Abstract

The objective of this observation is to explore the connection between Hyponymy as a semantic feature and the movie entitled Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2. As a part of Semantics, a hyponym is a particular word that represents a general term, referred to as a hypernym. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, which involved analyzing the movie transcript to categorize words as hypernyms and hyponyms. Data had been gathered primarily based on the association with hyponyms concerning semantics analysis. The hyponyms are discovered in a total of 40 hyponyms in this observation. There are nine general terms: (1). 18 names, (2). 4 clans, (3). 1 ethnic, (4). 5 families, (5). 1 country, (6). 4 cities, (7). 1 animal, (8). 4 parts of the body, (9). 3 supernatural creatures.

Abstract

This research examines sentence utterance and presupposition, as represented in Amy Tan's short story "Two Kinds" (1989). Sentences are grammatically complete and are abstract. Utterance is the real embodiment of sentences. The presupposition is the assumption of hidden meaning. This research aims to understand how language structure, usage in real context, and implicit meaning interact in the communication process. The research method employed is a descriptive qualitative analysis of semantics. The results of this study indicate that the distinction between sentences and utterances is significant in analyzing semantic meaning. At the same time, presupposition can also reveal the point of view or language communication strategy. The theory used is from George Yule (1996) and Charles W. Kreidler (1998)

Abstract

Penegakan hukum lingkungan di Indonesia menghadapi kompleksitas permasalahan yang kian beragam, menuntut adanya mekanisme hukum yang adaptif. Artikel ini mengkaji gugatan citizen lawsuit sebagai instrumen hukum yang efektif untuk menuntut pertanggungjawaban pemerintah atas kelalaiannya dalam melindungi dan mengelola lingkungan hidup. Meskipun belum diatur secara eksplisit dalam peraturan perundang-undangan nasional, praktik citizen lawsuit telah diakui dan diterapkan melalui yurisprudensi di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan yuridis normatif dengan mengkaji norma dan asas hukum terkait, serta menganalisis efektivitas citizen lawsuit dalam kerangka penegakan hukum lingkungan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsep kelalaian pemerintah (by omission) dapat menjadi dasar kuat gugatan citizen lawsuit, karena abainya negara dalam memenuhi hak konstitusional warga negara atas lingkungan yang baik dan sehat (Pasal 28H Ayat 1 UUD 1945) termasuk dalam kategori perbuatan melawan hukum. Mekanisme citizen lawsuit dianggap mampu mengintegrasikan upaya penegakan hukum preventif melalui tuntutan pembentukan regulasi baru, sekaligus represif dengan memaksa pemerintah untuk bertindak. Untuk meningkatkan efektivitasnya, penulis merekomendasikan agar citizen lawsuit tidak hanya melekat pada individu, tetapi juga dapat diajukan oleh organisasi lingkungan hidup sebagai representasi kepentingan publik dan pelestarian lingkungan. Implementasi citizen lawsuit secara optimal diharapkan dapat mendorong akuntabilitas pemerintah dan memastikan terwujudnya perlindungan lingkungan yang berkelanjutan di Indonesia.

Abstract

This article examines how sentence structure, utterance, and presupposition contribute to the meaning of "The Romance of a Busy Broker" within a structure of semantic theory. Each semantics theory in this article derived the contextual story, characters emotion and what behind narrative told, all of those things would elaborate as simple and unique cover for making the readers understood about many things was discussed through the entire content of the article. The aims was concentrated through this research point is all about finding exactly extrinsic relevance between the topics was talked and the data which the research was found. The article offers a qualitative method that involves arranged a data list, organized it properly and all the data was analyzed, included insights from several linguistic philosophers. The result of data finding was dragged to diversified the subject of sentence, utterance and presupposition between the author’s key ideas and philosophers belief in linguistic conceptual. The author analytical about this story based on what famous person in linguistic said, and also modified each type of analysis using correct sciencetific article guided. In spite of that, the final discussion was found with qualitative methods depends on Cresswell’s argument and completed it with another author’s ideas.

