Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of cognitive and affective relationships on self-regulation using the Student Team Achievement Division learning model on additives in grade VIII of MTs Islamiyah Gajing in the 2022/2023 academic year. The population was 156 students, consisting of 5 classes, and the sample was taken using Cluster Random Sampling, resulting in two classes: experimental class 1 (VIII-3) with 32 students and experimental class 2 (VIII-4) with 32 students. Experimental class 1 was treated using the Student Team Achievement Division learning model, while experimental class 2 was treated using the Conventional learning model. Data analysis was performed by finding the mean (X̅ ), standard deviation (S), and hypothesis testing (t-test) at a significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed that the average post-test score for experimental class 1 was 85.03 and for experimental class 2 was 84.37, with a difference in learning outcomes of 0.66. The results of the hypothesis testing (t-test) obtained thitung (2.951) > ttabel (1.998) at a significance level of α = 0.05 and degrees of freedom (dk) = 62. Therefore, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means that there is a difference in the cognitive and affective relationship to self-regulation using the Student Team Achievement Division learning model on the additive substance material for class VIII MTs Islamiyah Gajing in the 2022/2023 academic year. It is concluded that there is a cognitive and affective relationship to self-regulation through the Student Team Achievement Division learning model on the additive substance material for class VIII MTs Islamiyah Gajing in the 2022/2023 academic year.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the concept sentence learning model on biology learning outcomes in ecosystems for tenth-grade students of Taman Madya (SMA) Tamansiswa Pematangsiantar. The population of this study was 191 students, consisting of five classes. Sampling was conducted using cluster random sampling, resulting in two classes: class X IPA 1 (38 students) and class X IPA 2 (38 students), resulting in a total sample of 76 students. Data analysis was performed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing (t-tests) at a significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed that the average post-test score for the experimental class was 88.68, while the average post-test score for the control class was 85.13. From the results of the hypothesis testing, it was obtained that t_(Count) (2.338) > t_(table) (1.992), so Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, meaning that there was an influence of the use of the Concept Sentence learning model on Biology learning outcomes in ecosystem material in class X Taman Madya (SMA) Tamansiswa Pematangsiantar

Abstract

This study aims to determine the development of high school biology teaching materials and improve student learning outcomes using the Predict, Observe, and Explant (POE) learning model. The population in this study was 192 students, consisting of four classes, and the sample taken was one class from Kartika I-4 Private High School, Pematangsiantar. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling, with a sample of 48 students. The instruments used to observe the development of high school biology teaching materials were assessment sheets filled out by observers for student assessment and expert validation in the subject of the human sensory system. The instruments used to assess the level of improvement in student learning outcomes were a pretest and posttest in the form of 20 multiple-choice questions, divided into two sessions, each with 10 questions. Data analysis was performed by calculating the average pretest and posttest scores for each session and calculating the observation scores for student assessment and expert validation. The results of this study obtained student learning outcomes and teaching materials that can be implemented at Kartika I-4 Private High School, Pematangsiantar.

