Abstract: Workplace Spirituality and Organization Citizenship Behavior (OCB): Employee Engagement Mediation. Objective:  The study aimed to analyze the role of employee engagement as a mediating variable in the relationship that occurs between workplace spirituality and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). Methods: This research is explanatory, using structural equation modeling as a data analysis technique. Data were collected from teachers of state elementary schools in Langkat District, Deli Serdang District, and Medan City, where the total population was 19,096. By using the Slovin method, a sample was determined to be 391 people, from which the researchers selected teachers with the status of civil servant and government employees with employment agreements. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to research respondents, where the number of questionnaires declared valid was 247. Findings: The results showed that workplace spirituality and employee engagement have a positive effect on OCB; workplace spirituality has a positive effect on employee engagement; and employee engagement acts as a mediating variable in the relationship between workplace spirituality and OCB. Conclusion: Teachers, as an important element in the world of education, are required to always be engaged and show OCB, both towards students, colleagues and the school where they work. With this, teachers will enjoy their work and feel that their work is like educating their own children. Keywords: Workplace spirituality, organizational citizenship behavior, employee engagement.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i1.202420

Abstract

Abstract: The fact is that 38% of students are satisfied and 50% are less satisfied with Indonesian language competency. Another fact, out of 30,564 there are 82.59% categories of sufficient, weak, and very weak language knowledge. Urgency is researched because there is a gap between theory, expectations, and reality. So, the aim is to determine the relationship between knowledge competency and understanding of Indonesian language learning personally, professionally, and socially. Quantitative research method with surveys. Sample of 180 people out of 360. Data collection techniques using instruments assisted by Google. Likert Scale Instrument 1-5. 25.0 Statistical analysis techniques, standard deviation, and mean. The mean level of knowledge and understanding of subject content among lecturers is very high. A relationship was found between the three domains of knowledge, understanding, and personal competence. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between knowledge and understanding of the contents of the personal, professional, and social domains. Keywords: higher education, student competencies, professional and social.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i1.202411

Objective: The objective of this research to describe students' understanding of TaRL and their ability to implement the TaRL approach at school. Methods: This type of research is quantitative survey research. This research was carried out at the Islamic University of Malang with the research population being TPE Pre-service students class 1. The sample for this research was 71 students, all of whom were taken from the research population. The data collected in this research is in the form of the results of filling out a questionnaire. The questionnaire used in this research is valid and reliable. Next, the data obtained was analysed descriptively. Findings: The results of the research show that the average student understanding of the TaRL approach is 4.50 and the average ability to apply TaRL in learning is 4.15, which means the understanding and implementation of the TaRL approach is in the very good category. Conclusion: From the research results, it can be concluded that students can understand the TaRL approach well and can apply it in learning at school. Recommendations for further research are analysing the obstacles and solutions made by students in implementing the TaRL approach. Keywords: pedagogical competency, TPE, TaRL approach, differentiated learning.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i1.202434

Abstract

Abstract: Fostering Intercultural Communication in Primary Education: Designing Two-Dimensional (2D) Dialogic Reading Materials for Online Classroom. Objectives: Within the ongoing process of globalization, intercultural communication has been identified as one of the key competences of the 21st century. In the context of Primary Education, intercultural communication can be defined as the “ability to communicate effectively and appropriately in intercultural situations based on one’s intercultural knowledge, skills, and attitudes” (Deardorff, 2006).  Methods: The design of this research is Research and Development (R & D) by using 4D (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. There are two kinds of questionnaire that will be used in the Define step, they are: (1) needs analysis questionnaire, and (2) expert judgment questionnaire. Findings:  The needs analysis questionnaire is distributed to the English teachers in Primary Education to identify the target needs and the learning needs of the students. The expert judgment questionnaire is used to evaluate the Dialogic Reading material. The data from the needs analysis questionnaire will be analyzed using frequency and percentage and the results are then will be used as the basis to design and develop the materials, while the data from the expert judgment questionnaire were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Conclusion: The integration of intercultural contents with dialogic reading with CROWD questions formula is good online material that can boost primary school students to learn English better. It is recommended that further researcher can create another topic of Dialogic Reading which is more up to date, interesting in its’ illustration or pictures and more advance in the digital technology, for example in the form of 3 or 4-dimensional animation.   Keywords: intercultural communication, dialogic reading, english for young learners.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i1.202425

Abstract: Weblog-Based Flipped Classroom: The Feasibility to Support 4C’s in the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL). Objectives of the study were to analyze the feasibility of using weblogs based flipped classroom learning and how feasible to support the development of 4Cs in CLIL. Methods: using qualitative case study method, the data was collected through observations, semi-structured interviews and questionnaire. The data analyzed descriptively and to ensure the validity of the qualitative data, triangulation technique was carried out by analyzing and comparing the results of interviews and questionnaires simultaneously. Findings: the findings show that the use of weblogs in flipped class design in CLIL classes is feasible and it also perceived positively to support the 4C’s of CLIL. Conclusion: it is concludes that technology-based learning innovations have a big influence on the learning atmosphere and student learning motivation. Further research on how effective the use of weblog based flipped classroom developing the 4Cs in CLIL needs to be done to give contribution to the development of CLIL studies. Keywords: CLIL, feasibility, flipped classroom, weblog.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i1.202448

Abstract

Abstract: Identification of Students' Conception Profile on Chemical Equilibrium Material Using 4TMC Diagnostic Test Instrument. Objectives: This study aims to identify students' conceptions of chemical equilibrium material using the 4TMC diagnostic test instrument. Methods: Pre-experimental research with a one-shot case study design by giving treatment to a group of students and then observing the results obtained. Findings: Some students still experience conceptual errors in chemical equilibrium material. In the concentration factor, students were identified as understanding the concept by 15.3%, not understanding the concept by 43.3%, and misconceptions by 41.4%. In the pressure and volume factors, students were identified as understanding the concept by 16.7%, not understanding the concept by 52%, and misconceptions by 31.3%. In the temperature factor, learners were identified as understanding the concept by 22.7%, not understanding the concept by 48.7%, and misconceptions by 28.6%. Conclusion: Based on the results and discussion of the research, it can be concluded that the development of the 4TMC diagnostic test instrument developed can identify the conceptions of students on chemical equilibrium material. Diagnostic test instruments are important to use as an evaluation material of the learning process carried out by the teacher. Keywords: identification, conception profile, 4TMC diagnostic test.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i1.202439
