Abstract

The background of this study is based on the high number of bullying cases in schools that can have a negative impact on students' psychological and social development. The purpose of this study is to explore various strategies that can be carried out by teachers in an effort to prevent and handle bullying behavior among children and adolescents. The method used is content analysis, which involves data identification and analysis. The sample used was articles published on googlescholar and researcghate ranging from 2015-2024. The results revealed that bullying is a negative behavior that reflects violent and discriminatory actions, which can arise due to differences in social status, lifestyle, and interests between students. The findings highlight the importance of the role of teachers as a key component in the education system to prevent and address bullying behavior in the school environment. Training and workshops for teachers are also needed to prevent and address bullying behavior and also to improve communication skills and appropriate interventions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran hakikat sains atau Nature of Science (NOS) dalam pengembangan literasi sains berdasarkan kajian literatur komprehensif. NOS dipahami sebagai konsep yang menjelaskan sains sebagai cara untuk memperoleh pengetahuan, mencakup nilai-nilai dan asumsi yang melekat dalam pengembangan pengetahuan ilmiah. Melalui metode penelitian kepustakaan, artikel ini mengkaji secara sistematis berbagai sumber primer dan sekunder dari jurnal ilmiah bereputasi, buku referensi, dan dokumen kebijakan pendidikan yang diterbitkan dalam kurun waktu sepuluh tahun terakhir. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman NOS berperan signifikan dalam tiga dimensi pengembangan literasi sains: (1) membangun fondasi epistemologi sains yang kuat pada peserta didik, (2) mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan reflektif dalam menganalisis klaim ilmiah, dan (3) memfasilitasi pemahaman interdisipliner dan kontekstual dalam pembelajaran sains. Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa integrasi NOS dalam pembelajaran sains secara eksplisit dan reflektif dapat meningkatkan kualitas literasi sains peserta didik, khususnya dalam kemampuan mengevaluasi validitas informasi ilmiah dan mengambil keputusan berbasis sains dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya pengembangan kurikulum dan model pembelajaran yang memadukan aspek-aspek NOS secara sistematis untuk memfasilitasi peserta didik memahami tidak hanya konten sains tetapi juga bagaimana pengetahuan ilmiah dikonstruksi dan divalidasi.

Abstract

This study aims to explore high school students’ perceptions of learning supported by artificial intelligence (AI) technology. The research is grounded in the growing integration of AI in post-pandemic education, which has significantly altered students’ learning habits. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining online questionnaires from 30 students and literature review from five academic sources. The findings indicate that over 95% of students regularly use AI, which supports understanding complex materials, enhances task efficiency, and enables personalized learning. AI also boosts learning motivation through fast and interactive feedback. However, several challenges were identified, including dependency risks, reduced social interaction, inaccurate information, and potential plagiarism. Most students do not view AI as a teacher replacement, but rather as a complementary learning tool. This study concludes that AI integration in secondary education offers significant potential to improve learning quality, yet it must be balanced with digital literacy, ethical use, and the active role of teachers as facilitators.

Abstract

The integrative discourse between religious sciences and modern sciences in Islamic education has long been debated, particularly within traditional educational institutions such as pesantren. Muhammad Abduh, as a pioneer of Islamic reform in the 19th century, offered an educational paradigm that combines religious values with scientific rationality. His ideas were a response to the stagnation of Islamic thought caused by the dominance of dogmatic methods that marginalized reason and science. For Abduh, religion and science are not contradictory entities, but rather two main pillars in shaping individuals who are both faithful and intellectually sound. This article aims to examine Abduh’s thought on the integration of religious and scientific knowledge and its relevance to the curriculum of modern pesantren in Indonesia. This study adopts a qualitative approach through library research, using primary sources such as Abduh’s Risalat al-Tauhid and secondary sources discussing Islamic education reform and pesantren transformation. The analysis is conducted using descriptive-analytical methods, focusing on the conceptual relationship between Abduh’s ideas and the current integrated curriculum practices in pesantren. The findings reveal that Abduh’s views on knowledge integration are highly relevant in addressing contemporary educational challenges. He emphasized the importance of reason as a tool to understand both revelation and the natural world. Modern sciences—such as mathematics, natural sciences, logic, and philosophy—are regarded as essential components of Islamic education rather than threats to faith. Abduh rejected the dichotomy of knowledge that separates “worldly sciences” from “religious sciences,” asserting that both are necessary to form holistic human beings. He strongly criticized the traditional educational systems that focused solely on religious instruction and failed to cultivate critical and scientific thinking. Abduh’s educational thought is reflected in the curricula of modern pesantren in Indonesia, which have undergone significant transformations. Institutions like Gontor, Trensains Tebuireng, and Anwarul Huda exemplify the integration of religious subjects with general sciences such as physics, biology, and mathematics. Furthermore, the use of dialogical and analytical teaching methods mirrors Abduh’s spirit of rationalism. Modern pesantren now serve not only as spiritual centers but also as intellectual hubs that prepare students to compete in a globalized world. By connecting Abduh’s thought with the educational practices of modern pesantren, this article concludes that an integrative educational approach is essential in responding to the demands of the times. A curriculum that nurtures both spiritual depth and critical-scientific skills is the ideal model for progressive Islamic education. Therefore, the future development of pesantren curricula should further embrace the integrative educational principles proposed by Abduh to produce graduates who are not only pious individuals but also socially and scientifically productive.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for developing an augmented reality-assisted booklet on viruses for high school students with diverse learning styles. The methods used are descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative. Data were collected through interviews with teachers, distributing learning style identification questionnaires, and analyzing student needs. The results showed that 84.8% of students experienced difficulties in understanding the virus material. These difficulties were caused by the abstract and complex nature of the material (38.1%) and the difficulty in relating the material to everyday life (29.5%). In addition, students wanted learning materials that were interesting and efficient (60%), utilized technology in learning (43.8%), and were able to support various learning styles. The results of this study are very necessary and serve as the basis for developing an augmented reality-assisted booklet on viruses for high school students with diverse learning styles.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the need for the development of an Emotional Spiritual Quotient (ESQ) themed e-booklet on human reproductive system material at SMAN 1 Lubuk Basung using a qualitative descriptive method involving 32 Phase F students and one biology teacher through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that 46% of the students considered the human reproductive system to be the most difficult material, the booklet was the most favored learning media (46%), and all students (100%) supported the development of the ESQ-themed e-booklet with a preference for a light green design (46%). The teacher also emphasized the need for media that is concise, engaging, and equipped with illustrations to facilitate student understanding. Thus, the development of the ESQ-themed e-booklet is considered relevant to assist in understanding complex concepts while instilling emotional and spiritual values in biology learning.

