Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between authoritarian parenting and early childhood creativity. Creativity is an important aspect of child development because it plays a role in shaping the ability to think, solve problems, and express ideas freely. However, the process of creativity development is often influenced by parenting styles at home. Authoritarian parenting is known as a parenting style that tends to be rigid, full of control, and demands obedience without providing space for children to express their opinions. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design involving children aged 4–6 years and their parents. Data were obtained through parenting questionnaires and observations of children's creativity. The results showed a negative relationship between authoritarian parenting and creativity. The higher the level of authoritarianism applied, the lower the child's creativity. This finding emphasizes the importance of more open parenting for optimal development of children's creativity.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of authoritative parenting on the independence of children aged 4-5 years. The ex-post facto method was used as the research method, with the population being all parents of TPA Siti Hajar who use authoritative parenting. The sample was determined using a total sampling technique with data collection using a questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using normality tests and simple regression. The results showed that parents use an authoritative parenting style. Respondents always ask their children about their lessons at school (64.08%), listen to their children talk about their school situation (57.00%), and provide encouragement when their children start to be lazy about their homework (66.70%), with a level of independence in the fairly good category, with indicators of self-confidence (65.00%), being able to make their own choices (52.31%), being responsible (50.60%), and being easy to make friends (55.00%). Therefore, the conclusion that can be conveyed is that there is an influence of authoritative parenting on the independence of children aged 4-5 years with a percentage of 46.00%. Abstract

Pancasila, as the foundational ideology of Indonesia, plays a fundamental role in shaping a democratic system and ensuring the protection of human rights based on justice. From Yusril Ihza Mahendra’s perspective, Pancasila is not merely a normative ideology but serves as a political and legal paradigm that integrates the values of divinity, humanity, unity, democracy, and social justice into the practice of governance. According to Yusril, Indonesian democracy cannot be equated with Western liberalism, which emphasizes individual freedom; rather, it is a constitutional democracy grounded in the moral and spiritual foundations of Pancasila. The values of Pancasila position human rights in a balanced relationship between rights and responsibilities, as well as between individual and collective interests of the nation. Thus, democracy and human rights, in Yusril’s view, are integralistic—citizens’ freedoms are directed toward realizing social j  ustice and order in national life. This article aims to examine Yusril Ihza Mahendra’s thoughts on the relationship between Pancasila, democracy, and human rights, and their relevance within the context of Indonesia’s contemporary constitutional system.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between family social support and the discipline of 4-5-year-old children at Pembina State Kindergarten. The study used a quantitative method with a descriptive correlational approach. A sample of 14 parents was selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were obtained through a five-level Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation test. The results showed that children's discipline was in the very high category at 93.5%, while family social support was also in the very high category at 94.9%. However, the correlation test showed an r value of –0.14, indicating a very weak and insignificant relationship between family social support and children's discipline. This finding indicates that, despite high family support, other factors such as role models and school habits likely have a greater influence on the development of children's discipline. This study emphasizes the importance of collaboration between families and educational institutions in supporting the development of discipline in early childhood.

Abstract

The campus is a meeting place for various cultures due to the diverse backgrounds of its students. As a result, social interactions that can foster a sense of togetherness and mutual respect are necessary. This study focuses on the experiences of Papuan students at the State University of Medan (UNIMED), known as the Character Building University, particularly how they adapt and interact in the campus environment. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach involving in-depth interviews and observations to describe how Papuan students adapt, the initial problems they face, such as differences in dialect, communication style, and academic activity dynamics, as well as the elements that help them build good social relationships. The results of the study show that Papuan students are able to establish positive relationships with their environment, even though the initial adaptation process is rather difficult. They increase their confidence and communicate better with others through academic activities such as discussions, group work, and presentations. Overall, the experience of interaction on campus greatly helps Papuan students become more adaptive, inclusive, and in line with UNIMED's character building objectives.

Abstract

This article, titled "Parental Participation and Preventive Measures Against Cigarette Smoke Exposure in Early Childhood," aims to describe the impact of cigarette smoke exposure on the health of early childhood and analyze the role of parents in prevention efforts. This research used a literature review method, compiling data from books, journals, research reports, and related academic sources. The results of the study indicate that cigarette smoke exposure can increase the risk of respiratory disorders, reduce immunity, exacerbate asthma, and trigger various chronic diseases in children. These findings confirm that early childhood is the group most vulnerable to the dangers of cigarette smoke, both from active and passive smoking. Furthermore, the discussion demonstrates the central role of parental participation through smoking cessation, the implementation of smoke-free homes, maintaining a clean environment, and ongoing family education. Various strategies, such as evidence-based education and the use of digital media, are also considered effective in raising parental awareness. Therefore, protecting children from cigarette smoke exposure requires family commitment and the support of a healthy environment.

Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth the relationship between parental support and early childhood learning motivation. The study used a quantitative method with a survey approach involving five sample families with early childhood children in a PAUD environment. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire designed to measure the level of parental support, including emotional, cognitive, and material support, as well as the level of children's learning motivation. The results showed that parental support has a positive and significant relationship with early childhood learning motivation. Emotional support, such as attention, affection, and positive encouragement, helps children feel safe and confident in learning activities. Cognitive support in the form of learning assistance and intellectual stimulation encourages children to be more active and enthusiastic in the learning process. In addition, material support, such as the provision of adequate learning facilities, also contributes to increasing children's interest in learning. Overall, parental support has been shown to increase children's self-confidence, commitment, and enthusiasm for learning. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of active parental involvement in supporting children's learning processes from an early age to achieve optimal and sustainable learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how digitalization of governance, particularly through the implementation of e-financial reporting, digital audit trails, and cloud-based data security and reliability systems, contributes to increased transparency, accountability, and data protection in educational institutions. Using a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews and thematic analysis, this study reveals that digitalization can create a more objective, standardized, and difficult-to-manipulate control mechanism. The e-financial reporting system strengthens transparency through open processes and reduces opportunities for irregularities. Digital audit trails provide authentic evidence that facilitates the process of verification, monitoring, and tracking every administrative activity in real time. Meanwhile, data security supported by layered encryption, automatic backups, and emergency recovery access increases internal and external trust in the integrity of information systems. These findings indicate that digitalization not only provides technical tools but also forms a more disciplined, adaptive, and public accountability-oriented governance structure. This study broadens understanding of the relationship between digital technology and organizational culture and provides a theoretical foundation for developing a more reliable and sustainable information system-based educational governance model.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of parental roles on fulfilling the nutritional needs of children aged 3–4 years at the Asmaul Husna Daycare (TPA) in Gorontalo. The study used a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach and involved 60 parents as respondents. The role of parents was measured through their active involvement as educators, motivators, and facilitators in fulfilling children's nutritional needs. The results showed that 80% of children whose parents played an active role had good nutritional status based on normal weight for age and height for age indicators. Conversely, in the group of less active parents, only 36% of children achieved good nutritional status. The Chi-square test showed a significant relationship between parental roles and children's nutritional status (p < 0.05). The table data shows a clear disparity, with 32 well-nourished children coming from the active role group, while 14 children with poor nutritional status came from the passive role group. These findings emphasize the importance of monitoring dietary patterns, providing nutritious supplies, and collaboration between parents and the TPA in reducing the risk of malnutrition and stunting. Furthermore, parental involvement contributes to improved immunity, cognitive development, and the formation of long-term healthy eating habits. This study recommends holding nutrition workshops for parents as part of a sustainable TPA program.
