas Teknologi Industri Pertanian Universitas Padjadjaran pada bulan Desember 2024 hingga Februari 2025. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental dengan 3 perlakuan lama pengukusan adonan yaitu 30 menit, 45 menit dan 60 menit. Parameter yang diamati yaitu karakteristik organoleptik yang dinilai oleh 20 panelis semi-terlatih yang meliputi kenampakan, aroma, rasa dan tekstur, serta sifat fisik seperti uji kekerasan dan uji daya kembang. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil pengamatan uji Hedonik dianalisis menggunakan uji Friedman dan data yang diperoleh dari uji kekerasan dianalisis secara deskriptif serta uji daya kembang dianalisis menggunakan analisis ANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kerupuk cumi-cumi dengan lama pengukusan 45 menit merupakan perlakuan yang paling disukai oleh panelis dengan nilai rerata kenampakan 7,9; aroma 7,4; rasa 8,0; dan tekstur 8,0. Hasil uji tekstur (hardness) perlakuan B sebesar 2.301,632 gf dan uji daya kembang sebesar 56,57%.

Abstract

Wilayah pesisir di Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung memiliki biodiversitas mangrove tinggi dengan luas 67.386 Ha. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengkaji sosial, ekonomi, dan budaya masyarakat di pesisir Propinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung. Metode penelitian ini adalah survei. Pengumpulan data terdiri dari data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer diperoleh dari wawancara mendalam (indepth interview) kepada informan yang berjumlah 129 orang dari 13 desa pesisir yang ditentukan secara purposive di Pulau Bangka dan Pulau Belitung. Pengumpulan data primer menggunakan alat bantu kuesioner, observasi dan dokumentasi. Data sekunder diperoleh dari kantor desa dan dinas tekait. Hasil penelitian, kondisi sosial masyarakat meliputi sumber listrik PLN, sumber air utama masyarakat adalah air sumur, jalur transportasi adalah transportasi darat, fasilitas umum meliputi masjid, mushola, lapangan bola, lapangan volley, perpustakaan desa dan tower sinyal utamanya Telkomsel dan Indosat. Agama yang dianut mayoritas masyarakat adalah Islam. Jenis pekerjaan masyarakat desa pesisir yang terdata terdiri dari tenaga pendidik, tenaga medis, bidan, pedagang, nelayan, wiraswasta, pengangguran dan lainnya. Kondisi ekonomi meliputi PDRB kabupaten/kota, yakni nilai PDRB tertinggi di Kabupaten Bangka tahun 2023 sebesar Rp 11.756.196 juta dan terendah di Kabupaten Belitung Timur sebesar Rp 6.211.049 juta. Kearifan lokal atau kebudayaan di Propinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung diantaranya: Maulid, Ruahan, Isra miraj, nisfu syaban, Satu Muharram, Rebo kasan, Peh Cun dan Perang Ketupat. Persepsi masyarakat terhadap keberadaan hutan mangrove dan tambang inkonvensional di wilayah pesisir pada kategori Baik, sedangan partisipasi masyarakat terhadap rehabilitasi/ perlindungan mangrove dan Preferensi masyarakat pesisir terkait perekonomian yang ingin dikembangkan pada kategori Sedang. Preferensi perekonomian yang ingin dikembangkan adalah budidaya ikan, udang dan kepiting, pengolahan ikan seperti kemplang dan terasi, kerajinan nipah dan wisata mangrove.
