Socio-cultural changes are very fast and touch changes in value systems, so that they have an impact on the intensity of socio-cultural problems. The research approach uses quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design type, and the research design uses a nonequivalent control group design. Then use the purposeful sampling technique, or judgmental sampling. Research data collection techniques using tests identified through pretests and posttests and non-tests through observation, interviews, and documentation studies Data validation analysis techniques use validity tests, normality tests, homogeneity tests, hypothesis tests, and normalized gain tests. The results of the study show that (1) it can be identified before using the LKPD that there is no significant difference in the pre-test results between the experimental class and the control class before learning begins. (2) There are significant differences in pretest results between the experimental class and the control class before learning begins. (3) The attitude of students towards the application of student worksheets in general shows a very good attitude, and the attitude of students towards the application of student worksheets for everyone shows a very good attitude and influences the increase in student motivation. Thus, LKPD-based learning plays a role in supporting the increase in learning motivation in students.

One of the activities carried out by the teacher is to carry out the process of growing self-efficacy in students, especially for students who experience learning difficulties. The research approach uses quantitative research methods, such as the quasi-experimental design, and the research design uses a nonequivalent control group design. Then the purposeful or judgmental sampling technique. Research data collection techniques using tests identified through pretests and posttests and non-tests through observation, interviews, and documentation studies Data validation analysis techniques use validity tests, normality tests, homogeneity tests, hypothesis tests, and normalized gain tests. The results of the study show that based on the results of data analysis and statistical calculations using Microsoft Excel 2019, there is no significant difference in pre-test results between the experimental class and the control class before learning begins. Based on the results of the data analysis after the teacher played a role in overcoming students' learning difficulties in social studies subjects, there was a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class after learning took place. In this way, social studies teachers play a role in supporting students' self-efficacy.

Abstract

The fact that many judgments are based on low-level knowledge, understanding, and application abilities is another issue with the current judging methods. As a result, possibilities for memorization and fact extraction and surface knowledge creation are created. Yet assessments for the twenty-first century must take into account advanced abilities. This study, which was carried out in class VIII, employed a quantitative strategy and descriptive techniques. In this study, 34 respondents were chosen from a sample of 334 students, who made up the population. The study's findings provide an account of the efforts put forward. Based on the analysis and discussion of the impact of the teacher's ability to create HOTS-based learning on students' critical thinking abilities that were stated in earlier chapters, it can be concluded that the efforts made by Social Sciences educators at Asshidiqiyah Middle School have been successful.

The research method is a quantitative approach to this type of correlational research. The research design used was ex post facto and was conducted in class VIII SMP, Al-Musadadiyah. The sampling technique used in this study is simple random sampling, which provides equal opportunities for each element or member of the population selected to be the research sample. After the data was collected for hypothesis testing, the product moment correlation test and the coefficient of determination test were used, which were processed with the help of SPSS 16 for Windows and Microsoft Excel. The results of the study describe that there is a relationship between the stages of cognitive development of students and the effort to understand population dynamics in social studies learning.

Abstract

The critical thinking ability of seventh-grade students in class VII-I at SMPN 2 Samarang is still relatively low, especially in social studies learning. This is evident from the pre-cycle critical thinking ability test results, which were 43%. This may be due to the use of the lecture model in teaching, which does not actively involve students in the learning process. The Purpose of this research is to improve students' critical thinking skills in social studies learning by implementing the Problem-Based Learning model for class VII-I students at SMPN 2 Samarang. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles with four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data analysis technique involves comparing students' critical thinking abilities between the first and second cycles, illustrated by test results conducted at the end of each learning session.. The results of the Classroom Action Research (CAR) indicate that in the first cycle, students' critical thinking skills improved to 57% with an average score of 69,6. Furthermore, in the second cycle, the percentage of critical thinking ability increased to 86% with an average score of 80,4. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the Problem-Based Learning model can enhance students' critical thinking skills in social studies learning for class VII-I at SMPN 2 Samarang.

Abstract

The background to the problem in this research is the importance of multicultural education in shaping students' understanding and attitudes towards cultural diversity in the era of globalization. However, the challenge of teaching this concept effectively and interestingly remains an obstacle in many schools. This research aims to examine the effect of using Canva-based poster media on understanding multicultural concepts in class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Garut. The research design used is a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group pre-test and post-test design to measure students' understanding before and after using the media. The sample consisted of two groups: an experimental group using Canva-based posters and a control group using Power Point media. Based on the results of the statistical analysis carried out, the initial abilities of the two groups resulted in the same abilities. Meanwhile, the final test results obtained a Sig.2-tailed value of 0.049 and an α of 0.05, meaning 0.049 < 0.05, so the HO was rejected. This shows a significant increase in understanding of multicultural concepts in the experimental class compared to the control class.
