Abstract

Mobilizing People Participation in Education Policy. Education policy is actually made and implemented to solve problems faced by people. Therefore, people involvement and participation should be encouraged in implementing the policy. Obviously, there are a number of ways to involve people to actively participate, but there are also many factors causing them unwilling to take part in the implementation of the policy. Societal involvement can be mobilized by knowing the supporting and the inhibiting factors.

Abstract

This correlational study was intended to examine the relationship between study guide and students’ attitudes, interests, motivation, and achievement. Thirty second-year students of SMUN 9 and 30 of SMUN 14 Makassar were selected at random. The instruments used to collect the data were an achivement test, questionnaires, interviews, and observation. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics as well as regression and qualitative analyses. The findings indicate that the students’ attitudes, interests, and learning motivation were of low category and that their achievement was fair. Attitudes, interests, and motivation were found to have positive correlations with students’ achievement; study guide was also found to have effects on students’ attitudes, interests, motivation, and achievement.

Abstract

Iqro Method for Teaching Reading and Writing in the Early Years of Elementary School. The study was aimed at finding alternatives for teaching reading and writing in the early years of elementary school. The Iqro method, which is known as the successful method of learning Arabic, was adapted and modified into the teaching and learning of Indonesian. An action research design was employed, involving 22 first graders of SDN Sumbersari 3, Malang. The findings indicate that this modified method facilitated and advanced students' ability in reading and writing.

Abstract

Skripsi merupakan tugas mahasiswa yang hendak mengakhiri masa belajar. Beberapa mahasiswa terpaksa menunda yudisium karena belum dapat menyelesaikan skripsi. Kadang-kadang dosen pembimbing membuat pertimbangan tertentu agar mahasiswa bimbingannya cepat selesai. Ini menyebabkan penurunan kualitas atau kriteria kelulusan. Di sisi lain adanya kriteria yang ketat memberikan arahan kepada mahasiswa agar dapat mengerti dan berdisiplin ilmiah yang tinggi. Dalam tulisan ini disampaikan sejumlah pertimbangan, yakni: kriteria teoretik versus realitas, penelitian lapangan versus kajian pustaka, pengembangan ilmu versus penelitian kasus, sampel besar versus sampel kecil, dan penelitian terpisah versus penelitian terpadu dengan PPL/KKN.

Abstract

Effectiveness of Development Program for the Elementary School Principals in the Nine-Year Compulsory Education Era. The aim of the research was to know the success of elementary school principals in their supervision program. The population was all elementary school principals in the district of Sitiung, Sawahlunto Sijunjung, West Sumatra. A questionnaire was used to collect data, which were then analyzed statistically by percentages. The result revealed that 36 % of the elementary school principals were moderately effective, 60 % were highly effective and 4 % were very highly effective in their job as administrators. In addition, 28% of them were moderately effective, 32 % were highly effective and 40% were highest effective in their job as instructional supervisors.

Abstract

The purposes of the correlation research are to search the influence of reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and tangibility on the students' satisfaction. The field of this research was in STAIN Pamekasan. Subjects of the research were 233 through stratified random sampling. The research instruments were questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed by regression analysis. The research found that there were significant correlation reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, tangibility, and the students' satisfaction.

Abstract

 Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji hubungan antara nilai UMPT dan prestasi belajar mahasiswa FIP IKIP Malang serta perbedaan prestasi belajar antara mahasiswa input UMPT dan mahasiswa input Sipenmaru. Dengan sampel rambang proporsional, data dikumpulkan melalui teknik dokumentasi berupa rekaman nilai yang telah ada. Analisis dilakukan dengan uji korelasi momen tangkar dan uji beda rerata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan signifikan antara nilai UMPT dan prestasi belajar mahasiswa FIP IKIP Malang. Tidak terdapat perbedaan prestasi belajar antara mahasiswa input UMPT dan mahasiswa input Sipenmaru di FIP IKIP Malang.

Abstract

This study was designed to develop an instrument to evaluate student's attitudes in Physical Education class. It applied a systemic approach by adopting and modifying an established model implemented in developing products. The result was a set of observation format used to measure and evaluate student's attitudes, together with indicators and descriptors of student's behavior in attending Physical Education class.

Abstract

The Androgynous Education for Children. The androgynous education is a proposed educational model which fits to transformations that might occur in a society that undergoes changes from a traditional to a modern and industrial one. These changes also affect the existing values, which motivate the increasing needs of androgynous education, like the needs of double income families, educational democratization, nuclear families, which call for new balances. This model can only be put into practice with the parents’, teachers’ and societies’ support. The androgynous educational model can only be a success if there is a belief that everyone has his freedom to pursue one’s career.

Abstract

This research was intended to analyze the characteristics and the conceptual framework of the professional development for secondary-school teachers of guidance and counseling. The data were collected from 62 teachers by using questionnaires, attitude scales, and ability test. The results of frequency percentages show that teachers’ professionalism varied, particularly in terms of their subject mastery, profession, and practical experience. Additionally, they had positive attitudes toward guindance and counseling. Unfortunately, the facilities to carry out guidance and counseling services were not adequate. It was then suggested that teachers of guidance and counseling be provided with continuous training.