Abstract

The world of education deserves serious attention regarding children's character. Recent problems in our country are inextricably linked to character issues. According to Law No. 20 of 2003 concerning education, it is a conscious and planned effort in the development and learning process for individuals to grow and develop into independent, responsible, creative, knowledgeable, healthy, and virtuous individuals. This research method can also be considered a problem-solving strategy. This stage provides an overview of how a research problem can be described and answers found. The type of research used in this study is descriptive, which attempts to describe the research object in depth based on the facts as they appear. This study uses a qualitative approach to obtain an overview of the objectives. The study, entitled "The Role of Science Teachers in Building Student Character," demonstrates that teachers' roles in character formation are carried out through questioning skills, the use of media and learning aids, and the closing of learning skills. The teacher's role is crucial in shaping students' character in participating in learning activities. Students' interest and enjoyment in participating in learning activities are also important.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of animated video learning media on student learning outcomes in global warming at Muhammadiyah-21 Dolok Batu Nanggar Private Junior High School. This study used a quantitative approach with a true experimental research method, where independent and dependent variables were tested on samples from the experimental and control groups. This study used a Pre-test Post-test Control Group Design. The total population of 124 seventh-grade students was 124, and 62 students were sampled using cluster random sampling. They were divided into two classes: one control class (VII-C) with 31 students and one experimental class (VII-D) with 31 students. Data analysis techniques used were normality tests, homogeneity tests, simple linear regression tests, mean values, standard deviations, and hypothesis testing. The results of the study showed that the normality test for the control class was 0.351 and the experimental class was 0.708. The homogeneity test showed a significance value of 0.0357. The simple linear regression test for the control class yielded a constant value of 43.066, with a correlation coefficient of 0.118, and for the experimental class a constant value of 39.939, with a correlation coefficient of 0.082. The average posttest score for the control class was 67.10, while for the experimental class it was 93.06. The standard deviation for the control class was 7.613, and for the experimental class it was 5.428. In this research hypothesis test, if t count > t table at a significance level of α = 0.05 and degrees of freedom (df) = 30, then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The hypothesis test calculation yielded t count of 16.263 > t table of 1.69726. Based on the research results and data analysis, there is a significant difference and improvement in student learning outcomes using animated video learning media on global warming in seventh-grade students at Muhammadiyah-21 Private Junior High School, Dolok Batu Nanggar.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning motivation in Basic Culinary Arts by implementing Card Sort Media in class VII-2 at YPK Private Junior High School, Pematang Siantar. This study was quantitative with a Classroom Action Research design. The subjects were 30 students in class VII-2. The research design used was a classroom action research model, which used a cycle. Each cycle in the study included four components/stages: planning, implementation/action, observation, and reflection. The data collection instruments used were test questions to measure material mastery, teacher and student observation guides, and a motivational questionnaire to measure motivation to learn about Environmental Pollution. The data analysis technique used was quantitative analysis. The results showed that the application of card sort media can improve motivation to learn about Environmental Pollution. This is evidenced by the increase in student learning motivation in science, which initially fell into the moderate category, with an average motivation level of 55.93. After implementing card sorting in Cycle I, the average learning motivation score for Environmental Pollution reached 68.20, which is considered quite good. After improvements were made when each indicator was inserted into each step of the learning process, the average learning motivation score for Environmental Pollution in Cycle II reached 76.73, which is considered good. Furthermore, the results of the Environmental Pollution mastery test, which initially fell into the poor category, reached an average of 45.00. After interventions in Cycle I, the results of the material mastery test increased to an average of 70.16, which is considered quite good. Teacher improvements were made in the next stage to increase the average score obtained by students, resulting in a Cycle II material mastery test result of 83.16, which is considered very good.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Think Talk Write learning model on the excretory system on student learning outcomes for SMP Bina Guna Tanah Jawa. The Think Talk Write learning model is intended to improve learning outcomes and facilitate student understanding of the excretory system. This study is a quasi-experimental study. The population was all 66 eighth-grade students. Subjects were randomly selected, with class VIII 1, consisting of 32 students, serving as the control class, and class VIII 2, consisting of 34 students, serving as the experimental class. Data collection consisted of a pretest and posttest. The results showed that the Think Talk Walk learning model significantly impacted science learning outcomes in the excretory system. The difference in science learning outcomes between students participating in the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model and those participating in conventional learning (t = 10.973 > t = 1.69) suggests that the Think Talk Write learning model has a positive effect on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a science learning module for seventh-grade students. This learning module aims to improve student learning outcomes and understanding of environmental pollution. This research is a type of research and development or Research and Development (R&D) with reference to Sugiyono's opinion. The product developed based on the initial research is a science learning module for seventh grade students containing environmental pollution material in the form of understanding, causes, types, impacts and efforts to overcome environmental pollution. The trial subjects in this research and development are media experts/lecturers, science teachers and seventh grade students of MTs Swasta Perguruan Guppi Pematang Siantar as potential product users. The sampling used in conducting this research is purposive sampling because the education system implemented at MTs Swasta Perguruan Guppi Pematang Siantar is a block system. Data collection techniques are carried out by interviews, questionnaires and tests. Interviews are used to obtain the required information, questionnaires are used to obtain the required information and student responses regarding the developed module and tests are used to determine the improvement in learning outcomes and student understanding of environmental pollution material. Data are analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of the study show that the science learning module trial for seventh grade MTs students is included in the good category. After revision, the science learning module trial results are included in the good category. Thus, the learning module This developed science module for seventh-grade MTs students is suitable for use by students.

Abstract

The development of Animaker-based animation media in Biology learning for grade XI of Yayasan Perguruan Keluarga Private High School is motivated by the lack of varied learning media, low effectiveness of media use, and inactive, lack of enthusiasm, and lack of student enthusiasm in learning. The research problem in this thesis is how to design Animaker-based animation media in Biology learning and how effective Animaker-based animation media is in Biology learning for grade XI of Yayasan Perguruan Keluarga Private High School. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the Borg & Gall model. The subjects in this study were grade XI students of Yayasan Perguruan Keluarga Private High School, Pematangsiantar. Data collection techniques used expert validation sheets, validation, questionnaires, and observation. Then the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The research results show that Animaker based animation media was designed by: (1) identifying needs, (2) formulating basic competencies, (3) designing the media, (4) conducting validation and trials, with an average validation percentage obtained from material experts with an average percentage score of 93.84% in the Very Feasible category. Meanwhile, from media experts, an average percentage score of 95.29% was obtained in the Very Feasible category. Small-scale field trials obtained an average percentage score of 96.66% in the Very Feasible category. Large-scale field trials obtained an average percentage score of 85.77% in the Very Feasible category. (5) conducting media revisions. The effectiveness of Animaker-based animation media in social studies learning, with a percentage score of 100%, is categorized as very effective learning. This indicates that the Animaker-based animation media that has been developed can be used in the Pematangsiantar Family Education Foundation Private High School.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the inquiry learning model using animation media on problem-solving abilities in the excretory system material of class VIII MTs Swasta Al Washliyah Serbelawan. The population in this study was all class VIII consisting of 3 classes with a total of 87 students. Sampling was done by Cluster Random Sampling. This research instrument was used to see problem-solving abilities in the excretory system material using tests and questionnaires. From the results of the t (1) test data analysis, t count (5.213) ≥ t table (2.005) at a significant level of α = 0.05 with degrees of freedom dk = 28 + 28-2 = 54, then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that problem-solving abilities have a significant influence if learning is carried out using the inquiry learning model. Meanwhile, the results of the t-test data analysis (2) obtained t count (5.942) ≥ t table (2.005) so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that problem-solving ability has a significant influence if learning is carried out using the inquiry learning model with animation media. Furthermore, the results of the F-test data analysis obtained F count is greater than F table, namely F count (5.072) > F table (3.172), so it can be concluded that the hypothesis H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning there is an effect of the inquiry learning model using animation media on problem-solving ability in the human excretory system material for class VIII MTs Swasta Al Washliyah Serbelawan.
