Abstract

The dance work “Balago”, inspired by the Parang pisang tradition, is one of the cultural heritages of the Minangkabau people found in Batang Kapas Subdistrict, Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra. This tradition is carried out specifically to welcome the birth of male and female twins, with the purpose of preventing any feelings of affection or romantic love between them as they grow older. The Parang Pisang procession involves two families, namely the Induak Bako family and the family of the twins, through a series of stages such as deliberation, preparation of boiled bananas, a procession featuring si muntu and kudo upie properties, verbal debate, and culminates in a banana war followed by reconciliation and joint prayers. This tradition showcases the uniqueness of local culture through the activity of throwing bananas at each other, which reflects customary communication, togetherness, conflict, and peaceful conflict resolution. Parang Pisang strongly proves that the Minangkabau community possesses cultural traditions rich in meaning, which are still preserved and practiced from generation to generation until today.

Abstract

This fashion work is based on the development of fashion that increasingly emphasizes freedom of expression and the exploration of form in design. The Art of beatstyle was chosen as the source of inspiration due to its eccentric, creative, and unconventional visual characteristics. The purpose of this creation is to produce fashion designs that represent freedom of expression through the application of fabric manipulation techniques, particularly the cut-out technique, combined with Sashiko as a decorative element. The creation process consists of several stages, including idea exploration, design development, technical experimentation, pattern making, production, and presentation. Visual inspiration is realized through organic forms applied to the cut-out technique, creating the interplay of space, texture, and visual dimensions within the garments. The Sashiko technique is utilized to enrich surface details and enhance the aesthetic value of the designs. The final collection consists of three fashion categories: Ready-to-Wear entitled “Ruang Celah” (The Space of Gaps), Ready-to-Wear Deluxe entitled “Ruang Tumbuh” (The Growing Space), and Haute Couture entitled “Ruang Antara” (The Space Between). These three works embody the characteristics of Art of beatthrough the use of contrasting colors, organic forms, and increasingly complex cut-out explorations in each category. The collection demonstrates that the cut-out technique functions not only as a decorative element but also as a means of creating an expressive, dynamic, and artistic visual identity in fashion design.

Abstract

This work, titled "Art of Beat Style with Fabric Thread Collage," is inspired by the freedom of contemporary visuals manifested in eccentric, artistic, and antimainstream fashion concepts. The garments are designed with dynamic asymmetrical cuts to challenge mainstream mass trends. The Art of Beat concept is visualized on the fabric surface through rich textural plays and striking, contrasting color combinations. The creator integrates Batik Truntum from Surakarta to elevate local elements and the deep philosophical meanings of tradition combined  into contemporary fashion. The color palette selection employs bold and clashing hues, namely red, yellow, pink, blue, and turquoise. The materials used in this collection include woolpeach, toyobo, texas, drill, organza, tulle, woolen threads, and Batik Truntum as the combination fabric. The creation method begins with the preparation (exploration) stage, which involves field surveys through visual observations of international designers' fashion show videos, literature reviews to gather relevant theoretical foundations, and formulating visual design ideas through moodboard compilation. The primary techniques utilized in this work are fabric thread collage (fabric surface manipulation using free-motion stitching), double-edged ruffle technique, flounce technique, and pearl bead embellishments. The final realized collection consists of three tiers of fashion lines: ready-to-wear titled (The Beat Play), ready-to-wear deluxe, and haute couture.

Abstract

The creation of this work was inspired by the beauty of the swan's form, which possesses distinctive visual characteristics such as a long curved neck, layered feathers, and graceful movements. These characteristics were used as the main source of inspiration in designing contemporary fashion through the application of embroidery techniques as the primary decorative element. The objectives of this project were to design, realize, and present a contemporary fashion collection inspired by the form of a swan. The creation method consisted of three stages: exploration, design, and realization. The exploration stage was conducted through direct observation of swans and literature studies related to the topic. The design stage included trend analysis, moodboard development, alternative sketch creation, and design selection. The realization stage involved the process of garment construction by applying embroidery and beadwork techniques. The materials used included satin bridal fabric, Angso Duo batik fabric, organza, and other supporting materials. The final works consisted of three fashion categories: Ready-to-Wear, Ready-to-Wear Deluxe, and Haute Couture. The characteristics of the swan were represented through embroidered motifs, wing- and feather-inspired garment details, and the use of earth-tone colors such as dark brown, mocha, and cream. The resulting collection combines traditional and modern elements, creating contemporary fashion pieces that are unique, aesthetically appealing, and possess strong artistic value.

Abstract

This work, entitled “Ludo in Art of Beat Style,” is inspired by the game of Ludo as a source of ideas for fashion creation based on the Art of Beat style. Ludo was chosen because of its strong visual characteristics, including geometric shapes, symmetrical patterns, and contrasting primary colors, namely red, yellow, green, and blue. These characteristics were developed into expressive, creative, and artistic fashion designs in accordance with the Art of Beat Style concept, which emphasizes freedom of expression, uniqueness, and an anti-mainstream character. The creation method consisted of several stages, namely exploration, design, and realization. The exploration stage involved observing the Ludo game and Art of Beat fashion style. The design stage included the creation of a moodboard, alternative sketches, and selected designs, while the realization stage involved the construction of garments through the application of fabric appliqué techniques, material selection, and the implementation of design elements and principles. The results of this creation consist of three fashion levels: Ready-to-Wear, Ready-to-Wear Deluxe, and Haute Couture. Each work presents the visual characteristics of Ludo combined with the Art of Beat style, resulting in unique and dynamic garments with high aesthetic value.

