Abstract

Educational financing is one of the key factors in ensuring the continuity and quality of education. Amid government budget efficiency policies, educational institutions—particularly independent and growing private madrasahs such as MTs Al-Amien in Kediri City—are required to manage their finances effectively and efficiently. This study aims to explore the processes of: (1) Planning, (2) Implementation, and (3) Evaluation of educational financing based on madrasah self-reliance at MTs Al-Amien. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings show that financing management is carried out systematically and responsibly, starting with the establishment of a Quality Assurance Team by the principal. Budget planning is prepared through the RKAM, guided by the EDM, and involves various stakeholders within the madrasah. The main sources of funding include regular government BOS funds, parental contributions, and non-routine independent funding through external collaboration. Budget implementation prioritizes essential needs, aligns with available funds, and follows strict disbursement procedures. Both manual and digital bookkeeping systems are applied. Financial evaluations are conducted periodically in line with the budget cycle as a form of accountability and to improve financial management quality. All elements of the madrasah actively participate in the evaluation process. Financial constraints are addressed by seeking alternative support through proposal submissions to local or provincial governments and collaborating with PT Taspen. The evaluation results are used as the basis for future budgeting.

Abstract

Selecting the right mathematics learning application is crucial for supporting students' learning processes, but this is often hampered by a wide variety of choices without objective guidance, potentially leading to less effective selections. This descriptive quantitative study describes the implementation of the Multi-Attribute Utility Theory (MAUT) method to recommend mathematics learning applications that align with student needs. MAUT flexibly and comprehensively considers various weighted criteria, making it effective for decision-making with complex preferences. Eight criteria were used to evaluate ten mathematics learning applications: (1) user review count, (2) storage capacity, (3) rating, (4) user count, (5) application usage cost, (6) answer accuracy, (7) ease of use (UI/UX), and (8) step-by-step solutions. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 20 respondents. The calculation process in the MAUT method was carried out through several stages: determining the relative weights for each criterion, constructing a decision matrix, performing normalization on the decision matrix, and calculating the final utility value for each alternative. Based on the calculation results using the MAUT method, the recommended application order is as follows: Photomath, Question.AI, Cymath, QANDA, Gauthmath, Check Math, Symbolab, Mathos AI, Mathway, and Math Workout. This study is expected to provide a practical contribution by helping students and educational institutions choose the most optimal mathematics learning application, and to serve as a basis for the future development of a more structured recommendation system.

Abstract

This study addresses the need to improve students’ cognitive and communication skills in science learning, particularly in understanding ecosystem interactions. In Indonesia, these competencies remain low due to limited student-centered learning strategies. This research aimed to examine the impact of AI-assisted role play as an innovative instructional approach to enhance these skills. A quasi-experimental design with a control group pretest-posttest was applied. The study was conducted in one junior high school in Cimahi on May 5, 2025, involving 22 seventh-grade students in an experimental class. The treatment involved AI-generated role play scenarios to simulate ecological interactions. Data were collected using cognitive achievement tests and communication skill rubrics. The analysis used paired and independent sample t-tests. The results revealed a significant improvement in students’ posttest scores, indicating enhanced conceptual understanding of ecosystem components and ecological relationships. Moreover, students showed improvement in oral communication, collaboration, and scientific reasoning. However, the cognitive improvement was not highly significant, likely due to the limited learning duration and stronger emphasis on affective and social aspects during role play. These findings suggest that AI-assisted role play can support contextual and engaging science learning, particularly in developing communication competence. The study concludes that integrating interactive AI tools within science classrooms holds promise for enhancing scientific literacy in line with the goals of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

The ability to pose problems that require Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) is a crucial competency for prospective mathematics teachers. However, numerous prospective teachers still experience difficulties in constructing mathematics HOTS-oriented problems, especially those with restricted creativity. This qualitative research aims to explore the difficulties experienced by prospective teachers with low levels of creativity in posing HOTS-oriented mathematics problems. This research is an extension of prior investigation that categorized 85 prospective teachers into five levels of creativity, revealing that more than 40% fell into the less creative and non-creative categories. This research data was collected through documentation of problem-posing tasks from previous research and in-depth interviews. Data was analyzed using a thematic approach to identify emerging patterns of difficulty. The result revealed four main categories of difficulty: (1) difficulty posing problems with varying cognitive levels, (2) difficulty posing more than one HOTS problem, (3) inability to pose problems at the HOTS level, and (4) difficulty posing solvable problems. The most dominant difficulty was in the aspect of cognitive level variation. These findings indicate that creativity plays a significant role in the ability to pose HOTS-oriented problems. This research suggests the need to develop targeted pedagogical interventions to support creative thinking processes and question design skills in prospective teacher education).

