Abstract

The contextually-based numeracy literacy instruction aimed to improve students' capacity to comprehend and utilize mathematical ideas pertinent to everyday life. Numeracy literacy is a crucial competency in contemporary society; nevertheless, polls reveal that pupils' numeracy abilities in Indonesia are still comparatively inadequate. This program offered training for educators and learners to adopt a contextually-based learning methodology. The understanding test results indicated a rise in students' average scores from 51.18 in the pre-test to 81 in the post-test, so validating the efficacy of this method. Furthermore, educators acquired novel perspectives on contextual teaching methodologies, enhancing the engagement and relevance of mathematics education. Periodic assessments indicated that students instructed by this strategy attained superior learning outcomes relative to traditional methods. The documentation of best practices functions as a reference for other schools to implement analogous strategies. This program markedly enhances the quality of mathematics education.

Abstract

Pasir Putih Beach in Kolaka Utara possesses considerable potential as a leading tourist destination. Nonetheless, insufficient infrastructure continues to pose a significant obstacle to attracting additional visitors. This community service initiative seeks to develop tourism infrastructure that meets the need of local populations and adheres to sustainable principles. The Participatory Action Research methodology was utilized to guarantee active community engagement in identifying demands, doing analysis, and planning facilities. The phases of the activity encompassed field observation, focus group discussions, planning, and community validation. The result of this action is a planning document that includes facility designs, cost estimates, implementation timelines, and management strategies. The proposed amenities comprise public restrooms, parking zones, seating arrangements, informational displays, and divided garbage receptacles. The transfer of the planning document to local authorities constitutes the preliminary phase of participatory implementation. This strategy not only produces facilities that address community requirements but also enhances awareness and cultivates a sense of ownership among residents concerning the stewardship of Pasir Putih Beach. This effort aims to foster sustainable tourism development, enhance tourist visitation, and yield economic advantages for the local community

Abstract

Pelatihan mengetik menjadi salah satu langkah strategis untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dasar komputer siswa, khususnya di SMKN 1 Tabukan Tengah. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kecepatan dan akurasi mengetik siswa melalui metode pelatihan yang terstruktur. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan pre-test dan post-test untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas pelatihan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan rata-rata kecepatan mengetik siswa meningkat dari 29,61 kata per menit pada pre-test menjadi 39,19 kata per menit pada post-test, dengan peningkatan sebesar 9,58 kata per menit. Selain itu, akurasi mengetik siswa juga mengalami peningkatan, dari rata-rata 69,14% menjadi 78,92%, dengan peningkatan sebesar 9,78%. Data ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan tidak hanya efektif dalam meningkatkan efisiensi mengetik, tetapi juga mengurangi tingkat kesalahan secara signifikan. Pelatihan ini berhasil mencapai tujuannya dalam membekali siswa dengan keterampilan mengetik yang lebih baik dan mendukung kesiapan mereka menghadapi dunia kerja yang semakin mengandalkan teknologi. Hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi dasar pengembangan pelatihan mengetik serupa dengan metode yang lebih inovatif di masa depan.

Abstract

This workshop seeks to improve participants' comprehension and proficiency in the appropriate management of citations and references. The exercises encompass an introduction to fundamental citation concepts, the significance of precision in bibliographies, and the practical implementation of tools such as Mendeley and Zotero. The training approach consists of theoretical instruction and practical application, culminating in assessment via a final assignment. The training outcomes demonstrate an enhancement in participants' comprehension of diverse citation forms, including APA, MLA, and IEEE, alongside their proficiency in importing, managing, and automatically compiling references. The majority of participants successfully employed the programs' functionalities to facilitate collaborative research efforts. The documentation of activities via Zoom Meetings indicates active engagement from the trainees during the sessions. The instruction effectively enhanced participants' efficiency in the academic writing process. This course aims to serve as a prototype for such programs in the future to improve the quality of academic papers.

Abstract

Academic performance and personal conduct are two interrelated facets within the field of education. Nonetheless, numerous obstacles, including insufficient motivation, diminished self-confidence, and adverse conduct, can impede the achievement of optimal learning results. This initiative seeks to employ a positive affirmation counseling methodology to improve academic performance and mitigate adverse behaviors among participants. The applied strategy encompasses problem identification via focus group discussions, execution of individual and group-based positive affirmation counseling, and assessment of outcomes through questionnaires and observation. The results demonstrate that positive affirmation approaches significantly enhance learning motivation, transform participants' mindsets, and diminish negative behaviors that previously obstructed the learning process. Participants indicated enhanced self-confidence and improved stress management in academic settings. In conclusion, the positive affirmation method has demonstrated efficacy in cultivating healthy mindsets and enabling individuals to realize their academic and social potential.

