Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kelayakan ekonomi usaha budidaya tambak udang vaname (Litopenaeus vannamei) dengan sistem semi-intensif di Desa Ciheras, Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode sensus pada 10 petambak udang yang mewakili teknologi budidaya semi-intensif. Data yang dikumpulkan meliputi biaya investasi, biaya operasional, hasil produksi, dan penerimaan dari penjualan udang. Analisis finansial dilakukan melalui empat indikator utama, meliputi keuntungan (profit), Revenue Cost Ratio (R/C), Break Even Point (BEP), dan Payback Period (PP). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata keuntungan bersih yang diperoleh petambak per siklus mencapai Rp58.750.000. Usaha tambak di Desa Ciheras dinyatakan layak dijalankan berdasar uji kelayakan finansial (Revenue Cost Ratio 1,35; Payback Period 2,54 tahun, dan Break Even Point Rp413.501.004 per tahun). Penerapan operasional tambak di musim hujan lebih menguntungkan dibanding musim kemarau dengan nilai Revenue Cost Ratio 1,64; Payback Period 2,82 tahun, dan Break Even Point Rp134.576.392. Temuan ini memperlihatkan bahwa usaha budidaya udang vaname semi-intensif di Desa Ciheras tidak hanya layak secara ekonomi, namun berpotensi meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat pesisir. Salah satu kunci penting profitabilitas tambak semi-intensif ini menekankan pentingnya efisiensi biaya produksi, terutama pada komponen pakan dan benur. Hasil akhir riset ini diharapkan menjadi acuan operasional tambak bagi pembudidaya, investor, maupun pemerintah daerah.

Abstract

Bagan perahu merupakan salah satu alat tangkap yang digunakan oleh nelayan di Pelabuhan Perikanan Nusantara (PPN) Sibolga, Sumatera Utara. Namun, tingkat keramahan lingkungannya perlu dikaji karena alat tangkap ini sering menangkap berbagai spesies yang bukan merupakan target utama (by catch) dan memiliki ukuran mata jaring yang relatif kecil, yaitu 0,5 inci. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat keramahan lingkungan alat tangkap bagan perahu (boat lift nets) berdasarkan Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries (CCRF) di PPN Sibolga. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Tangkahan Murni, salah satu tangkahan yang berada di wilayah kerja PPN Sibolga, pada tanggal 30 April hingga 28 Mei 2025. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui survei dan wawancara menggunakan kuesioner. Pemilihan responden dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 10 unit kapal bagan perahu dari total 52 unit yang ada di PPN Sibolga. Responden terdiri atas anak buah kapal (ABK), nahkoda, pengurus kapal, petugas penyortir ikan, konsumen, dan masyarakat setempat. Peubah yang diamati mengacu pada sembilan kriteria CCRF. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alat tangkap bagan perahu di PPN Sibolga memperoleh skor 28, yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat ramah lingkungan. Berdasarkan pedoman FAO (1995), skor 28–36 diklasifikasikan sebagai alat tangkap yang sangat ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

This study evaluated the effect of substituting tapioca flour and Modified Cassava Flour (MOCAF) on the chemical characteristics of crackers formulated with Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed. Four treatments were prepared with varying proportions of seaweed, tapioca flour, and MOCAF. Chemical analyses included measurements of moisture, ash, protein, fat, carbohydrate and crude fiber content. Results showed that increasing the proportion of seaweed consistently elevated moisture content (5.32-9.23%), ash content (0.98-2.02%), protein content (2.47-4.04%), fat content (0.29-0.52%), carbohydrate content (84.19-90.95%) and crude fiber (1.57-4.04%) levels in the raw crackers. The highest values across all parameters were observed in treatment KR4 (32% seaweed), whereas the lowest values were recorded in treatment KR1 (without seaweed addition). Moisture, ash, and fat content in all treatments complied with the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) for raw crackers. The enhancement in chemical characteristics were primarily attributed to the naturally high levels of fiber, hydrocolloids, minerals, and protein present in Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed. These findings demonstrate that partial substitution of tapioca and MOCAF flours with seaweed enhances the nutritional profile of crackers, thus potentially yielding products with greater functional value.