Abstract

Strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile in Islamic education at madrasahs is an interesting educational phenomenon in the context of integrating Islamic values with national values. The implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile at madrasahs faces the challenge of balancing the development of religious character with national character in accordance with the values of Pancasila. Madrasahs have a strategic role in shaping students who not only have strong spiritual competence but are also capable of becoming Indonesian citizens with character. The integration of these two value systems requires a holistic and contextual learning approach to produce graduates with a complete Indonesian Muslim identity. This study aims to answer how the implementation of strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile in Islamic Education at State Elementary Madrasah 2 Pamekasan is carried out and what the results are. The research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach at MIN 2 Pamekasan. Data sources include Islamic religion teachers, students, the madrasah principal, and parents. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing with triangulation of sources. The research results indicate that the implementation was carried out through a holistic integrative approach with three stages: planning (integration of Pancasila values into the lesson plan), implementation (collaborative learning, contextual approach, and integration of global diversity), and evaluation (authentic assessment and behavioral observation). The implementation produced three positive impacts: improved understanding of religious and Pancasila values, development of character traits such as honesty, responsibility, and empathy, and enhanced ability to collaborate and appreciate differences, reflecting the success of the transformative Islamic education model.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for e-module development using the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach on the human excretory system material for inclusive high school students. The type of research used is descriptive quantitative. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviewing Biology teachers, administering a learning style identification questionnaire, and administering a questionnaire for analyzing the needs of teaching materials development. The research subjects consisted of biology teachers and inclusive students of grade XI. Based on observations and questionnaires at SMAN 1 Sungayang, it was found that inclusive students (regular students and students with special needs) face various obstacles in learning biology, especially for physically disabled students. These obstacles include limited adaptive teaching materials, the dominance of textbooks, and diverse learning styles that have not been facilitated. The results of the interviews showed that inclusive students need flexible teaching materials and support independent learning. Based on the learning style identification questionnaire, students have diverse learning styles. Most have visual learning styles (14%), auditory (9%), kinesthetic (2%), and combined (75%). The results of the needs analysis show that (87%) students experienced difficulties in learning Biology, including choosing material on the human excretory system, namely (31%). A total of 69% of students stated they had never used an e-module with a UDL approach. However, 100% of students agreed with the development of a UDL-based e-module. The analysis indicates that research is needed on the development of a Universal Design for Learning (UDL)-based e-module that can present material flexibly, visually, interactively, and inclusively.

Abstract

With the rapid development of technology, teenagers tend to spend more time on social media. The FOMO phenomenon is very susceptible to teenagers, because they are in the phase of searching for identity. At this stage, teenagers are highly influenced by their social environment and have a high need to be accepted by their group. This condition gives rise to the FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) phenomenon, which is thought to affect self-esteem levels. This study aims to determine the effect of FOMO on self-esteem in teenagers at SMAN 1 Sreseh, Sampang. The method in this study is a comparative causal quantitative approach (Linear Regression). A total of 82 respondents were the objects of this study. Before measuring the effect, an assumption test was conducted that was fully met. The linearity test showed a significance value of 0,280, so the relationship between the variables is linear. The results of the regression test showed a positive and significant influence between FOMO and self-esteem, with a significance value of 0,000 (<0,05). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0,353 indicates that FOMO contributed 35,3% to students' self-esteem. This study provides a new perspective that FOMO is not always negative, but can be a way for students to maintain their social presence in their social circle.

Abstract

This study examines fundamental concepts and implementation of library research methodology in educational contexts through systematic methodological review. Utilizing frameworks from Cooper, Hedges, and Valentine, the research analyzes theoretical foundations, systematic approaches, and practical applications of literature review methodology in education. Analysis reveals that library research has evolved from preliminary activity into sophisticated research methodology built upon constructivist epistemology and social constructivist frameworks. Key findings demonstrate three critical dimensions: robust theoretical foundations integrating multiple philosophical perspectives, systematic methodological frameworks ensuring comprehensiveness and rigor, and practical implementation strategies addressing complex educational research questions. The study identifies essential components including systematic search strategies, quality assessment procedures, technology integration, and collaborative approaches. Results indicate that effective implementation requires careful planning, strategic decision-making, and quality assurance procedures. This methodology enables educational researchers to bridge theory-practice gaps, inform evidence-based decision making, and advance educational knowledge systematically