Abstract

This work, titled "Modest Wear with Elements of the Siak Malay Wedding Dais Canopy," draws inspiration from the decorative canopy panels—characterized by tongue-like shapes—found on the ceilings of Siak Malay wedding daises. These forms have been adapted into modest wear designs across three categories: ready-to-wear, ready-to-wear deluxe, and haute couture. The creation process incorporates Songket Siak—a traditional woven fabric—featuring the bunga tanjung (tanjung flower) motif, a signature design from Riau. The color palette reflects the traditional Siak Malay wedding dais—red, yellow, and green—while details such as tekat embroidery featuring the pucuk pakis (fern shoot) motif—another Riau signature—are applied to the garments. Materials utilized include bridal satin, Kawasaki silk, pleated satin, and Songket Siak. The creative process involved observation, interviews, and reference gathering related to the concept, alongside a literature review concerning modest fashion and Siak Malay wedding daises. The designs incorporate 2025 trend forecasts for contemporary modest fashion, emphasizing simple, minimalist, and loose-fitting silhouettes. The resulting collection comprises three tiers: ready-to-wear (Suji Seloka), ready-to-wear deluxe (Suji Danendra), and haute couture (Suji Singgasana). These garments were showcased at the "Malenggang #4" event—themed "Fashion Fusion"—held at the Hoeridjah Adam Performance Hall gallery at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Padangpanjang on June 2, 2026.

Abstract

Aspect-based sentiment analysis is becoming increasingly important for understanding user opinions across various digital platforms; however, differences in text characteristics such as length, formality, and writing style often affect algorithm performance. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a hybrid model that integrates Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) with three classification algorithms Multinomial Naïve Bayes, XGBoost, and AdaBoost across three different platforms: Twitter, Google Play, and Female Daily. The evaluation was conducted using the Precision, Recall, F1-Score, and Accuracy metrics, with F1-Score serving as the primary indicator due to the imbalanced data distribution across aspects. The results show that Multinomial Naïve Bayes is more suitable for short and emotional texts on Twitter, XGBoost excels at technical reviews on Google Play, while AdaBoost is quite adaptive to narrative reviews on Female Daily. Key findings confirm that XGBoost is the most stable algorithm with the highest average F1-Score, while Multinomial Naïve Bayes remains competitive for informal text. This study contributes to the development of aspect-based sentiment analysis methodologies by providing practical guidelines for algorithm selection based on platform characteristics, and opens avenues for further research through dataset expansion, microtext normalization, and the application of deep learning to improve generalization

Abstract

This study examines how perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and social influence affect the actual use of the QRIS Tap payment system on MRT Jakarta, with attitude toward using positioned as a mediating variable. An online survey was distributed to 162 respondents who had experience using QRIS Tap on MRT Jakarta, and the data were processed through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the assistance of SmartPLS 4. The measurement model confirmed that every indicator met the required validity and reliability thresholds. The structural model showed that perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and social influence each had a positive and significant effect on attitude toward using, which in turn significantly influenced actual use. Mediation testing further confirmed that attitude toward using partially mediates the relationship between the three exogenous variables and actual use. These findings indicate that strengthening users' attitude is essential for sustaining the adoption of tap-based digital payment in public transportation, and the results provide practical input for MRT Jakarta and payment system providers in refining QRIS Tap services.

Abstract

Fashion is a form of visual non-verbal communication that conveys meaning regarding the wearer's identity, emotion, and ideological values. This meaning is constructed not only through silhouettes but also through material processing using textile manipulation techniques. The creation of this work aims to develop a clothing collection themed around resistance by exploring distressed manipulation techniques. This design concept shifts the psychological analogy of psychological distress, such as slashing, burning, puncturing, and other destructive acts, into a controlled creative process to express a rebellious attitude. As a conceptual balance as well as a preservation of cultural roots, this design integrates Silungkang songket with the bunga pecah lapan motif. The creation method of this work progresses through the stages of idea exploration, design planning, and final artwork execution. The ultimate result of this design consists of three collections: a ready-to-wear collection titled "Muted Scars", a ready-to-wear deluxe collection titled "Unbound Rage", and a haute couture collection titled "The Final Escape". All these works utilize various techniques, including slashing, fraying, patchwork, and burning, complemented by safety pin and chain accents. The visual character is reinforced by the dominance of black, gray, and red, which reflect emotional transition and bravery.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of the restorative justice approach in resolving criminal cases at the police investigation stage, as well as the obstacles encountered during its implementation. The research employs a normative legal research method utilizing both the statute approach and the conceptual approach. The findings indicate that the application of restorative justice at the investigation stage is regulated by Indonesian National Police Regulation (Perpol) Number 8 of 2021. This approach shifts the resolution of criminal cases away from formal judicial proceedings toward deliberation among the perpetrator, the victim, and their families to reach a peace agreement focused on restoring the victim's rights. However, implementation faces challenges such as limited public understanding, the potential for abuse by unscrupulous individuals, and restrictions regarding the types of criminal offenses eligible for resolution through this mechanism.
