Abstract

The purpose of this community service project was to establish a scout troop in accordance with the values of Islamic boarding schools at IAI Badrus Sholeh. The scout troop was established using an Asset-Based Community Development approach. The result of the community service activity is the establishment of a scout troop using the ABCD approach, which includes the discovery stage, where IAI Badrus Sholeh has potential assets that support the establishment of a scout troop. The dream stage, where the enabler formulates the target to be achieved, which is to establish a scout troop in accordance with Islamic boarding school values. The design stage involved discussions on the types of assets that could be used to ensure the successful establishment of the scout troop. The definition stage involved discussions to determine the details of the implementation of the establishment of the scout troop. In the implementation stage, the empowerment team sent a letter requesting a scout troop number to the Purwoasri Subdistrict Scout Headquarters and obtained the scout troop number approval document.

Abstract

In Indonesia, issues related to gender equality remain a significant challenge, ranging from the topic of double roles and emancipation to sexual violence and patriarchal culture. Therefore, the media is needed as a tool to disseminate the importance of gender equality, both through conventional and digital media. The importance of education on gender equality can begin with small community groups, such as elderly groups, Family Welfare Empowerment groups, and other social activist communities involved in local empowerment programs. This community engagement program was carried out at RPTRA in Pondok Labu Subdistrict, South Jakarta. The participants in this activity included administrators from the Pondok Labu subdistrict, the Family Welfare Empowerment group (PKK), and the Elderly Learning Center, totaling 25 participants. The method used was a lecture delivered by the speaker (a lecturer from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, UPN Veteran Jakarta), followed by a question-and-answer discussion session. The aim of this activity was to provide knowledge regarding the importance of gender equality and the role of the media as a tool for promoting gender equality

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Sangatta Utara to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad SAW 1447 H. The main objectives were to strengthen religious values, foster social character, and enhance the spirit of tolerance within the school environment. The two-day event involved collaboration among university students, teachers, students, and the local community. The implementation used a descriptive qualitative approach with participatory observation techniques to describe the process and outcomes of the activities in the field. The results indicate a significant increase in student participation, with more than 85% of students (approximately 620 participants) actively engaging in religious competitions, public lectures, and charitable programs. The involvement of university students in event management contributed to high implementation effectiveness, reflected in 95% on-time activity completion and an observed increase in student discipline among 78% of participants. The charity program successfully distributed 120 donation packages to students in need. Furthermore, the presence of non-Muslim students, who simultaneously fulfilled their own religious activities, demonstrated strengthened tolerance practices, with 92% of teachers reporting a more inclusive school atmosphere during the event. Overall, this PKM initiative effectively strengthened the school’s religious culture, enhanced social solidarity, and fostered tolerant attitudes among students. Thus, collaboration between higher education institutions and schools proves to be an effective strategy for cultivating Islamic values and building inclusive and civilized character education.

Abstract

Bullying remains a recurring form of violence in school environments and has significant negative impacts on students’ psychological well-being, social development, and academic performance. This community service program (PkM) aimed to enhance students’ understanding of the types of Bullying, its consequences, and preventive measures through an educational socialization activity conducted at SMPI An-Nadhliyah Mambaul Ulum, Sangatta Selatan. The program employed direct counseling, expert-led material presentations, and interactive discussions. A total of 40 students, including class representatives and members of the OSIS (Student Council), participated in the activity. The results indicate that students responded positively to the program and demonstrated improved ability to identify various forms of Bullying that were previously unfamiliar to them. Based on verbal feedback and observation, the activity effectively increased students’ awareness of the importance of creating a safe, respectful, and violence-free school environment. The school management also expressed its commitment to strengthening preventive efforts through continuous supervision and guidance for students. Overall, this program proved effective in improving anti-bullying literacy and reinforcing a supportive and safe school culture.

Abstract

This Community Service Program aims to improve digital literacy and awareness of elementary school students regarding the impact of gadget use. The activity was carried out during the Field Experience Practice (PPL) at the Sangatta Islamic College on September 19, 2025, at SDI Mutiara Islam Al Ittiba, involving 85 students in grades IV–VI. The method used was an interactive lecture assisted by visual media in the form of posters and presentations, accompanied by a question and answer discussion. The material covered the benefits of gadgets, the risks of excessive use on children's health and development, and strategies for wise gadget use. The results of the activity showed an increase in students' understanding of the negative impacts of gadgets, such as impaired concentration and sleep quality, as well as awareness of the importance of limiting screen time and selecting educational content. The enthusiasm and active participation of students showed that the interactive approach was effective in improving digital literacy in elementary school-aged children. This activity is expected to become a model for strengthening school-based digital literacy through collaboration between universities and educational partners.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve students' understanding, motivation, and leadership character through a seminar entitled "Improving Innovative and Integrity-Based Leadership." The seminar was held on November 11, 2024, at the Al-Qur'an and Da'wah Alam Vocational School, Kongbeng District, East Kutai Regency, involving 82 student council administrators from junior high schools (SMP/MTs) and vocational high schools (SMK). The activity was carried out for a full day using a participatory approach that included planning, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up stages. Data were collected through observation, short interviews, and documentation, then analyzed thematically. The results showed a high level of participation (95% attendance) and active participant interaction during the discussion. This seminar increased participants' understanding of the concept of innovative leadership, fostered an attitude of integrity, and strengthened intrinsic motivation to lead honestly, creatively, and responsibly. Furthermore, this activity established a collaborative forum between schools as a form of sustainability for the development program. Practically, this seminar contributed to strengthening student leadership character and can serve as a model for replication of leadership development activities in East Kutai and other regions.
