Darul Ulum: Journal of Islamic Studies, published by Darul Ulum Research Centre of STIT Darul Ulum Kotabaru Kalimantan Selatan since 2008, can be said as the oldest academic journal dealing with the theme in South Borneo. The subject covers textual and fieldwork studies with various perspectives of philosophy, Religion, education, culture, and many more. In the beginning the journal only served as a scholarly forum for the lecturers at the State Institute of Islamic Studies. However, due to the later development with a broader readership, the journal has successfully invited scholars and researchers outside the Institute to contribute. Darul Ulum, published twice a year, always places Islam and Muslim in the central focus of academic inquiry and invites any comprehensive observation of Islam as a theological belief and a system of society and Muslims as those who practice the religion with their many facets. This journal, serving as a forum for the study of Islam in Indonesia and other parts of the world within its local and challenging global context, supports focused studies of particular theme and interdisciplinary studies. Darul Ulum has become a medium of diffusion and exchange of ideas and research findings, so much so that researchers, writers, and readers from various traditions of learning have interacted in the scholarly manner.

Abstract

This study examines the consumption behavior of Generation Z regarding halal products, specifically among students of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Study Program, Class of 2023, at STIT Darul Ulum Kotabaru, on the Shopee platform. The phenomenon of unclear halal information on best-selling products on Shopee raises the potential for gharar due to visual information asymmetry. This descriptive qualitative research utilized in-depth interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation to collect data from five informants. The findings indicate that Gen Z's halal awareness is high but heavily reliant on product visuals. They trust buyer reviews more than seller claims. Technical constraints such as blurry photos and the lack of automatic verification features on Shopee hinder the validation process. This study recommends improving digital halal literacy for consumers, information transparency for MSMEs, and standardization of halal features on e-commerce platforms.

Abstract

The era of globalization, marked by advances in information technology and the flow of cross-border cultures, has brought significant impacts on changes in the values and behaviors of the younger generation. On the one hand, globalization opens opportunities for progress; on the other hand, it triggers serious challenges in the form of moral degradation, weakening character, and a crisis of local cultural identity. This condition requires strengthening character education that is not only normative but also contextual, rooted in local wisdom values as a source of shaping students’ identity. East Kalimantan, as a region rich in cultural diversity, has great potential to integrate local values into character education. This study aims to develop a character education model based on the local wisdom of East Kalimantan that is relevant to the needs of 21st-century education. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, through stages of exploring local cultural values, formulating a conceptual model, and limited implementation testing in educational institutions. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, with data analysis using an interactive model. The results of the study indicate that a character education model based on the local wisdom of East Kalimantan can be formulated as an integrative-holistic model that combines values of religiosity, mutual cooperation, tolerance, social responsibility, and environmental awareness within the learning process. This model is implemented through curriculum integration, culture-based contextual learning, extracurricular activities, and teacher role modeling. The implications of this study show that strengthening character education based on local wisdom not only improves students’ moral quality but also reinforces cultural identity and the relevance of education to the social context of society. Therefore, this model can serve as a strategic alternative for developing educational policies and practices in the region, particularly in supporting the creation of a generation that is characterized, cultured, and adaptive in the global era

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan metode tikrar (pengulangan) dalam pembelajaran hafalan Al-Qur’an bagi anak dengan keterlambatan bicara (speech delay) di SD Muhammadiyah 2 Kotabaru serta mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan hafalan yang dihasilkan melalui metode tersebut. Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya pendidikan inklusif bagi anak berkebutuhan khusus, khususnya dalam pembelajaran tahfidz Al-Qur’an yang memerlukan kemampuan verbal dan konsentrasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas guru tahfidz dan dua siswa yang mengalami speech delay. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode tikrar diterapkan melalui pengulangan bacaan secara bertahap, pendampingan intensif, serta penyesuaian kemampuan siswa dalam menerima hafalan. Penerapan metode ini terbukti membantu meningkatkan kemampuan menghafal Al-Qur’an, memperbaiki pelafalan, meningkatkan daya ingat, serta menumbuhkan kepercayaan diri anak dalam berkomunikasi. Dengan demikian, metode tikrar dapat menjadi alternatif strategi pembelajaran tahfidz yang efektif dalam mendukung pendidikan Islam yang inklusif bagi anak dengan keterlambatan bicara.

Abstract

Pendidikan nilai di sekolah dasar masih menghadapi tantangan karena siswa cenderung memiliki pemahaman yang terbatas tentang pentingnya kejujuran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas bercerita menggunakan boneka tangan dalam menumbuhkan karakter jujur di kalangan siswa Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus, melibatkan 3 siswa kelas satu sebagai subjek penelitian, serta guru dan kepala sekolah sebagai informan pendukung. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara terstruktur, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis melalui reduksi data, pengkodean, dan identifikasi tema. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan boneka tangan meningkatkan antusiasme siswa, keterlibatan emosional, dan kesadaran moral tentang kejujuran. Siswa menjadi lebih berani mengakui kesalahan, memahami konsekuensi berbohong, dan menunjukkan tanggung jawab dalam menyelesaikan tugas. Lingkungan kelas juga menjadi lebih terbuka dan interaksi sosial di antara siswa lebih sehat.
