Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning Model with Metacognitive Strategies on Critical Thinking Skills and Student Learning Outcomes. This study is a quantitative study. The study population consisted of 120 students consisting of 4 classes. Sampling was carried out by Cluster Random Sampling, namely class VIII-A using Problem-Based Learning with Metacognitive Strategies and VIII-B using the lecture method with 30 students in each class. The research instrument used tests and questionnaires. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using the t-test, as obtained thitung 6.836 > ttabel (1.701) at a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. Based on this, it can be concluded that the Sig. value < 0.05 and thitung value > ttabel, which means H_0 is rejected and 〖H〗_a is accepted. Thus, there is a significant influence between the grades in the experimental class and the grades in the control class. Based on the results of the hypothesis testing using the F-test, the calculated F value is greater than the F-table (9.709 > 4.004) and the sig. value is less than 0.05 (0.003 < 0.05). Thus, Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected, indicating a significant effect of using the Problem-Based Learning model with metacognitive strategies on critical thinking. The study concluded that using the Problem-Based Learning model has an impact on critical thinking skills and learning outcome students of Prama Artha Private Middle School in the 2021/2022 academic year.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the completeness of learning facilities on the science learning outcomes of seventh-grade students of SMP N. 10 Pematangsiantar in the 2021/2022 academic year. The population in this study was 224 students and a sample of 35 students. The sampling technique used was random sampling, taking 15% from classes VII-1 to VII-7. The variables in this study were independent variables and dependent variables. In this study, the independent variable (X) was the completeness of learning facilities and the dependent variable (Y) was the science learning outcomes of seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 10 Pematangsiantar. The analysis techniques used were validity and reliability tests, correlation tests, and hypotheses were proven using the t-test at a significance level of α = 0.05. The average score of students' science learning outcomes was 80.2, which is a high average learning outcome. The average score of the questionnaire on the completeness of science learning facilities for grade VII students of SMP N.10 Pematangsiantar was 73.43, which is a fairly high average. From the results of the correlation test, the correlation between the completeness of learning facilities and the science learning outcomes of grade VII students of SMP N.10 Pematangsiantar in the 2021/2022 academic year was obtained r = 0.81. Based on the qualification of the correlation coefficient, the correlation between the two variables above is a very high correlation. From the results of the hypothesis testing/with the t-test, the t-count = 8.03 was obtained and at a significance level of ∝ = 0.05 and dk = 33, the t-table = 2.034 was obtained. So the t-count is greater than the t-table, so in this case Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means that there is a real influence between the completeness of learning facilities on the science learning outcomes of grade VII students of SMP N.10 Pematangsiantar. Based on the results of the determination test, the contribution of the completeness of learning facilities to the science learning outcomes of seventh-grade students at SMP N 10 Pematangsiantar was 65.61%. This means that students' science learning outcomes are influenced by the completeness of learning facilities. It was concluded that there is a significant influence between the completeness of learning facilities and the science learning outcomes of seventh-grade students at SMP N 10 Pematangsiantar in the 2021/2022 academic year.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of audiovisual media use on science learning outcomes in the subject of Excretion for eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 13 Pematangsiantar. The population in this study were 60 eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 13 Pematangsiantar in the 2021/2022 academic year. The research sample was selected using cluster random sampling: class VIII A (Experimental Class) using audiovisual media and class VIII B (Control Class) using conventional methods. The instrument used in this study was a multiple-choice test consisting of 20 questions. Furthermore, the data obtained were analyzed to find the mean, median, mode, standard deviation, normality test, reliability, validity, and t-test. The data obtained were then analyzed using a t-test using SPSS 21. The results of this study indicate a significant effect between the use of audio-visual media on learning outcomes, with a probability value of 0.000 <α = 0.05, with a t-count of 7.688 > t-table of 1.699. Therefore, H_a is accepted and H_0 is rejected, meaning that the use of audio-visual media has an effect on the science learning outcomes of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 13 Pematangsiantar in the 2021/2022 academic year.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Project-Based Learning model on students' problem solving and critical thinking skills. The population in this study were eighth-grade students of Yayasan Perguruan Keluarga Private Junior High School, Pematangsiantar, in the 2021/2022 academic year. The sample consisted of four classes totaling 118 students. Cluster random sampling was used to select class VIII-3 (30 students) as the control class and VIII-1 (30 students) as the experimental class. The instrument used in this study was a test. The data were analyzed to determine the mean, median, mode, standard deviation, linearity test, normality test, homogeneity test, regression test, t-test, and f-test. Data analysis using ANOVA with a significance level of 5% (α = 0.05) using SPSS 21 software revealed an effect of Project-Based Learning on problem-solving skills. The calculated F-value was greater than the F-table (8.184 > 4.004) and the significance value was less than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). The hypothesis testing on students' critical thinking skills showed an F-value greater than the F-table (19.208 > 4.004) and the significance value was less than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). Therefore, Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. This indicates that the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model has an effect on students' problem-solving and critical thinking skills on the human excretory system topic in eighth-grade students at Yayasan Perguruan Keluarga Pematangsiantar Private Junior High School in the 2021/2022 academic year.