Abstract

Potensi ikan sidat (Anguilla marmorata Quoy & Gaimard, 1824) di Indonesia cukup tinggi. Keberadaan potensi benih ikan sidat dari alam belum dimanfaatkan secara optimum untuk dibesarkan sampai ukuran konsumsi, sehingga perlu dikembangkan teknologi pembesaran. Diharapkan teknologi yang diterapkan dan dikembangan dapat dilakukan baik pada skala kecil maupun skala besar. Permasalahan dalam budidaya ikan adalah mempertahankan kualitas air agar tetap baik. Salah satu eknologi yang dapat diterapkan adalah teknologi Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) atau sistem budidaya dengan resirkulasi menggunakan filter alami berasal dari tanaman biofilter. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui penggunaan biofilter berbeda pada sistem resirkulasi terhadap pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup (sintasan) ikan sidat (A. marmorata). Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Kualitas Air dan Biologi Akuatik, Program Studi Akuakultur Fakultas Peternakan dan Perikanan Universitas Tadulako, Palu. Penelitian didesain menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan diterapkan berupa penggunaan biofilter, terdiri dari: perlakuan A = Biofilter Selada, perlakuan B = Biofilter Seledri, perlakuan C = Biofilter Pakcoy, perlakuan D = Biofilter kangkung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan biofilter tanaman berbeda berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan bobot mutlak ikan sidat. Penggunaan biofilter kangkung diproleh nilai tertinggi pada pertumbuhan bobot mutlak (0,29±0,05 g), pertumbuhan bobot spesifik (1,83±0,28%); nilai terendah pertumbuhan bobot mutlak pada penggunaan biofilter selada (0,19±0,03 g) dan pertumbuhan bobot spesifik pada perlakuan biofilter packcoy (1,38±0,21%). Kelangsungan hidup tertinggi pada perlakuan biofilter kangkung (76±8,94%), sedangkan terendah pada perlakuan biofilter seledri (60±14,14%). Hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan biofilter tanaman kangkung merupakan perlakuan terbaik untuk pembesaran ikan sidat (Anguilla marmorata Quoy & Gaimard).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis mutu dan keamanan pangan ikan asin kering yang dipasarkan di pasar tradisional dan modern berdasarkan parameter mikrobiologis dan cemaran bahan kimia. Sampel ikan asin kering dari pasar tradisional (P1) dan pasar modern (P2) diuji sensori, keberadaan Staphylococcus aureus, dan kandungan formalin. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa nilai sensori pada kedua sampel memenuhi SNI 2346:2015, namun pada parameter jamur, sampel P1 memperoleh skor 9 dan P2 skor 8, mengindikasikan adanya kontaminasi pada kedua sampel, meskipun lebih tinggi pada pasar tradisional. Uji Staphylococcus aureus memperlihatkan sampel P1 mengandung 9,1 × 10² koloni/g, melebihi ambang batas SNI 2332.9:2015 yaitu 1 × 10² koloni/g, sedangkan sampel P2 tidak terdeteksi. Uji formalin menggunakan test kit menunjukkan hasil negatif pada kedua sampel, sehingga ikan asin kering relatif aman dari cemaran bahan kimia berbahaya. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa perbedaan kondisi pasar berpengaruh terhadap mutu mikrobiologis ikan asin kering, di mana pasar tradisional memiliki tingkat kontaminasi yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan pasar modern. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah perlunya pengawasan ketat, penerapan standar higiene dan sanitasi, serta edukasi kepada produsen dan pedagang untuk memastikan produk ikan asin kering yang beredar aman, sehat, dan sesuai standar mutu.

Abstract

Efisiensi pakan dan kecukupan mineral untuk mendukung molting serta pertumbuhan merupakan kendala utama dalam budidaya kepiting bakau (Scylla serrata). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai pengaruh suplementasi tepung maggot (Hermetia illucens) dan tepung cangkang gonggong dalam formulasi pakan terhadap frekuensi molting, pertumbuhan, dan kelangsungan hidup kepiting bakau. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap yang terdiri atas tiga perlakuan, yaitu A (kontrol pakan rucah), B (pakan + 5% tepung maggot + 1% tepung cangkang gonggong), dan C (pakan + 10% tepung maggot + 3% tepung cangkang gonggong), masing-masing dengan lima ulangan. Pemeliharaan dilakukan selama 30 hari dengan pemberian pakan sebanyak 5% biomassa per hari. Parameter yang diamati meliputi pertambahan bobot mutlak, laju pertumbuhan spesifik (SGR), frekuensi molting, kelangsungan hidup, analisis proksimat pakan, dan kualitas air. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan C memberikan hasil pertumbuhan tertinggi (bobot mutlak 39,00 g; SGR 1,30%/hari) dibandingkan dengan perlakuan B (18,00 g; 0,60%/hari) dan A (6,60 g; 0,22%/hari). Analisis proksimat menunjukkan peningkatan kandungan protein (36,42%) dan abu (12,35%) pada formulasi dengan tambahan cangkang gonggong. Kelangsungan hidup kepiting tetap tinggi dengan nilai A = 100%, B = 87%, dan C = 93%, sementara tidak terdapat individu yang mengalami molting selama masa penelitian. Secara keseluruhan, suplementasi 10% tepung maggot dan 3% tepung cangkang gonggong mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan kepiting bakau, namun belum efektif dalam merangsang proses molting.

