Abstract

This study aims to analyze community empowerment in the management of clean water resources in Sampean Village, Sungai Kanan District, South Labuhan Batu Regency. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that community empowerment is reflected in regular financial contributions, collective maintenance activities, and active community participation in sustaining clean water resources. Although most residents considered the clean water service adequate, several challenges remain, including uneven community participation, dependence on electric pumps without backup systems, and limited institutional capacity in water resource management. These findings suggest that the sustainability of community-based clean water management depends not only on the availability of infrastructure but also on strengthening local institutions and enhancing community participation. This study provides practical recommendations for village governments and local stakeholders to improve sustainable, community-based clean water management.

Abstract

Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) undergoing hemodialysis often face various physical and psychosocial problems that can affect their anxiety levels and quality of life. Important factors in helping patients adapt psychosocially to their condition and treatment are family support and self-efficacy, such as self-efficacy and self-care. Focusing on quality of life and anxiety levels, this study investigates the role of family support and self-efficacy in the psychosocial adaptation of CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis. This study uses a literature review of ten relevant scientific articles published between 2021 and 2025, which were analyzed descriptively and obtained from the Google Scholar, PubMed, ScienceDirect, and MDPI databases. Descriptive analysis was performed on selected articles. The results of the literature review showed that good family support, high levels of self-efficacy, and self-care abilities were associated with lower anxiety levels and better quality of life in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis. These findings confirm that improving psychosocial adaptation can be achieved through the use of a holistic nursing approach that involves the family and strengthens the patient's self-agency

Abstract

The slope along Trunojoyo Street, Songgokerto Sub-district, Batu City, connecting Batu City and Pujon, has a high landslide susceptibility due to its hilly topography and steep gradient, as demonstrated by a landslide event on April 9, 2026, which completely blocked the main transportation access for approximately three hours. This study aims to obtain landslide characteristic data, analyze the stability of the existing slope, and evaluate a reinforcement alternative in the form of a cantilever retaining wall using Geo5 2020 Pro software based on the Limit Equilibrium Method. Field observation using the Slope Stability Inventory Form showed that the slope has a height of 15.00 meters and a gradient of 80°, with a silty sand (SM) soil type. Analysis of the existing condition using the Mohr-Coulomb method produced a safety factor (SF) of 0.68, far below the minimum requirement of SNI 8460:2017 (SF ≥ 1.50), indicating a critical slope condition. Three design variations of an 11-meter cantilever wall were analyzed across five stability components using the Bishop method. The results showed that variation 3, a cantilever wall with two-tier terracing, was the most optimal design, being the only one that satisfied all safety criteria, with an overall stability SF of 1.52 and settlement of 15.40 mm, meeting the 16.5 mm maximum limit required by SNI 8460:2017.

Abstract

The Supreme Court Decision Number 23 P/HUM/2024, which modified the age requirements for regional head candidates during the 2024 local election stages, has sparked ethical debates from a Christian ethical perspective. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach. The findings indicate that the sudden regulatory change potentially violates the principles of justice, truth, and propriety in Christian ethics. The analysis draws on multiple disciplines, including philosophical ethics, legal science, political science, social psychology, economics, and theology. To address these ethical concerns, the researcher recommends postponing the implementation of the decision, establishing an independent panel, and reviewing the Supreme Court ruling with public input. Relevant stakeholders are expected to demonstrate critical thinking, transparency, principled commitment, and humility. Christian values—such as upholding truth and justice, avoiding conflicts of interest, and maintaining integrity and consistency—must be actualized in resolving this issue to strengthen democratic processes and preserve public trust in the judiciary

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and evaluate a science textbook contextualized with local food crops on plant classification to enhance science teachers’ instructional planning based on the Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) framework of Morine-Dershimer and Kent. The textbook was designed as a professional learning resource integrating content knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, curriculum knowledge, assessment knowledge, knowledge of students, and contextual knowledge. It consists of nine chapters, including seven chapters representing the PCK components and reflection worksheets to support teachers in analyzing teaching experiences and making pedagogical decisions. The study employed the 4-D development model (define, design, develop, and disseminate). Participants were 14 junior high school science teachers in Langkat Regency selected through purposive sampling. Product quality was evaluated through expert validation, while practicality and effectiveness were assessed using teacher responses and pretest–posttest analysis. The textbook demonstrated high validity, with expert feasibility scores ranging from 90.00% to 92.65% and Aiken’s V values between 0.67 and 1.00. Practicality reached 95.26%. Effectiveness testing showed a significant improvement in teachers’ instructional planning ability, with mean scores increasing from 39.33 to 48.33, supported by a paired-sample t-test (p < .001) and an average N-Gain score of 0.562 (moderate category). These findings indicate that the developed textbook is a valid, practical, and effective resource for supporting PCK-based science instructional planning.