Abstract

This initiative seeks to improve teenagers' comprehension, awareness, and perspectives on reproductive health through participatory and inclusive teaching approaches. The program was executed in phases, encompassing preparation, implementation, assessment, and follow-up, and involved adolescent participants, educational institutions, and parents. The pre-test and post-test results indicated an average knowledge increase of 85%, especially on reproductive anatomy, sexually transmitted disease prevention, and personal hygiene. Interactive conversations, role-play simulations, and individual consultations were beneficial in promoting active involvement and sound decision-making. The backing of educational institutions and guardians was important in guaranteeing the program's longevity. Feedback revealed that 94% of participants deemed the employed strategies highly successful in facilitating their comprehension of the material. The results of this exercise offer suggestions for incorporating reproductive health education into school curriculum and enhancing the program's reach. This effort aims to cultivate a generation that is healthy, knowledgeable, and accountable for their reproductive health.

Abstract

Penguatan kapasitas dan optimalisasi pengelolaan Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDes) merupakan langkah strategis dalam meningkatkan kemandirian ekonomi desa. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan pengelola BUMDes di Desa Panaikang, Kabupaten Pangkep, dalam aspek manajemen, administrasi keuangan, serta strategi pemasaran digital. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini menggunakan pendekatan berbasis pelatihan, simulasi kasus, dan pendampingan teknis guna memastikan transfer pengetahuan yang efektif. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa peserta mengalami peningkatan dalam pemahaman konsep manajerial, pengelolaan keuangan yang lebih sistematis, serta pemanfaatan strategi pemasaran berbasis teknologi. Berdasarkan hasil survei, mayoritas peserta merasa lebih percaya diri dalam menerapkan ilmu yang diperoleh untuk mengembangkan usaha desa secara lebih optimal. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini memberikan dampak positif dalam meningkatkan daya saing serta keberlanjutan operasional BUMDes. Ke depannya, diharapkan program pendampingan dapat terus berlanjut untuk memperkuat peran BUMDes sebagai penggerak ekonomi lokal.

Abstract

Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan masyarakat Kelurahan Watubangga dalam memanfaatkan aplikasi CapCut sebagai sarana komunikasi bisnis. Sebagian besar peserta awalnya memiliki pemahaman yang terbatas mengenai desain grafis dan teknologi digital untuk pemasaran. Melalui pelatihan yang terdiri dari sesi teori dan praktik, peserta dilatih untuk menggunakan CapCut dalam membuat video promosi yang kreatif dan relevan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan, di mana 95% peserta memahami prinsip dasar komunikasi bisnis dan 85% mampu mempraktikkan fitur utama CapCut. Peserta juga menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi dan memberikan masukan untuk pelatihan lanjutan. Kegiatan ini memberikan dampak positif, membantu masyarakat memanfaatkan teknologi secara produktif untuk mendukung aktivitas bisnis mereka. Keberlanjutan program ini disarankan dengan mengadakan pelatihan lanjutan dan menyediakan fasilitas pendukung untuk meningkatkan hasil yang lebih optimal.

Abstract

The refurbishment of the Pasir Putih Beach entryway was executed to augment the destination's allure and improve the visiting experience. This project employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) methodology, engaging local communities, government entities, and stakeholders in the planning, execution, and assessment phases. The activities encompassed problem identification, design planning, validation, implementation, and evaluation. The redevelopment outcomes embody local character via traditional ornamental features, creative illumination, and ancillary amenities such informational displays and seating arrangements. The engagement of local communities enhanced their sense of ownership and generated economic prospects during and subsequent to the rehabilitation. The evaluation results indicated a rise in visitor numbers and satisfaction with the renovation efforts. This program enhanced the aesthetic, functional, and sustainable design of Pasir Putih Beach, solidifying its status as a premier destination in Kolaka Utara. This exercise illustrates that a participative approach can facilitate sustainable tourist development

Abstract

The socialization initiative about participatory oversight for the coastal town of Tanggetada in the 2024 Election for Regent and Deputy Regent of Kolaka Regency seeks to improve public comprehension and engagement in the electoral monitoring process. This program engaged 47 participants, comprising community leaders, youth, and representatives from fishing groups, utilizing tactics such as lectures, interactive discussions, simulations, and the dissemination of instructional materials. Evaluation results revealed that 90% of participants demonstrated enhanced understanding, with 70% attaining a superior level of comprehension. Participants expressed favorable opinions of the employed methodologies, especially simulations and talks, which were deemed pragmatic and comprehensible. Nevertheless, 10% of participants still necessitate further support. This initiative effectively heightened community understanding on the significance of transparency and integrity in elections and equipped people to actively participate in oversight activities. Subsequent proposals entail enhanced socializing and mentorship, particularly for populations in isolated regions