Abstract

The starter system is a vital component in the main engine starting process on a ship, so its reliability is an important factor in ensuring smooth sailing operations. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing preventive maintenance in improving the performance of the main engine starter system on a passenger ship. The study was conducted on the XYZ ship using a descriptive method through direct observation and interviews with the engineer officer. Data obtained included the physical condition of the battery, cable path, solenoid, and internal components of the starter dynamo, then analyzed based on performance parameters before and after preventive maintenance. The results showed several major problems, including heavy starter rotation, rapid battery voltage drop, loose cable connections, and damage to the solenoid. After implementing preventive maintenance such as adding battery water, cleaning terminals, tightening cable connections, and internal maintenance of the starter, there was a significant increase in engine starting speed, battery voltage stability, and starter response. The frequency of previously frequent problems also decreased drastically. The conclusion of this study is that preventive maintenance is proven to be effective in improving starter system performance, reducing the risk of starting failure, and supporting the smooth and safe operation of the ship as a whole. Implementation of scheduled preventive maintenance is recommended to ensure long-term reliability of the starter system.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze business income, profit-sharing systems, and the income of payang fishermen at the Nusantara Fisheries Port (PPN) Palabuhanratu, Sukabumi Regency. The research employs a quantitative descriptive method involving 17 payang fishing boats as samples chosen through random sampling. Primary data were collected via structured interviews, while secondary data came from official documents of PPN Palabuhanratu. The results reveal that the average net income per trip during the off-season, moderate, and peak seasons were IDR 3,500,440, IDR 4,310,359, and IDR 4,130,308, respectively. The profit-sharing system applied is a 2:1 distribution, with two parts for the boat owner and one part for the fishermen, plus an additional 5% for the helmsman. The boat owners earn between IDR 28–61 million per month, helmsmen earn IDR 3.5–7.7 million, and crew members earn IDR 1.2–2.7 million monthly. Compared to the 2024 Sukabumi minimum wage of IDR 3,351,883, only helmsmen during the moderate and peak seasons earn above the standard, while the crew members remain below the minimum wage across all seasons. Factors affecting fishermen’s income include season conditions, number of trips, catch volume, fish prices, and profit-sharing patterns. These findings indicate that the income of payang fishermen remains seasonal and unstable, especially for crew members, necessitating policy efforts to improve their welfare.

Abstract

The success of tilapia farming is strongly influenced by the productivity it produces, but it often happens that the productivity of tilapia produced by farmers is very low. The purpose of the study was to analyze the factors that affect the productivity of tilapia and its effect on the farmers' profit. The parameters measured include stocking density (X1), feed protein content (X2), pond area (X3), length of maintenance (X4), productivity (Y), and profit (Z). There were 40 respondents from Selomerto Sub-district, Wonosobo Regency, Central Java Province. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 22 and pathway analysis. The results of the study indicate that X1, X3, and X4 have a significant effect on Y, while X2 has no effect on Y. Furthermore, X3 and Y have a significant effect on Z, while X1, X2, and X4 have no effect on Z. X1, through Y, has an effect on Z, while X2, X3, and X4, through Y, have no effect on Z. The research data is expected to provide meaningful information to various parties in improving the success of tilapia farming activities carried out by farmers.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the types of striped catfish that have genetic variations and genetic relationships among the test striped catfish. Samples of sutchi catfish (P. hypophthalmus) and hybrid P. hyphophthalmus X P. djambal were obtained from Cijengkol and Subang, West Java. P. djambal from Cirata, P. gigas and P. sanitwongsei from ornamental fish shops in Jakarta. The source of genomic DNA was obtained from small pieces of the combined five caudal fins of each test striped catfish sample. Based on the results of amplification using OPA-2 and OPA-3 primers, genetic variations interpreted with the highest number of polymorphic fragments were found in P. sanitwongsei (3 fragments), P. gigas (2 fragments), hybrid P. hyphophthalmus X P. djambal (2 fragments) and P. djambal (1 fragment), respectively. The results of the NTSYS (Numerical Taxonomy and Multivariate Analysis System) program analysis of the OPA-2 and OPA-3 primer amplicons show that the genetic relationship between P. hyphophthalmus, P. djambal, and the hybrid of P. hyphophthalmus X P. djambal and P. sanitwongsei is relatively close (similarity index 71.30%) based on OPA-2 and 55.9% (based on OPA-3). Otherwise, P. gigas is relatively distant (similarity index 44%) based on the OPA-2 primer and 50% (based on the OPA-3 primer). The OPA-2 and OPA-3 primers can be used to detect polymorphisms of striped catfish species.