Abstract

Type II Diabetes Melitus is a chronic disease often called a "silent killer" that can cause serious complications. This condition frequently triggers anxiety in patients due to concerns about the long duration of the illness, the lengthy treatment process, and potential health risks. Coping mechanisms are a key factor influencing these anxiety levels. This study aims to determine the relationship between coping mechanisms and anxiety levels among type II Diabetes Melitus patients in Nanggeleng Village, Sukabumi City. This quantitative study used a correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 115 respondents selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using the Brief Cope Inventory for coping mechanisms and the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale for anxiety levels. Data were analyzed using the Contingency Coefficient test. Most respondents had maladaptive coping mechanisms and experienced panic-level anxiety. Statistical analysis showed a significant relationship between coping mechanisms and anxiety, with a strong correlation. Patients with adaptive coping mostly had moderate anxiety, while those with maladaptive coping mostly experienced panic. There is a significant relationship between coping mechanisms and anxiety levels in type II Diabetes Melitus patients. Health workers are encouraged to provide psychological education to improve adaptive coping.

Abstract

This study examines the representation of women as "the Other" in 21st-century English popular music through the lyrical narratives of Lily Allen, Pink, Paris Paloma, Halsey, and Taylor Swift. Employing a qualitative descriptive method rooted in textual and feminist literary analysis, the research utilizes Simone de Beauvoir's existentialist feminism and a mimetic approach to deconstruct how female subjectivity, immanence, and patriarchal constraints are textually constructed. The analysis focuses on selected tracks, including Stupid Girls, Hard Out Here, The Man, Labor, and Nightmare. The findings reveal that the concept of "the Other" remains deeply entrenched in contemporary popular culture, operating through three distinct forms: confinement to domestic immanence, performative hyper-femininity, and structural double standards in the professional sphere. These songs expose how modern women are still systematically reduced to supportive roles, objectified based on physical appearance, and denied equal authority despite formal emancipation. However, this study also highlights that these musical narratives do not merely reproduce traditional gender hierarchies. By employing irony, visceral resistance, and non-compliant identities, the lyrics function as critical cultural spaces for female agency, articulating resistance against patriarchal structures and reclaiming autonomous subjectivity.

Abstract

The quality of life for those with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus can be affected by this chronic metabolic illness. Coping strategies are one aspect of mental health that affects life satisfaction. The purpose of this research was to look at how people living in Nyomplong Village, which is part of the UPTD Puskesmas Pabuaran working area in Sukabumi City, deal with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and how it affects their quality of life. This study used a cross-sectional design with quantitative correlations. Using a total  sampling technique, 82 respondents were selected from a group of 85 patients. The data was collected by using the Diabetes Quality of Life (DQOL) questionnaire to evaluate quality of life and the Brief COPE Inventory to examine coping methods. The data was analyzed using a 5% significance threshold and the Chi-square test in conjunction with the contingency coefficient. The majority of respondents reported low quality of life (53.7%), and (58.5%) used maladaptive coping techniques. A good correlation (CC = 0.542) and a significant connection (p < 0.001) were seen between coping techniques and quality of life. Patients' quality of life is substantially correlated with their coping techniques in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. If we want to improve patients' quality of life, we must improve their adaptive coping mechanisms.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the internalization of religious values in shaping individuals' ethics and morals, particularly within the context of education. In the era of globalization and rapid technological advancement, there has been a shift in values that affects the behavior of the younger generation. Therefore, the cultivation of religious values becomes a crucial foundation in building ethical and moral character. This research employs a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the consistent implementation of religious values through teaching, role modeling, and habituation effectively fosters discipline, responsibility, and positive social behavior. Furthermore, the roles of teachers, family, and environment significantly influence the success of the value internalization process. Thus, the cultivation of religious values is not only cognitive but also encompasses affective and psychomotor aspects integrated into daily life. This study is expected to contribute to the development of educational strategies oriented toward noble character building.