This study aims to examine the effect of using the Quizizz application in online learning on student interest and learning outcomes in junior high schools. This study is a quantitative study. The study population consisted of 66 students consisting of two classes. Sampling was carried out by total sampling, namely class VII-A and class VII-B. The number of students in each class was 33. The research instrument used was a test and questionnaire. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using the t-test, as obtained thitung 6.836 > ttabel (1.701) at a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. Based on this, it can be concluded that the Sig. value < 0.05 and thitung value > ttabel, which means H_0 is rejected and 〖H〗_a is accepted. Thus, there is a significant influence between the scores in the experimental class and the scores in the control class. Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in student learning outcomes and the magnitude of  the differences in student learning outcomes using the Talking Stick and Snowball Throwing learning models on the excretory system in class VIII of Bina Guna Tanah Jawa Private Junior High School in the 2021/2022 academic year. This study is a quasi-experimental study with different treatments given to each class. The research sample was taken using a saturated sampling technique (census) consisting of two classes: class VIII-1 was designated as experimental class 1 using the Talking Stick learning model, with 32 students, while class VIII-2 was designated as experimental class 2 using the Snowball Throwing learning model, with 32 students, resulting in a total sample of 64 students. Data analysis was carried out by finding the mean (X̅ ), standard deviation (S), and hypothesis testing (t-test) at a significance level of α = 0.05. The research results obtained an average post-test score of 86.56 for experimental class 1 and 85.93 for experimental class 2, with a difference in learning outcomes of 0.63. The results of the hypothesis testing (t-test) obtained thitung (1.708) > ttabel (1.669) at a significance level of α = 0.05 and degrees of freedom (dk) = 32. Therefore, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning there is a difference in student learning outcomes using the Talking Stick and Snowball Throwing learning models on the excretory system topic for class VIII at Bina Guna Tanah Jawa Private Junior High School in the 2021/2022 Academic Year. It was concluded that there is a difference in student learning outcomes using the Talking Stick and Snowball Throwing learning models on the excretory system topic in class VIII at Bina Guna Tanah Jawa Private Junior High School in the 2021/2022 Academic Year.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in student learning outcomes and the magnitude of the differences in student learning outcomes using the problem-based learning model and conventional methods on the human respiratory system material in grade XI of SMA Swasta Kartika I-4 Pematangsiantar in the 2021/2022 academic year. The population was 193 students consisting of 4 classes and the sample was taken using cluster random sampling to obtain 2 classes: the experimental class (XI mia 1) with 48 students and the control class (XI mia 3) with 48 students. The experimental class was treated using the problem-based learning model and the control class was treated using the conventional method. Data analysis was carried out by finding the average (X̅ ), standard deviation (S) and hypothesis testing (t-test) at a significance level of α = 0.05. From the results of the study, the average post-test score for the experimental class was 83.02 and the control class was 80.10 with a difference in learning outcomes of 2.29. From the results of the hypothesis testing (t-test), the calculated t (2.721 > t table (1.985) was obtained at a significance level of α = 0.05 and degrees of freedom (df) = 94, so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning there is a difference in student learning outcomes using the problem-based learning model and the conventional method on the human respiratory system material in grade XI of SMA Swasta Kartika I-4 Pematangsiantar in the 2021/2022 academic year. It was concluded that there is a difference in student learning outcomes using the problem-based learning model and the conventional method on the human respiratory system material in grade XI of SMA Swasta Kartika I-4 Pematangsiantar in the 2021/2022 academic year.

Abstract

The invasion of alien plants such as Bellucia pentamera can reduce biodiversity in the conservation forest area. Analysis of undergrowth vegetation in the area invaded by invasive alien plants Bellucia pentamera Naudin in the Conservation Area of PT. TKA Solok Selatan in MarchAugust 2020. This study aims to determine the composition and structure of undersgrowth vegetation in areas invaded by invasive alien plants Bellucia pentamera and to see the effect of distance from the road on the distribution of Bellucia pentamera tillers. The method used in this research is the quadratic method with belt transects of 2 x100 meters from the edge of the forest to the forest. The composition of understorey in the Conservation Area of PT. TKA were found as many as 48 species from 32 families. The distance from the highway affects the light intensity and also affects the distribution of the number of B. pentamera seedling individuals. The highest important value index of undergrowth was Shorea leprosula, Bellucia pentamera, and Clidemia hirta with a value of 40.51%; 29.20%; 19.43% while the diversity index (H ') of undergrowth with a value of 3.0 means that the diversity index is classified as medium.

Abstract

This study aims to determine differences in student learning outcomes using the Numbered Heads Together learning model. This research is an experimental study with a pre-test, post-test design. The population was 203 students, and the sample size was 80 students (Cluster Random Sampling). Class VII-2 served as the experimental class, and class VII-4 as the control class. Data analysis was conducted by calculating the average score and standard deviation, and hypotheses were tested using the t-statistic or t-test at a significance level of α = 0.05. The average pre-test score for the experimental class was 44.25, and the average post-test score for the experimental class was 78.37. The average pre-test score for the control class was 38.50, and the average post-test score for the control class was 65.25. This indicates an improvement in the topic of interdependence in ecosystems in class VII of MTs Negeri Tanah Jawa in the 2014/2015 academic year, with a score of 34.12. The results of the hypothesis test using the t-test obtained a calculated t (7.68) > t table (2.00), therefore H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning there is a difference in student learning outcomes using the Numbered Heads Together learning model on interdependence in ecosystems in grade VII MTs Negeri Tanah Jawa in the 2014/2015 academic year. It was concluded that there is a significant difference in learning outcomes using the Numbered Heads Together learning model on interdependence in ecosystems in grade VII MTs Negeri Tanah Jawa in the 2014/2015 academic year.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine efforts to improve student learning outcomes in the biotic component topic through the application of Quantum Learning to seventh-grade students at SMP Swasta Advent 2 Pematangsiantar in the 2014/2015 academic year. The study was conducted from May 19-30, 2015, with a sample size of 16 seventh-grade students. The learning process consisted of cycles I and II, involving teaching and evaluation. Data analysis techniques used included calculating class averages, learning completion levels, and classical regression. Based on the results, it can be concluded that learning outcomes in cycle I were 18.75% below the Minimum Competency (KKM). This was followed by cycle II, where 93.75% achieved the KKM.