Abstract

This article discusses ecofeminist critique of the problems that occur in the food estate program under the leadership of Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, with a focus on how patriarchal and capitalist systems are related to exploiting nature and women. Referring to sources from feminist writers such as Vandana Shiva, Maria Mies, and Zillah Eisenstein, this article argues that the food estate program, which has the potential to cause displacement of indigenous peoples, neglect of local community voices, and threaten local food culture, is closely related to the oppression of women. Through a qualitative approach and critical and textual analysis, this article shows how women as agents of change in environmental issues are often discredited and even impacted by the food estate program. By connecting the narratives of environmental destruction and women's oppression, this study provides alternative solutions for food estate programs, including: local community involvement, regenerative agriculture, and agroecology.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pendapatan pada usaha pengolahan kopi bubuk robusta di UMKM Air Lanang Coffee, Kabupaten Rejang Lebong. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan analisis deskriptif. Data diperoleh melalui teknik purposive sampling, dengan responden utama yaitu pemilik UMKM yang dianggap memahami secara menyeluruh proses produksi dan keuangan usahanya. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan kuesioner, serta didukung data sekunder dari berbagai sumber relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa total biaya produksi selama satu bulan mencapai Rp82.605.355, yang terdiri atas biaya tetap dan biaya variabel. Sementara itu, total penerimaan usaha mencapai Rp94.615.000, sehingga diperoleh pendapatan bersih sebesar Rp12.009.645. Analisis Revenue-Cost Ratio (R/C) menunjukkan nilai sebesar 1,14 yang berarti usaha ini layak dan menguntungkan, karena setiap Rp1 biaya produksi menghasilkan Rp1,14 penerimaan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan biaya dan produksi yang efisien dapat meningkatkan profitabilitas dan kelayakan usaha pengolahan kopi bubuk skala mikro. Penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi referensi bagi pelaku UMKM serupa dalam mengambil keputusan usaha berbasis analisis keuangan yang rasional.

Abstract

This study describes the existence of code-mixing in comments on Hyundai Motors Indonesia's Instagram posts. Code-mixing between Indonesian and English now commonly found among social media users. This study aims to analyze the form and function of code-mixing in the comments section of the All New Hyundai Palisade teaser video reels post on Hyundai Motors Indonesia's Instagram account. Data was collected from comments published from May 30 to June 1, 2025. The results of the study show that the form of code-mixing used generally involves the insertion of English words or phrases into Indonesian sentences. The use of code-mixing is influenced by various factors such as age, educational background, foreign language proficiency, and the context of the content displayed by the Hyundai Motors Indonesia account. The functions of code-mixing found in the comments include emphasizing meaning, clarifying information, expressing emotions, and creating a modern impression.

Abstract

This study explores the use of satire as a form of social critique in Jonathan Swift’s A Modest Proposal (1729), a canonical satirical essay that responds to the severe poverty and political oppression in 18th-century Ireland. The research adopts a descriptive qualitative method with M.H. Abrams’ theory of satire as the analytical framework, focusing on four key elements: parody, irony, allegory, and humor. Through close reading and contextual analysis, the study reveals how Swift weaponizes rhetorical strategies to expose the moral failures of British colonial rule, the economic exploitation of the Irish poor, and the inhumanity of utilitarian logic. Findings show that Swift employs layered irony and grotesque parody to mimic policy discourse, turning bureaucratic language into a tool of condemnation. Allegorical expressions and dark humor further intensify the satirical impact, forcing readers to confront the ethical absurdity of commodifying human lives. The study concludes that Swift’s satire is not merely literary art, but a powerful moral act of resistance that remains relevant to contemporary critiques of injustice, inequality, and systemic indifference.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the character development of the main protagonist, Suzuko, in the film One Million Yen Girl directed by Yuki Tanada. The focus of the research is on how Suzuko's character is constructed and evolves through key scenes and dialogues that reflect her personal struggle against social stigma and her quest for freedom. The method used is descriptive qualitative, employing purposive sampling to select 15 key scenes that represent Suzuko's character transformation. The data are analyzed in depth to describe the physical, psychological, and social aspects of Suzuko's character as well as her emotional development throughout the film. The results show that Suzuko evolves from a closed and pressured individual into an independent, strong person who gradually opens herself to others. Suzuko’s life journey, full of conflicts and struggles, mirrors a realistic and complex character change. This study contributes to the field of film character analysis and enriches the understanding of social representation in audiovisual art works.

Abstract

Kisah “The Demon and The Sage” dalam Marzuban-nameh merupakan representasi alegoris dari pertarungan abadi antara kebajikan dan keburukan dalam kehidupan manusia. Melalui interaksi antara seorang pertapa suci dan iblis Ox-foot, cerita ini menampilkan berbagai bentuk godaan dan manipulasi yang menjadi tantangan dalam perjalanan spiritual seseorang. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan analisis literatur dan filsafat Islam, artikel ini mengkaji bagaimana kisah ini mencerminkan konsep dualisme moral dan relevansinya dengan jihad an-nafs atau perjuangan melawan hawa nafsu dalam Islam. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kisah ini tidak hanya memiliki nilai estetika sastra, tetapi juga memberikan pelajaran moral yang mendalam tentang pentingnya keteguhan iman dan kewaspadaan terhadap tipu daya duniawi.