Abstract

Strengthening emotional literacy is an important aspect of 21st-century education, emphasizing the development of students' social and personal intelligence. This article aims to examine how children's literature, specifically Clara Ng novel Dru dan Kisah Lima Kerajaan, can be used as an adaptive learning medium to foster the ability to understand, manage, and express emotions in a healthy manner. Through a literature review approach and literary psychology analysis, this article focuses on the main character, Dru, who experiences developments in emotional control throughout the story. The findings indicate that Dru's emotional experiences in dealing with conflict, pressure, and socio-cultural differences in the five kingdoms can reflect emotional dynamics that are familiar to children and adolescents. The character of Dru can be used as an adaptive learning resource, as it allows students to identify the character's emotions, evaluate their responses, and reflect on them in a real-life context on a personal level. Thus, children's literature not only has aesthetic and moral value but also plays an important role in building students' emotional literacy through flexible and contextual learning.

Abstract

Academic writing is a central competency in higher education, yet many students struggle to meet the demands of disciplinary courses, particularly in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) context. Collaborative learning, grounded in social constructivist theory, has emerged as a promising pedagogical approach to enhance writing development by fostering interaction, peer feedback, and shared knowledge construction. This systematic literature review synthesizes empirical studies published between 2020 and 2025 that examine the implementation of collaborative learning in higher education settings. This study aims to determine the implementation of collaborative learning in EFL writing classroom (benefits and challenges) using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The SLR method is employed to rigorously identify, examine, evaluate, and interpret the body of existing research concerning a specified phenomenon, guided by clearly defined research questions. This approach enables the systemic identification of relevant scholarly works, with each phase conducted in accordance with predetermined, standardized procedures or protocols. The results indicate that collaborative learning in EFL writing instruction in higher education context boosts organization, grammar, vocabulary richness, fluency, and the ability to structure idea effectively. The students feel more motivated, confident, and less anxious, aligning with the social constructivist view that deeper language development emerges through interaction, meaning negotiation, and collaborative problem solving.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in elementary schools is often still traditional, teacher-centered, and focused on memorization, which makes it less meaningful for students. Ideally, PAI learning should foster active, reflective, and applicable processes in daily life. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Active Deep Learner Experience (ADLX) method in PAI learning at SDIT Bina Insani, Kediri City, focusing on teachers’ strategies, students’ responses, and challenges faced during its implementation. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings revealed that teachers applied structured strategies aligned with ADLX principles, involving students actively and reflectively in the learning process. Students responded positively, as shown by increased participation, deeper conceptual understanding, value internalization, and improved worship practices. However, teachers faced challenges such as limited instructional time, diverse student characteristics, and restricted learning media. The study concludes that ADLX is effective in improving the quality of PAI learning across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. These findings imply the need for institutional support in terms of resource provision, flexible policies, and continuous teacher training to ensure the sustainable implementation of ADLX.

Abstract

This study examines the role of deixis in shaping persuasive sociopreneurship communication on Instagram and TikTok, focusing on six posts (three from each platform) by the Indonesian sociopreneur @aldwinnv. Deixis, as a pragmatic linguistic feature, situates utterances in relation to the speaker, audience, and context, making it essential for persuasive strategies in digital communication. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach within the pragmatic discourse framework, the study identifies personal, temporal, spatial, discourse, and social deixis in the data. Findings indicate that personal deixis, particularly saya (I) and kita (we), builds relational intimacy and credibility. Temporal deixis, such as sekarang (now) and hari ini (today), creates urgency and motivates immediate action. Spatial deixis (e.g., di sini, tempat ini) authenticates the speaker’s experience by grounding narratives in real contexts. Social deixis (e.g., teman-teman, sahabat, bro) varies between platforms, reflecting formality on Instagram and casual solidarity on TikTok. Discourse deixis (e.g., seperti yang saya bilang tadi) strengthens coherence in motivational storytelling. These findings show that deixis operates as a persuasive device that enhances ethos, pathos, and communal identity in sociopreneurship content. The study contributes to digital pragmatics by demonstrating how subtle linguistic cues support persuasive entrepreneurship narratives and offers pedagogical implications for media literacy and entrepreneurship education.
